To rank higher up to something like masters or gm, you need much more skill and/or gamesense on dps or tank to do it. The reason it feels harder to win on support is that there is significantly less carrying potential so you are more likely to go 50 50 even if you are much better than the other supports in the match.
Yeah i feel like the average player would find support the hardest cause of the skill you’re playing at but totally agree at higher ranks it definitely shifts to DPS & Tanks being tougher because it’s so much more punishing when one of them dies from what I’ve seen
the real conclusion is that OW fundamentally is a game about one thing and one thing only, DPS is the only role that matters. Tanks exist to provide space to and protect DPS players, Supports exist to keep the Tanks and DPS alive so that the DPS players can comfortably pick off opps. The only real reason Tanks and Supports even exist is for the sake of existing. We could have a pure DPS only overwatch and it would be faster paced and a much better experience without all the pesky shields and healing. Like lets be real here, the only distinction between a good Tank and a bad one is the amount of space they take and how well they can stay alive, now who actually uses all that space and distraction created by the tanks? DPS. What is a supports actual role in overwatch? Enabling the DPS to take control of the game through various means such as CC, healing, anti healing, peeling etc. So who does the support role actually benefit? DPS. Now what is the DPS players actual role? To put it simply, its to actually frag out. DPS players are the only people actually playing Overwatch, everyone else is playing "help the DPS play Overwatch" Overwatch.
I disagree when you say that tanks and supports only exist to enable dps. Many tanks such as jq doomfist hog or ball break those definitions. Doomfist jq winston and hog do hold space but can frag often just as much as the dps themselves while ball doesn't really hold space at all and instead focuses on disrupting the enemies. Winston while he does enable his team, becomes a major threat himself and even becomes a win condition when given the proper support line up. A jq comp is perhaps the best example of this. She doesn't protect her dps or team much at all, and although her shout does enable her dps, it enables her just as much to go in and land hatchets knives and elims.

Nooo Broo support is hard it’s very difficult sitting the back and throwing my 1000x value cooldowns
Dps is The Easy Role in Low Ranks And The Hardest in high Ranks
What where you got the firing range from
It’s on the right side of the practice range where the bots go back and forth!
