Young man, PLEASE, (yes I yelled), don't change your content. So what you are not organized. You live your life on the road. If they don't like it, its ok. Some people are not happy with themselves and want to project negative energy on others. Live your life for you and be at peace. Don't get wrapped up in (negative) comments. Thank you for sharing. I wish you many blessings in the New Year. Travel, explore, and be safe.
Arizona native here. You made Indian fry crisps haha usually the bread is more doughy and pliable hence “bread.” But regardless your food always looks delicious and this meal looked yummy. Excited for your upcoming videos
I just want to say thanks for so much info. My wife and I started following you. We are so inspired to do some traveling in the US , since we are in our 60s van life would be hard , but a small rv would work . Thanks again for the inspiration. We will keep following you. Peace
My bro, love your videos! You take people on a fun journey around the country and I appreciate the van cooking vibes as well as the amazing views. May I offer two thoughts? First, reusable bags! Bring your own bags! Avoid using plastic bags! I know you reuse them for trash but still... Second, when browning meat, avoid breaking it up at first, instead push it down so that more surface area touches the pan, and leave it alone for a few minutes to achieve maximum browning! Break it up once you have flipped it. Appreciate you.
Fry bread is typically at least the ones I’ve had homemade is more of a donut consistency but still holds its shape I prefer mine little sweet my stepmom would add honey to the batter these look delicious as well love the crunch more of a tostada
He made his version of BUÑUELOS!!!🎉 I was poor we used a tortilla instead of the traditional dough. Then fry it, topped with cinnamon sugar. The American me would put syrup on top of that. 🤣🤷🏻♀️
Ryan, it was EXCITING to see you try a Native American dish. We usually call them “Indian Tacos”. If I could recommend anything, I’d say you need a little more baking powder and use lard/vegetable oil at a HIGH temperature. It would be REALLY cool to have you come out to an Apache coming of age ceremony (Sunrise Dance) to experience all the food and culture. I would be willing to invite you to an upcoming ceremony since you are such an appreciator of food, so let me know! We invite camping! I recommend going through San Carlos, AZ on your next adventure. Always enjoy your videos!! Have a happy new year 🎉
Sup Ryan… been watching your channel for over a year now. I’m a full blood Navajo (Diné) & from around you stayed at. It’s crazy to see how close you are from me but was a lil excited to see my area. FYI… you dont really need a i’m permitted to stay on the reservation, just ask the locals & maybe trade it out to some native delicates.
I can’t say I’ve ever had a crunchy fry bread , but super cool you tried making them! 😁 If you ever make them again, don’t cook them as long and they’ll be similar to a tortilla in that they’re pliable! Awesome video!
That was the first thing I noticed, he totally overcooked them. They're supposed to be soft so they can be folded to eat. They're supposed to be pillowy-soft breads.
And it’s layered. I’ve never had it with the beans, onions and meat together. Hell of a try though. I haven’t had it in fry bread in over 30 years and there’s no way I would attempt to make one. Go Ryan!
Love your videos!!! You give me so much inspiration for my van life travels. I'm currently doing van life in the city but you make me want to hurry and get out on the road again. Thanks for your amazing content!
My mom had lamb navajo tacos in NM when we drove the Enchanted Circle. She said it was delicious. We have some travel experiences in common regarding NM and Sedona, AZ. Wonderful area to tour.
In a lot of places close to where you are, you can get some amazing truly authentic Navajo tacos. You should try one soon and compare to yours. I’m curious how different they’d be
I remember going to the Puyallup fair when I was a kid and they had a treat they called Elephant Ears...it was a larger version of the dessert you made with the shells, butter, sugar and cinnamon. They were so good!
