    Earned a degree in private investigations with a 4.0 QPA. For any aspiring detectives, there are many fields to work in. I personally didn't care much for infidelity. I wanted to investigate crime so I'm working towards becoming the director of undercover loss prevention (store detective) for a major retailer. Going undercover to bust fraud, organized retail crime, internal theft, and identity theft. But there are MANY fields for private detectives. Infidelity, background checks, loss prevention, missing persons, government contracts etc. Heck, even mystery shopping is pretty good for extra cash.

      Special word or the day "Prenuptial Agreement" then if she cheats she gets nothing. Just remember to put a clause in it that stipulates that if she commits adultery then she is entitled to 0% of the estate.

I never grew up on spy movies or anything so was never really fond of the whole "undercover, rogue agent" idea that a lot of people seem to get. I hope I can pursue this one day.
    P.S the police here in Canada use black Dodge chargers and Rams as undercover vehicles, in fact it's so common in the province of Ontario that Everytime I see a black Dodge charger with tinted windows I automatically assume it's a cop hahahaha, just a friendly tip if you ever have to follow a Canadian, be extra cautious. Keep up the good work!

    I keep seeing people asking "how do I become a PI" the answer to that is it depends on the state you live in OR what state you want to be licensed in. Some states require a certain amount of verified work hours investigating in some way other states you do NOT need ANY experience just money. Some states you can be licensed and not live in that state. Example I live in New Jersey but am also licensed in Arizona because you DO NOT need a physical address in Arizona. Every state is different.

    Always have a full tank of gas, they may be leaving and not coming back....but you'll have to stop at the state line, unless you're in Texas, and they're heading to the other side of the state LOL... you could also go in behind her in the hotel and just ask questions about random stuff like booking a party, wedding, etc....keep your camera on in her direction and where any audio can be heard, and if she meets up with someone or you see which direction she goes, follow her lead or get on the elevator and go to the same floor, something to that effect if you don't see her actually meet a person, like if they are already in the room.

    Have you considered going into the lobby before her? You would then have her room number when she checks in and could post up somewhere in the vicinity of her room.

    • @zacharysmith285
      @zacharysmith285 9 месяцев назад

      i mean you can't really do that as the hotel staff would get suspicious if you dont get a room and just kinda sit there and try and listen in, which could potentially ruin the whole job, unless you get a room which would increase the cost of the job.

  • @WoodoakWilderness
    @WoodoakWilderness 6 лет назад +4

    Work 2 up and send the other investigator in. you then look like you are dropping someone off at the hotel. They then have eyes on her inside and if they get close to her they might over hear the room number of see who they meet up with. Forget telling me the client wont pay for the price for more people, if it gets the results in one hit and not over 4 or 5 days its cheaper in the end. For all you know she is meeting a female friend who works there. Its not the investigators job to assume, its to get the facts. As for setting up the trigger, park a second car with a live camera at the house, then plot up out of sight of the targets house and watch remotely. A car sign written as "home cleaners services" will be over looked by third party watchers. If you put a mobile number on it, they will call you to say they see one of your cars in their street. You can then say yes one of the neighbours is a client but you will know that you are being watched.

I then went on the elevator with them acting like going to the same floor, I got off and start taking on my phone like " ok I'm off the elevator which way darling" I get an idea of what room they went into then I documented that and left and watched the car as she got in and left. I was a South Australian State Licensed Private Investigator (and Security Specialist) for 18 Years.
    Counter Surveillance was alway My particular delight.
    I was taught Surveillance Techniques in 1999 by the Australian Academy of Law and Investigations, whilst I was studying for My Certificate in Law Enforcement, but I had previously been taught Counter Surveillance Techniques in 1983, by the Australian Department of Defence and the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation.
    And whilst other areas of Investigation and Security Consulting were interesting, conducting Counter Surveillance Operations (undetected) was always much more Challenging and Enjoyable from My perspective.
    1. Follow the Client without being detected by the Tail or the Surveillance Team who are suspected to be following the Client.
    2. Identify the Tail or the Surveillance Team, without Myself being compromised.
    3. Confirm that a Tail or Surveillance Team are in fact, conducting a Surveillance Operation on the Client.
    4. Identify the Origins of the Tail or of the Surveillance Team, through Surveillance and Investigation of the Tail or a Member of the Surveillance Team.
    5. Decide upon a Course of Action, which might involve making Myself Professionally known to the Individual or Organisation responsible for the Surveillance in one of several ways; some serious, some funny.
    6. Decide upon what to tell the Client and this might even involve Lying to them about the Result of My Investigation.

    Two: Why didn’t you follow her in a few moments after. She could have been sitting in the lobby waiting for her friend and you could have just sat there having a fake phone call until you confirmed the person which would have sealed the deal. Or you could of overheard her booking the room, etc...

So he said it's pretty easy , you have to just take pics and video and will pay 20 bucks an hour. Is that how this personal company works , hire just newbies and ask them to go and get evidence . Does that seem common on how this works

    • @SuburbanSecurityServices

      Yes, that's exactly how it works! When I started (in the 90's) I was expected to purchase my own camera (Sony handycam for about $99) and have a reliable car with insurance. I was given my assignments and told "hit the street". its fun when you're 20 and nothing much to lose. I'd say go for it! You'll have fun!

