    Yes! A constant geekery video on my birthday: what a treat! As usual, loving the comedy and Erin is growing in confidence every time she presents a video - great job!

    Curious as to how much more of the test debris (if any) the conventional vacuum picked up after the Dreame?

    • @ConstantGeekery
      @ConstantGeekery  2 года назад +4

      Very little - it did a great job, and that's in standard power mode. I have been using this at home for about 3 months now, and it does work well.

    I recently listened to a podcast (after yours of course) where the owner had a robot vacuum horror story. His pet dog decided to curl out a fresh biscuit on their wooden floor. When the owner returned home he was hit by a wall of stench and a floor smeered with th vacuums journey as it cleaned/soiled the house.

    This was great. You and Erin make a good team, Dave. I read about a robot hoover in a hotel that, as the doors were open, worked its way outside and disappeared. Several days later it was discovered under a hedge. I don’t expect it was this one though.

    hi there..can d9 max set to vacuum only and then mop only with auto scheduling? and the mopping does it can only use plain water? and how about the navigation or movement when the room little bit dark, probably late at night or early morning with light turned off? does it struggle to find the way?

      Also, this review is just in time, as I need one of these puppies. Does, it support HomeKit, or would I need to use the shortcut work around?

    • @ConstantGeekery
      @ConstantGeekery  2 года назад

      As far as I can see, it doesn't integrate with HomeKit. The app it uses is Xiaomi Home.

      We did. Some of it went in Erin’s water bottle. She didn’t notice and drank it apparently.

    Can’t wait for Apple to unveil one of these at an event… “INTRODUCING the REVOLUTIONARY Apple iVac… it’s a whole new level of home cleaning, and here’s Tim to tell us about it… iVac uses the new Apple V1 processor, completely integrates with iPhone…. We KNOW you’ll love this” *insert random chart showing power to efficiency compared to competitors here*

    Hi. If I would like to clean another floor do I have to move the charging station every time?

    • @ConstantGeekery
      @ConstantGeekery  Год назад

      Not if the robot can move between the rooms. It can map out multiple rooms and find its way home.

    Very nice vid guys. Dayv - nice pinnie; Erin - nice red mini wellies or whatever they are.
    One thing with these robovacs (we're on our second Roomba) is that if you have two furry pets and deep pile carpet, it will struggle. It will also fill up the "bag" probably every couple of gos.
    But on laminate/wooden floors/low pile, really worth it. It takes a lot longer than if you did it yourself - but then you're not doing it yourself ;)
    Cultural reference: when Dayv said the Dreame had a face, it reminded me of the floaty friendly robot from Disney's The Black Hole.

    Hey Constant Geekery, can you help? My last resort is to return the product, but I want to ask the community first because it's a hassle to return this and wait for weeks for the replacement or repair. I have some questions I hope you can help me with.
    I'm not sure if this is an issue or simply normal behavior. I'm just observing some behavior I'm uncertain about:
    (1) When the Robovac returns to the dock, it doesn't turn off immediately; the power and home lights remain on for several minutes.
    (2) When I unplug the charger after it's fully charged, the power and home lights turn on and remain on for several minutes before turning off.
    (3) It's losing battery even when not in use. When it's fully charged to 100% in the evening, it drops to 85% by morning or even more.

      Sorry to hear you're having problems. Only thing I can recommend is a factory reset (which you might have tried already): press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds. You'll have to set it up again, but hopefully that will resolve any software gremlins.
      Battery degradation is something you would need to contact Dreame about. Hope you get it sorted 👍🏻

    I have this robot for months now and i can tell that it has constantly problems with the map it draws. It just gets randomly corrupted and you can start over and over again drawing new ones. Support tells me offcourse to bring it back careless of the fact that this problem is known and serial.

    • @ConstantGeekery
      @ConstantGeekery  Год назад +3

      That's an odd conclusion to jump to. Shame you didn't listen to our disclosure statement, because the majority of commercial reviewers will have been sent the product, but that fact is not always disclosed. Naturally, it will be commercially impossible for most outlets to buy the products they are reviewing.
      Our standard terms:
      We ALWAYS offer to return the sample, if the sender organises a shipping label.
      We NEVER agree to any demands or timeframes from a company sending samples.
      The company NEVER gets to see the video before it is published, or make any changes to the content we create.
      We ALWAYS give our unbiased opinion.