Fischer Scones are what I remember from the Puyallup Fair! I moved to the Midwest and was so excited to get scones when I went to the Indiana State Fair. They had no clue what I was talking about!😢
Bummer you are three weeks early for rhe Lake Havasu hot air balloon festival. It starts on the 18th. I have been to the Albuquerque, NM hot air balloon festival. That was really amazing.
I own a 40 acre off grid property just 10 miles from where you were camping. Just north of St. John’s. The weather is perfect up there right now a little chilly at night.
@ryantwomeyy suggest you get a silpat or other silicone type baking sheet mat to put on top of your stove between the iron grates and the glass top to keep it from rattling and then it won’t matter if your burner is super hot or cold, because the silicone is used in baking and is resistant to high temperatures❤️
Awesome nod to the great Dine (Navajo) Nation Ryan! Love the inclusion. Totally agree that the topping is basically a salad and could be a little “more” in the flavor dept. I’m an Indigenous from Canada and I asked my sister - who’s an amazing frybread maker. She mentioned that it should be a little stickier, as opposed to a pizza dough texture. She also mentioned that it shouldn’t be kneaded as much - the final product should be golden brown, but also soft and nicely fluffy. This is just the version we enjoy, it may be crispy down south. Love the content man! Happy Holidays!
Yes as a Diné,the best tasting fry bread are made from blue bird flour and cooked in Morrell snowcap lard haha. If you get a chance stop in Gallup New Mexico and check out the flea market for some Navajo cuisine. 👌🏽
Also, I've gone threw 2 sets of the same tires you have, on a dif vehicle but they're great tires for what you need. I completely believe you made it out of there with no trouble.
❤️ Hope you have had a lovely Christmas Ryan 🎄😃. Thanks for the video. That meal looked quite delicious and sounded so crispy 😋. Happy New Year to you and yours 🤗🥳✨️🍾🥂✨️❤️
Frybread was a little more on the crunchy side, so don’t cook it as long but you have the idea. Next time, try the frybread w hamburger patties.. which is a Navajo burger. 👍🏼
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 Ryan n Happy Safe New Year 🎉🎉. Yes do some traveling around the great lakes but in the summertime. Mucho Love from your friend in Michigan Tam ❤️ ♥️ 💕
Hi Ryan I love ur videos they r so relaxing and enjoyable I'm from uk 🇬🇧 now living in the philippines 🇵🇭 keep up the good work look forward to ur next adventure 😊
RYAN! with the amount of walmart shopping you do and seeing that little sauce bottle... i STRONGLY suggest "Melindas" ive had everything except any of the habanero/ghost pepper angry b-hole sauces and they are ON POINT!
Need to get a convection top oven so you don't have to deal with the rubber mat and the glass topper. And they make permanent mounts for starlinks for the top of your van that basically lays it flat with little to know loss of signal.
Spooky hour is a real thing. I applaud you for staying out there on your own. Curious how often you get food poisoning or the sh1ts. I notice you don’t wash your veges or rinse your meats. Living in a van definitely makes it more difficult.
Native chiming in. Generally indian tacos type frybread around here are soft and fluffy, more like a donut than a crunchy wrap, and typically thicker and chewier, but still an awesome attempt with yours. I now want to try it with the crispier texture your turned out with, it looks really good. We also call the "funnel cake" like attempt towards the end "Elephant ears" here funnily enough, and are typically a common sight at any powwow around here. In any event, digging the content, and hoping you stay safe!
maybe a silicon trivet instead of drawer liner to keep your stove top from rattling? silicon melts at a way higher temp than your stove can probably get to so you'd be able to throw it on there immediately.
i know this is a old vid but i work all summer away from home and stay in a camper 6 months out of the year but once it starts getting cold i refrain from using my heater too but sleeping on a heated blanket is an ultimate hack imo

