  • The first of many summer charters on the GEML is go! Kicking things off to a great start, Locomotive Services 46100 'Royal Scot' was given the task to haul a Steam Dreams charter from Colchester to Barrow Hill.
First, we're at Snivellers Lane near Kelvedon, where 'Royal Scot' can be seen getting well into its stride after almost getting checked down to a stand outside Witham where it was booked to be looped, but wasn't. The noisy working here is 3Z46 from Southall to Colchester.
Next up, having gone on Colchester station like we did for 975025 'Caroline' a few months ago, it was expected that it would be in view, but not this time! After some digging around, the location of the train was found, right by the Balfour Beatty compound! In that case, it was over to Axial Drive for a glimpse of the locomotive following a water stop.
Finally, Ardleigh is the selected spot, where 46100 is in fine voice, effortlessly lifting the 12 coach ensemble away from Colchester on 1Z46 to Barrow Hill.
47828 is the tailgunner on the rear.
Thanks for watching, South East Train Hub.
