Great Video I will be doing this in a few days. Not sure if I would have felt good doing it without this.

Upon reassembly how do you prevent the ball bearings from leaking fuel?

I tapped those holes and put set screws in never beating on those bearings again

Without removing the ball bearings and shaft could you see from the front opening if the slide pin is moving ?

Great video, I have a question about the slide pin assembly, my truck is a 1992 dodge cummins. And the pump was leaking out of the rear rubber vent, so I took the pump top off and started to disassemble the side pin. I took the retainer out and took the pin out. And with a pick I dug out the o ring, but also a little brass piece that was on the pin came out with it also. It seemed the brass piece was holding the o ring close to the plastic housing the pin rides in. The ring was in good shape, the brass piece was alittle scarred up and rode sloppy on the pin. I wasnt sure, could the plasic housing be leaking and fuel getting around the plasic and the afc housing? And what about the brass piece? I didnt see that on your video I wasnt sure if I could run without it or not.

I'm sorry to say I don't remember a plastic or brass piece. My only advice would be to bring it to a local diesel pump shop and ask their opinion/order new parts. Good luck!

Wyatt Mohr- my injection pump is leaking at this exact spot (out the rubber vent). Did replacing that slide pin o-ring correct this issue??? If not, what did?!? Thank you in advance.

is that o ring the one that causes a leak? My fuel pump leaks out of a over flow within the same chamber just wondering.

Question about your slide pin being stuck. When you said the pin was stuck all the way back and that you had full fuel all the time, wouldn't that be the opposite? If the AFC pin is stuck away from the fuel pin than you were never hitting the small part of the fuel pin limiting your fuel output. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I'm more of a p pump guy.

Do you know where I could get a afc Spring?

My pump is filling up fuel under the fuel pin diaphragm and leaking out
Its probably that o ring isn't it?

I believe so. it's been a while but I think that's the only way for fuel to get in.
