This is an all-around great video. I haven't gotten around to seeing a train here yet. If you ever see the movie The Station Agent you see that first crossing while they're crossing it in a car and theres also another scene where two guys are waiting to see a train cross that bridge on the second shot.
This is really great footage! I love the Alco and its persistant bell, nice horn too. Looks like you've had a good week. Nothing to report from the Cape so it's back to chasing Susie Q here locally, take care...
@GenesisSanctuary Thank you! I love the M&E, I just wish it wasn't so hard to catch their trains. I thought it was pretty unique as well, I've never seen that before.
@CSXACe Rockaway Borough (I believe.) Stores on one side of the road have said Denville, on the otherside Rockaway/Rockaway Borough. Even seen Dover. As far as I'm concerned, it's Rockaway Borough.
@ELSD45801 Thank you! Yes it was, if I was guessing I would have guessed it was going over the other crossing but the conductor told me they were taking that one. You have to be lucky to catch them working, and hopefully have your video camera with you!
@SusQ45 Thank you! This is a great railroad, but it's almost impossible to catch because they run as required. I'm still looking forward to your Northern Division stuff.
@21stCenturyLtd Thanks Kevin! I'm shocked you haven't seen one yet, definitely try to though it is awesome! I'll have to check the movie out, that would be interesting to see.
I live in Rockawat Township. Never, ever seen a M&E train. Did you see my video of the new signals at Main Street. If you're ever going to railfan the M&E freight line again, could you do me a favor and check out the signals and tell me if they work? Thanks, theFlagman2! P.S. Do you have a schedule, or know on which days these trains run and at what time. I've heard Tuesday and Thursday around this same time, but that was from a person who didn't know a whole lot. Thanks again! andletmeknow!
Nice! Was that last crossing Route 46? I've seen only 3 M&E freights in my lifetime. One was stopped on the NJT tracks near the Dover station, another went behind my car while I was stopped at a light on North Sussex street and the third was from a plane that happened to fly over an oil refinery that M&E switches (do they still have that?).
@TheFlagman2 Not to butt in, but my brother works in the M&E shop in Morristown and he tells me when he sees trains leaving. They literally have no schedule sorry to tell ya haha

Nice freight chase and nice Alco you caught.
Awesome catches!

@SCL7500 Thank you! It was great to see an Alco on a freight!
@21stCenturyLtd I just looked it up, seems they used the Newfoundland Station as well?
@TheFlagman2 If I ever happen to see one again and have my video camera I'll try to shoot from there. Is that in Dover?
@21stCenturyLtd Also they used the bar next to the tracks in the third shot multiple times in that movie
@CSXACe Yeah, I know...did you get a chance to see if the signals where working and what signal it was.
@ELSD45801 Oh yeah and regarding the refinery I have no idea if they switch that now.

@UPDetector That you do! Thanks!
@smokinace64 If I'm ever out at the time they run again, which won't be any time soon cause of school.
are you going to film more of these?
Great catch!!!
@TheTVGuy45 Thanks man!
@Engine201 Thanks!! This was an awesome chase!
@KyleVideoDesigns Hahaha Thanks dude, I figured you'd be angry about this. The Dover & Rockaway Branch is a beautiful line.
@TheFlagman2 Alright, by the way I shot from Main Street, the spot at 1:39 is main street.

@CSXACe Your Welcome
I hate you. AWESOME catch, bro!
