Always enjoy a trip somewhere down the Great Western Mainline, on Friday 12th February 2016 I found myself here, in Maidenhead for just under half hour during the evening peak. Just as I arrived there was a Paddington bound HST on the up fast and a 180 for Oxford on the down slow. So I quickly got my camcorder out and filmed everything that come & gone within the next 25mins!
Maidenhead, as well as Twyford are one of the unique stations that actually gets stopping Intercity services (HST's & 180's) but only during peak times. So look out for some stopping HST's as well as some bombing it through at full speed!
INCLUDES: Plenty of Great Western HST's, Turbo's and a 180!
Incredibly busy mainline, particularly in the peak. Great to see HST's at speed, every set is slightly unique which makes them great. Also check out the sound of some of the Westbound speeding HST's. There must be a joint in the track at the London end of platform 1, so when the trains pass over at speed you can hear every wheel, sounds fantastic, especially on a speeding HST!
Thanks for watching!

Excellent ! The sound of the wheels was great ! :)
Nice to see my home town station being featured! If you're ever on Platform 4, wait by the Maidenhead sign on the wall of the building as that is where the rear door opens on a 3 or a 6 car service. You'll always get a seat!
I wonder if this still works.
@@Mgameing123 Nope! The quietest part of the eastbound trains is always the front. This is because of where people stand on the platforms at Twyford and Reading. The rear of most trains at Reading is near the escalators.
@@DanLoudShirts Oh so you mean the very front?
Awesome
Nice video at my Station :) Hope you didn't get too cold with the station being elevated lol. I will have to listen out for that joint now you pointed it out, going to and from the station all the time and probably just dismissed it lol :P
Lovely Captures !!
we have a evening hst stopping at Twyford. We have a Worcester that stops at maidenhead. some Oxford hst's during the day stops at slough. we also have a 1742 padd to Cheltenham which is 1st stop didcot (95mph through reading if signaller gives us greens).