I thought the same thing!
We need a Ryan Twomey cookbook
HELLO SON. GREAT VIDEO. YOU ARE MAKING YOUR DAD PROUD
This guy is just silly Ryan is my son and I'm extremely proud of you Ryan!!

I live 30 mins from the Petrified Forest park. I’m Navajo and could have my family could’ve made you a proper Meal. Maybe next time. Great video.
They have silicone cooking mats. You could use it when your stove is hot to stop the rattling.
Yup, awesome things. induction hob covers save the glass surface from being scratched but would work great in this scenario.

Indian tacos isssssssss
Making me hungry all the way here in Australia.
All my fellow natives down here in az do NOT call them Indian tacos. Its Navajo Taco. Dinè
Thank you for your videos. I have been binge watching them. Making my days go by smoother! Also, I am from MD too! Old bay goes on everything :)
I live in Tucson and fry bread is SOOOOO good. Thanks as always, Ryan!

He overcooked the hell out them 😂😂
And you can fold them into tacos as they are frying (:
That was the first thing I noticed, he totally overcooked them. They're supposed to be soft so they can be folded to eat. They're supposed to be pillowy-soft breads.

i was going to say the same thing like it will have a nice crust but not were the whole thing is like a chip
you should travel around the great lakes in my opinion one of the most beautiful places in America besides mountain areas.
Love your videos!!! You give me so much inspiration for my van life travels. I'm currently doing van life in the city but you make me want to hurry and get out on the road again. Thanks for your amazing content!

Merry christmas! And navajo tacos, wow
Bummer you are three weeks early for rhe Lake Havasu hot air balloon festival. It starts on the 18th.
I have been to the Albuquerque, NM hot air balloon festival. That was really amazing.
Merry Christmas Ryan, from one van lifer to another! Love your videos dude.

