Islam vs Volk 1 was inarguably the fight of the year. Arguably the best fight of last decade from technical aspects.
Biggest let down was Gane vs Jones, O Malley vs Sterling and Khamzat vs Usman.
Most unexpected yet the fans appeasing one was Strickland vs Adesanya.
I should’ve put Makhachev volk 1 on here
If you were rooting for Sean the Aljo fight was awesome!!

when islam held volk down for 2 staight mins was pretty boring tho but ye rest of the fight was crazy

Dalby's performance against Bonfim and Hill's upset over Glover stand out instantly in my head.
Especially the Dalby one, I doubted the man hard for his age.
I picked hill almost instantly when the fight was announced. Don't know why people were writing him off. I knew Glover had taken way too much damage in his last fight.

Adesanya vs Pereira needs to be mentioned. The odds were technically close but everyone was picking Alex and ppl thought Izzy could only win by Dec.

Lucas gets a lot of shit and the guru comparisons are just naturally going to happen since they're in the same lane but I watch Lucas and guru for two completely different reasons and I gotta give Lucas his credit for putting in the work this year

I like how all the D and F tiers are wet blanket performances except for Belal. He's the only fighter who can get a dominant win in a pure striking contest against a high level opponent and still leave us completely underwhelmed.
It’s aged even worse. Jdm had staph and broken arm and destroyed Gilbert. Belal at peak fought an over trained burns with a shoulder injury and couldn’t even get a tko. Belal sucks

I really appreciate how you told it like it is and listed the fights that sucked! *It's one thing to list the good fights but to have honest points to why a certain performance was terrible.. That is refreshing. I totally agree on the recent Pantoja fight. I cannot stand how he did 0 ground & pound/submission threat, he seemed gassed. The list goes on. There's so many reasons why certain fights deserve a ton of flack for how disappointing they were. Props. Great video.
I love how everyone just downplays the significance of Leon’s numerous fouls/cheats which ruined usmans early momentum in the 3rd fight

@@Theblobmma you have to put down every performance usman cheats in, and every other fighter for that matter. Literally every fighter will grab the cage. At leon didn’t fake a nut shot, like usman did in their 3rd fight, but then thought better than to stop

Main ones I disagree with are both the Cory ones.
Yes the Font stunk but he tore his tricep in half and was effectively one armed for the entire fight.
And I also remember a lot of people picking Chito over him before there fight.

Anthony Smith vs Johnny Walker was like a nice A tier IMO because Anthony Smith is a dude who is more dangerous as the fight goes on and Walker was known to fade, but Walker showed that while still being a bit flashy early he can tough it out and completely outclassed Anthony in the process

Bro, great list but why did you not mention Justin Gaethje's performance vs Dustin Poirier ? That was a solid B tier if not A. It was a close fight until the KO. Gaethje took very little damage too unlike his usual fights.
Leon made Colby look easy but lost the Championship rounds and spent the last 3.5 minutes on his back with no sign of getting up

Yes. Idk how you could argue that Sandhagen's performance vs Font was in any way good. The takedowns were nice, but he did nothing for 25 minutes with them. Pantoja vs Royval wasn't nearly as bad but the grappling was. Outside of the 4th round where Pantoja had the back, he did nothing on the ground.
