When I was a teenager I listened to Focus. I bought the Introspections albums because it was Thijs van Leer, not sure what to expect but 45 years later I'm still listening and still mesmerised.
I've been trancing to the lush melancholy of the Introspection albums from the beginning, and they never ever get old, as sweet and beautiful as ever. Thank you Thijs... Thank you and RIP Rogier
He is undoubtedly a virtuoso and musical genius. Classically trained, his technique his flawless and classical works bring out the best of him. It was amazing that he and Jan Akkerman, blues based guitarist of equal virtuosity and genius, were able to work together in Focus, producing the classic albums of the early 70's. I have his first Introspection album that introduced me to Fauré and Albinoni, and also some Bach. Happy days!
