Power brick seems pretty big compared to the enclosure. Would have loved to see them side by side on the table to really understand the portability of the whole set
I have 2 of these enclosures. They are great. They run a little hot.....with the rubber cover on. They sit on my desk but I now need a Quad Enclosure also.
I also would want a Bus powered enclosure. because I want it to be more portable. but if someone is just going to use it on their desk than this sounds like a great unit.
I love the Tool-Free Thunderbolt 3 design! Now please come out with the same Sabrent design with a Thunderbolt 3/USB4 design so I can occasionally move data over to a computer that only has USB. Please!
you all prolly dont care but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost the account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Musa Jeremiah i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I just wonder why my Kingston NVMe NV1 drive is only seeing speeds of 1.2GB/s but is rated for 2.1GB/s? I am getting 925MB/s from an external case using USB3.1. So I am not getting much better speed use Thunderbolt 3.
925 on USB3.1 sounds about right - quite good actually - via TB you should be getting much more. Could be down to the chipset used in your enclosure.....
Returned the 1st unit due to internal damage. Second unit arrived, random disconnects on an iMac 2020 using both Catalina & Big Sur. Using 2 x NVME Addlink S90 2tb in RAID 0 (apple RAID). Strongly suspect it's the enclosure....returning this one too unfortunately.
is exist any other variant for 1 SSD only, TB3 + USB-C with TB3 speeds over 2000MB/s both ways? I have seen Your nice video about Sabrent Rocket XTRM-Q, that is very nice, but i have looking for "no ssd inside" version which will posible to buy in Europe (best in Czech Republic)
@@iftibashir thanks - I guess like a shaver adapter. On their website it suggests the power adapter is 110v-240v (universal) so should be able to switch the cord that plugs into the power supply, to a UK one. Arrives next week, about £150 Inc taxes. Pretty much a bargain.
Yes you can format exFAT. You would need to make sure the same software you use for setting up the RAID array is installed on any systems you use the drive on beforehand.

how about the most important info
is it pcie gen 4x4 protocol/slots or gen3 and if they are x2 or x4.
Yes! Externally powered! Something I've been looking for actually.
Do you know if it could work with a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter?

@Juelz Zander instablaster =)

@Musa Jeremiah It worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my account :D
@Juelz Zander glad I could help :)

Do Sabrent do a version which also inclufes a hub? If so, when can we see a review?
Not that I'm aware of?
Glyph do a version : ruclips.net/video/9zcCEknNn28/видео.html
do you know if I can use different brand of NVMe such as 2 of 4TB Crucial P3 Plus?
Yes you can use any brand NVMe

Strange - never had any issues with any Sabrent drives TBH!! Hope you have better luck next time!
Hi there! Does this works by bus power only? Without the dc adapter?
Thank you!
Im afraid not - its a powered device.

Sabrant does make a single drive SSD enclosure without a drive. I think it is $89us on amazon. I believe it is bus powered.
Can you put two 8 tb cards in this?
The power brick seems like a deal breaker. I'm surprised that a dual NVMe enclosure would need something so big.
What is the volts and amps output on that power adapter? Thanks.
Is this drive sold in the UK? Can only find stock on US retailers
I did find it in the UK but it was cheaper to purchase from Amazon US and may the customs!
@@iftibashir brilliant thanks. Does it come with a UK plug or adapter if shipped from the US?
@@iftibashir brilliant thanks. I’ve ordered one on Amazon US to deliver to UK. Does it come with a UK power plug?
Nice review
Thank you
Purchased one from Amazon US..... Does it come with a UK plug? If not what would be the solution?
No Im afraid it doesn't (well, mine didn't!). I used a cheap 2 pin to 3 pin plug adapter, which worked fine ;o)

Cut off existing plug. Install suitable alternative. Buy alternative cable suitable to your geographical region.
Any bus powered alternative?
Can the Raid be installed under ExFat format? Can the drive then be used in both Win and Mac systems since it’s a software Raid?
Yes you can format exFAT. You would need to make sure the same software you use for setting up the RAID array is installed on any systems you use the drive on beforehand.
@@iftibashir That’s great to hear and thanks for the quick reply 😄
The enclosure heats up?
Depends how hard it's used. It does get a little warm, but throughout testing I've had no issues.
Power supply... make no sens
The 'brick' needed to power this unit is a nonsense in this day and age, and particularly with so many challengers with no 'brick' needed.
Power supply ruins the solution
Seriously.
