We're even behind in technology compared to other developed countries like Japan. For example, services like uber existed over there years before they came here. For example, in Canada abortions are legal and insured across the entire country, yet in the USA our abortion rates are actually higher even though many insurance plans don't cover abortions. Regardless, people are gonna get an abortion if they really want to or feel they need to. They'll find a way. I think it would be way more beneficial to just provide universal health insurance regardless. Even if you don't believe in abortions. This is not the whole picture of course, there are other countries. But the point is that just because you give everyone the option of free abortions it doesn't mean that our rates will drastically go up.
Russia has the highest rate of abortions in the world, but only because for over 50 years they didn't have alternative options of birth control. They didn't provide adequate alternatives for contraceptives , so as a result abortions were their only option of birth control and this got implanted in their culture as a norm. It's ironic because Christianity presence is prevalent in Russia. They have a high percentage of people identifying as christian over there. And the orthodox christian church is major over there.

Ultimately, you will believe what you choose to - but you make the mistake of VASTLY oversimplifying. Oversimplification though, is a symptom of being ignorant about God and the scriptures.
