Fine in light winds, but in stronger winds you need an assistance. Otherwise, another technique which I've not seen anyone do, is to self land the kite exactly like this video, but do so infront of a tree trunk, fence, building, something that will stop it from flying downwind. Very risky of course. Another technique in strong winds is to place a long steel rod or stake into the ground, holding the steering lines back. Or walk with the kite at 12, behind a large tree or building where there is little to no wind and land it there by the edge of the wind-window, and quickly go and catch the wingtip.
in strong wind you can land it on the wind window edge and grab with one hand power line that is closer to the ground. Then quickly with the second hand grab it further. The kite will flag out.
was this the 11m? and you went on a twintip?. what was the wind strength?
