I dont know if it's the latest patch but using 1x2 hull pieces to fit small fuel and FSS is a bit lighter than using 2x2 hull. 25.6t vs 2x ~11t. Sure it saves only a few tonnes but adds up. And the gun vision area doesnt matter either which is weird too.

The 2x2 hull is more aesthetically pleasing and the ship is a little stronger, because the 2x2 block has 100HP, and the 2x1 block has 40HP.
