Another form of transport from chennai to gokarna is ..... Vasco express ( chennai to goa ) ... START FROM CHENNAI AND GET DOWN IN MADGAON , and from madgaon most of the trains pass through gokarna...
During vasco express, you can experience dudhsagar waterfall too ( google it for more details)

In Gokarna town there are many bike rental. You can find it easily.. unfortunately I didn’t saved number

Two days is ideal..
if Jogfalls and Murudeswar added in your plan then 4 days is sufficient
