They do not have to wear all that makeup to get their songs across. Yes, they can do a show without all that makeup on but they choose not to because it is part of who they are. they can be true to their fans because that is who they really are; they don't go home and wear a shirt and jeans with no makeup, their stage look is just an exaggerated version of their everyday look so it's not hiding at all.
I fucking love how Andy just stands emotionless while the others are just crazy.