    Question: is a PI limited by jurisdiction? For example, can a PI licensed in Va operate in Washington, DC? Is it common for a PI to investigate/assist in murder cases?

    • @SuburbanSecurityServices
      @SuburbanSecurityServices  3 года назад

      Some states have a reciprocity law where a neighboring state will honor a license, however you have to research each state laws to find out for sure. For example, I have a Mass license and can conduct simple interviews or locate investigations in Rhode Island. However, I can not conduct certain types of investigations like missing persons or stolen property investigations. This is written right into RI's private detective law. With that said, I do not believe RI investigators can conduct any types of investigations in Massachusetts without a license, but don't quote me on that.

We would gather the evidence you already have, get new evidence if possible and write a report as well as a police report. The police would get a digital file with our report, the police report and all the evidence. The evidence would be organized. Basically we do all the work for the police, so they don't need to do anything other than use their authority to do what they can or bring the case to court. Yeah, attorneys always have a good list of PI's they use...so ask your attorney for recommendations, but always vet them yourself! Talk to the PI , ask a lot of questions and get a feel for the investigator. You can tell a lot from his/her responses...are they trying to give you the hard sell? or are they really trying to figure out how they can help. If all they're doing is asking for your credit card number, look elsewhere. I wrote about this very topic in my book Protect Yourself. Check it out!

      #2 What would you gain from knowing which room she was in..The door would be closed (unable to see anything) Anything you heard/recorded is "heresay" in a court of law Your on private property (keep in mind you must pass a front desk) And are not a customer of the property Theirfor if caught Your tresspassing..Unlike a mall to the public with a reason to buy varies of items

The dodge is another heads up to the idea of law inforcement. casual office wear Another questionable idea to someone else. My choices : A U-Haul van. Older car And Kick in some dents A few stickers on it. She's driving a newer high end imported car Dresses in brand name office wear. You would be a somewhat equal to her. So if you caught her eye ..Maybe as a cute guy it would imprint in her memory Maybe even raise a brow on why your there...... Old car/uhaul Your wearing a construction outfit Dusty/dirty/Paint worn out jeans T-shirt. Duffle bag that is stained Has chalking on it even bits of concrete on it Strap a tool ontop....But have a cut out for a very good cam..Get out of the car Throw the bag on the hood Aim the end at the client Use your phone as the display When she looks over it look like you dailing a number Or face 100% the other way..Your not bound in your car...Having said outfit would set you outside her world Your no longer a equal Or look like a threat

      The two options are either private investigator or police investigator/detective. If you want to go straight into investigating then PI is the only option as in order to become a police detective you must first do patrol work for 3-5 years. It really depends on the type of work you want to deal with PI's deal with mostly civil work cheating spouses, fraud etc. where as detectives deal with crimes, so death, sexual assault. If you are interested in working for the police then I would say go for it its better pay better benefits and more exciting cases. But it is a lot more work and a lot more stress. • @SuburbanSecurityServices
      @SuburbanSecurityServices  2 года назад +3

      Yeah, it depends on the device. There are "active" devices that offer real time reporting and "passive" devices that just record information and the unit needs to be plugged back into a computer to identify where its been. Unfortunately, just by looking at the device there is no way with any degree of accuracy which type it is. Also, the active devices can have a 3 second delay all the way to a 15 minute delay. Again there's no way to know what type of service the subscriber has on the device just by looking at it. Some states have strict laws pertaining to tracking devices, so if one believes the spouse has put one on your car, I'd consult with an attorney or the police. I don't use these devices just for this reason. Thanks for the question.

Have a kid size shirt with a chest pocket put the cell phone in it and tell him to just follow her to where she's going and then put another cell phone in his back pocket both in record mode. Then after that return back to you in your car and retrieve both and review what's on video. But with a kid you know from the family or a kid near by you? Who would suspect a kid these days?????!!! Or just do it all yourself?! Long cell phones and or short pockets work the best if you know how to line it up facing her and or him then you got what you were going for without trying or being burned!!!

    10/10 would rather be in the hood than in these literal shit holes. But I haven’t encountered a time where I haven’t considered it.

    i would of had a female in the lobby area..theres too much assumptions..we only see her walking into the lobby..where did she go from there?..for all we know..she could of been going to a conference meeting on how to please ur partner lol..of course i would of died laughing if that was the case.

      Don't forget, there's a lot of preparation and then follow up in these cases too. I usually have the client ask the partner "where she was today?" "what did she do?" etc. Any lies or inconsistencies are documented and further prove she's up to no good. Also, its very rare people are caught in the act...they take painstaking efforts to avoid it. Thanks for the comment!!

    Can you just become a pi or do u have to go to a class? Also how much are you supposed to charge someone? I would be awesome at this! Catch that cheating scumbag! Lol couldn't you call the hotel and ask for the room she's staying in by her last name and then keep calling the room while you walk around and match up the ringing with the room.... that make sense? It would work but it would take forever....lol.

      Depends on what state you want to work in...there's great ebooks on kindle that can walk you through the process. My advice would always be to get a job as a surveillance operative for a company to learn. Its a fun job, but it takes patience. As for your other comment, every situation is different but most times you don't want the subject wise to you...you try your hardest not to make contact even though it happens. Thanks for watching!

      I guess it depends on many different factors, like where you want to be licensed and how much work you're willing to put in. But I think its worth it.
