- We continue our journey north on "The Doghouse", leaving Tangalooma on Moreton Island and sailing to Double Island Point, where we endure our worst night aboard ever! We then cross the Wide Bay Bar and spend a few days travelling up the Great Sandy Straits, visiting Garry's Anchorage, the Kingfisher Bay resort and spending some time in the Great Sandy Straits Marina at Urangan.

Been watching your episodes of late and thoroughly enjoying it, we have our own cruising cat and do these areas regularly. Love your Chanel , keep up the great work . When we leave Moreton bay. We leave from Inside Bribie island at 4 am , if you maintain 6kn you can get to the Duck Pond at Double Island before sunset.
Sorry - only just saw your comment. Good advice right there. When I did the trip north in 2018 Double Island Point was a millpond, so I really didn't consider the possibility of it being so rolly. Having said that, I would have been reluctant to leave Tangalooma any earlier as we had to "feel" our way through the northern exit and hadn't been there before.
Thanks for watching and your kind words!
Looks like you picked the Bay to Bay long weekend. Race from Tin Can to Garry's, anchor overnight then race to Urangan.
Sorry - only just saw your comment John. Yep that was it - went from total serenity on our first night there to total mayhem! But no real problem for us though ... they were pretty well behaved (early start the next day!) Thanks for watching John.
your either a glass half full person or a glass half empty person
Yep Mal. I prefer my glass overflowing (with lots of ice!). Cheers!
