Magnifique version de ce standard! Vocal de Dizzy, suite des chorus,..., tout est parfait! Merci James pour vos vidéos de cet excellent groupe et, comme d'habitude, un bonjour de Lausanne😀
Thanks so much for travelling to NOLA and capturing this interesting performance for us, James. Very good but it's a little disappointing that only three of the 'regular' musicians were available.
An intriguing possibility, James. They are playing the song in A flat, to suit Dizzy's vocal range. But the first full bar [the -ie of the first Mar-ie] is on the chord of D flat. The melody note is A flat at that point. (It would also be A flat at the first full bar of 'When My Dreamboat'). But the trumpet player chooses to play a D flat, which IS a part of the correct chord, even though it may sound strange, not being the melody note. I'm still confused. It's most unusual to 'improvise' right at the start, when normally your job would be simply to state the melody.
Never heard Dizzy sing before-pretty good!

Wow, what a great interpretation, that brings this old ballad to a new level! Great sound - good quality recording on acoustics and video!
Outstanding! I may be wrong but I think this is the first time I've ever heard Dizzy sing.
She sang at the FQF two years ago. I can't recall if it was with Shake Em Up or the Secret Six, but I posted it on RUclips.
@@JamesSterling I'll have to go back and check it out. She has a lovely singing voice.
@@MarkWYoung-ky4uc Here it is (she starts out a little shaky but settles in nicely): ruclips.net/video/41P5lqH5oSA/видео.html
@@JamesSterling Thank you sir!
Dizzy sang ‘Shine on Harvest Moon’ at the 2023 FQF. All members of Shakeem Up sang a solo - such joy!
კარგი ხარ, დიზი! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Nice to listen and to see!
Glad you enjoy it!

Trumpet player is really good.
It sounds like Hippo started off with "When My Dreamboat Come Home" and then catches himself at :09 and corrects to "Marie."
