In fact it's pretty similar to the Yamaha SG he played before he started endorsing PRS in mid 80's.. curiously this colour in particular reminds a lot of Masayoshi Takanaka's guitar, a very famous japanese guitarist in the style of Santana

As long as it's solid body you can play metal on anything. If it has some hollow parts you might get too much feedback
Just got it. Nice, but, it is really neck heavy. Sitting is fine. When I play standing I'm constantly wrestling with it. No bueno.