Hey Ryan, enjoy your vids. I havent heard anything about the breakfast seasoning in awhile. Is there any updates?
Thank you Ryan , you inspired me to start my channel. Thanks for your honesty and guidance.
That fry bread looks good!!!! Hell yeah my brother hope you enjoyed it!! #NativePride
Fun watching you cook in the van! I’m in Arizona, and you captured that scenic view perfectly. Beautiful big sky in AZ!
you can get a fireproof towel/blanket for over the stove after cooking, plus it could double as a safety feature.
Awesome nod to the great Dine (Navajo) Nation Ryan! Love the inclusion. Totally agree that the topping is basically a salad and could be a little “more” in the flavor dept. Yes vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of Carmel . 👍🏻🇺🇸🌴
Love the videos! Quick suggestion, get a big silicone mat to replace the sound dampener. That can handle the heat and will reduce the rattling 👍
Hope you made it out ok and had a safe trip home....Happy New Year!!!!!!!
Reminds me of Tostadas and Bunuelos. Regardless they looked good
Can’t believe you still don’t have a rolling pin for flattening dough. Somebody gift this man one
Love the foldable bowl. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
1 black sock and one white slipper,,,,lol. love it
❤️ Hope you have had a lovely Christmas Ryan 🎄😃. Thanks for the video. That meal looked quite delicious and sounded so crispy 😋. Happy New Year to you and yours 🤗🥳✨️🍾🥂✨️❤️
I've gone through the petrified Forest when I was younger and did a hike, pretty cool area
Frybread was a little more on the crunchy side, so don’t cook it as long but you have the idea. Next time, try the frybread w hamburger patties.. which is a Navajo burger. 👍🏼
Best time of the day when i see ryan has posted a video. Much love man hope your doing well and had a good christmas. Dont ever stop.
i thought new Mexico had a harsh winter this year. lots of snow. at least near Albuquerque
Get a silpat or two, depending on the size you need. They’re heat proof and would provide sound dampening for what you need.
Just checking in on your channel. I remember when you had 30k subs! Congrats, Ryan!!!
Your in my home state. You can’t beat the affordable airport parking prices huh. Love your channel.
you need an expanding bowl, flat when not in use and expands, loved watching your video
Fry bread was a little too crunchy for me haha but I love the inclusion. ❤
You don’t have to eat it so you’re safe.
Good video, cooked.. the frybread, little too long .. much love from Northern Az... 🤝🏽
Enjoyed your vid as always. A belated Merry Christmas 🎄🎁😎 to you! Stay safe.
Good cook. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 awesome job!!
When one of your favorite tubers posts a video when you need it most >>>
RYAN! with the amount of walmart shopping you do and seeing that little sauce bottle... i STRONGLY suggest "Melindas" ive had everything except any of the habanero/ghost pepper angry b-hole sauces and they are ON POINT!
Just had fry bread for the 1st time a couple months ago. Good stuff and great video
That crunch sound tho!!
Other than podcast you’re the only person I watch please don’t stop
I so hope to be set free to travel before age catches up with me.
Thank you for the travels
They look more a chalupa then a taco. Hope you have a great Christmas.
My suggestion I made a few videos ago😂 So I was freaking hyped watching this 😀🙂 tip: you need a little thicker dough😁👍
Welcome back and Merry Christmas been waiting on a video
My man use the time the stove cools down to get them dishes done! lol
Need to get a convection top oven so you don't have to deal with the rubber mat and the glass topper. And they make permanent mounts for starlinks for the top of your van that basically lays it flat with little to know loss of signal.
Just my 2¢ 😅, love the videos
Merry Christmas Ryan. Thanks for all the videos this year, they're always a highlight of my day.
Spooky hour is a real thing. I applaud you for staying out there on your own. Curious how often you get food poisoning or the sh1ts. I notice you don’t wash your veges or rinse your meats. Living in a van definitely makes it more difficult.
That is awsome... u made frybread. I'm a navajo and u did good..
Get a silicon baking mat for your stove. It's made for heat and thick enough to sound dampen
Ryan made the Great Value version of Sopes and Buñuelo Today.
Native chiming in. Generally indian tacos type frybread around here are soft and fluffy, more like a donut than a crunchy wrap, and typically thicker and chewier, but still an awesome attempt with yours. I now want to try it with the crispier texture your turned out with, it looks really good. In any event, digging the content, and hoping you stay safe!
Next time you drive through Gallup, NM there’s a deli/bakery and they make the best sandwiches. Westend Deli, it is amazing
Your food looks delicious!!! Next time you make your desert fry bread, sugar & try Honey on it!!! Massive Yum!!!
Great to see you. Happy Holidays Ryan! Excited for Jbuild...
Happy Holidays from Rochester Ny love your videos
Last time I checked fry bread wasn't crunchy like a chip 🤣
Oh dear...you made tostadas! Yeah, that's now how fry bread is supposed to be but I bet they were bomb anyway. I like crispy over soft, myself.
This should be called a cooking show more than a vanlife show LOL 😂😂😅
Poke a hole n the doe b4 u fry it n wlif u have left over frybread in the am put powder sugar n cinnamon or 🍓s with powder sugar so good
The cinnamon and sugar fry bread we call them beaver tails in Canada yes ice cream would rock on them.
you can just get an air fryer with a microwave included and a portable stove, that saves you so much space too!!
The last dessert u made reminds me of a Mexican dessert callled buñuelos!
Love your videos! Question... How do you dispose of your fry oil?
Okay...we need to see you make a dessert every video now too! 😂
Hey Ryan, if you fashioned one of those funnel cakes, bread things, you could’ve made it like a cannoli and then filled with cannoli stuff
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Ryan...
merry Christmas! thanks for the content
This reminds me of sopes
If you ever get a chance to go to a Hispanic restaurant, definitely give that a try Ryan
as always a quality upload bro made me laugh hearing that first bite though bro made a navajo cracker lol 😂 just messing looked good though brotha
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉
maybe a silicon trivet instead of drawer liner to keep your stove top from rattling? silicon melts at a way higher temp than your stove can probably get to so you'd be able to throw it on there immediately.
Ryan! I miss seeing you get a workout in! Keep the cooking but also include some gym to balance things off. Love your channel!
sprinkle the fry bread with cinnamon sugar and sliced strawberries or bananas, or both. a drizzle of chocolate...damn, now i want to make it.!
I ate Indian fry bread for the first time at an Indian Pow pow. I had never such an experience and I was awed..
Love the socks!!!😅
i know this is a old vid but i work all summer away from home and stay in a camper 6 months out of the year but once it starts getting cold i refrain from using my heater too but sleeping on a heated blanket is an ultimate hack imo
Maybe you could get a piece of silicon to use as a sound dampener on your stove top. That way the heat from the stove wouldn't bother it.
