Memories for me here, I've always had a massive fascination for this tower since completion, knowing it held the record for tallest freestanding structure in the world until Dubais monster took it in in 2007 , I was so happy going up it in 98 when it still held the title was a thrill to . Then having dinner in the planet Hollywood restaurant nextdoor, is it still there, there was no glass floor in the elevator back in 98 if I'm remember right. Still a mega tower even though it has slipped down in the rankings. Then going up burj in 2015 I realised how far buildings have progressed in time .
Cool elevator with the glass floor panel and the glass walls. I like how the lifts are integrated into the architecture of the tower. Looks very futuristic.
When I was just 12 years old, my Grandparents took us to Montreal for the Olympics with a stop at the CN tower in Toronto along the way. This was when it was brand spanking new in June of 1976. We took the extra trip to the higher outdoor observatory and I remember looking down on the main section with my Grandfather and he was laughing because they were already doing roof repairs on a brand new structure. This was about the same time he had the roof replaced on his (now mine) business and the roofers were coming back all of the time to fix their shoddy work, so I think it was more of a sympathetic laugh rather than dissing this amazing tower. Perhaps they were just doing some final touches on it, so I really don't know. I'd love to go back one day.
Amazing how Elevators,Lifts, Have developed over the years,I had 47 good years in the UK Lift trade, Learnt on old contactor controllers.Ended my career as a Lift inspector, It’s still the safest form of passenger transport.
I went to Toronto three times. Once to see the doctor and twice for surgery. I should have went up the CN Tower but I was afraid to. So I went up the Calgary Tower instead. It wasn't as high up and it isn't even the tallest building in Calgary anymore. But I saw the Rocky Mountains out the western windows. Maybe they will make the Calgary Tower taller sometime in the future and then I will go up it again! :D
When I was a kid I thought I was up in this place first time it was built Watch Planes laying on Airport and observation deck was open being outside it was windy I watched it being built when I was in Canada with my dad that was the highest place I ever been
You all probably dont give a damn but does anybody know a method to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot the account password. I love any tricks you can give me.
@Ashton Korbin i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im trying it out now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Then, they keep going! Blasting out of the roof! The elevator then turns into a flying, jet propelled, elevator. They knew they had one, they were the only ones, the, last ones.. They were then asked by the elevator's inventor over a muffled intercom, to come and stay in the elevator factory, forever.. The End. :)

@@arahman56 true. One time I went on the CN Tower, I thought I saw Buffalo. But then I realized that it was Niagara Falls. Turns out you can't see Buffalo from Toronto. But hey at least you can see Hamilton 😂😂😂
Wow, that is one fast elevator... To bad there's no machine room tour - would've been epic, (but I understand, not all circumstances allow for it happening), but over all, cool!
I was a employee of a contractor who did all the restaurant lighting back in 2006 ,we did 3 weeks on night shift ,and he was asked to quote the new led lighting system inside the elevator shafts ,he asked me and four other guys if we would consider working on the roof of the elevator while an Otis employee would ride inside the lift on crawl speed , there are 2 lifts in each shaft so even while you are harrnesst off when you are in the roof of the elevator you still have a open shaft right by your side ,I said no thanks
Marylyn Conley the space needle is s tooth pick compared to this tower it's the tallest in the Western Hemisphere and was tallest in the world for 42 years
You guys got balls.thats frigging crazy that high

Absolutely stunning. Last time I went to CN Tower, was in 1988. I was glad you were able to catch the aircraft taking off. Beautiful place is Toronto.

+dykodesigns2yt It was built in the 1970s
Met a girl when she worked at the tower, back in the mid 80's.She loved my English accent and l loved her Canadian one. Both together, still.

I went in 2017. The day of the solar eclipse. It was cool to view Toronto from this height as it gradually blackened with the sun
I can't believe that no one in that elevator reacted to the decent pressure and drop speed !

I wonder how fast this elevator is in fpm?
@@anthonyboarman3833 as fast as the cab was ascending, likely over 1,000 FPM. High speed gear-less traction machine.
Observation level 113-114th floors
360 restaurant 115th floor
Sky pod 147th floor
Tip of the antenna mast equivalent of 181 floors
I've been up there once. Next time take the stairs. Good exercise. ;)
We were there yesterday!! Been here so many times and still enjoy the views!! The glass floor inside still gives me the creeps.

One of the fastest elevator that I even seen.
That music that plays in the background at 3:51 is Grape I Love You (Instrumental) by Jincheng Zhang
Been riding that since I was a young kid. Used to be afraid the elevator might not “stop” and we would shoot through the ceiling and become airborne.
XD
No way that will happen, the top shaft is on the middle of the top roof
Im watching the elevator while listening to "Lucio Dalla". Its all so totally romantic.
Nice lift
Wow. Those are some epic elevators!
That’s a good view 😊
Wonderful memory. 😍😍😍
This is awesome
Otis elevators, number one in the wrold.
I've been up there a couple of times. The last was about 15 years ago.
***** Nice! Do you remember what sort of fixtures they had back then?
Heritage Elevators They had OTIS series 2 with the ELD display the last time I was there.

Is it weird that I don't have a problem standing on the glass floors, but I am petrified of doing the edge walk?! XD
Is the tower just there for the top?
Awesome CN Tower video bro
So COOL, Thanks for the Upload.
Been to TORONTO a few times but still have yet to get to the CN Tower.
Want to Finally GO one day.
Always check the weather first. On a clean day, you can see the Niagara Falls from the Observation deck.

Cool tower
I love the elevator❤❤❤❤
Im Jahr 2000 dort gewesen es war wunderschön.
I am planning to go to Toronto this September. I might not be going to this tower though, because this glass elevator looks too scary.
Wow… amazing…
I went there a few (like 2014) years ago, it was awesome, to bad i did not get footage of the elevators, and IDK if i will because of stuff

They don't do the spiel when you're going up anymore?
The Gardiner, and QEW jammed up as usual. All the way to Hamilton
What do you expect, it's the Greater Toronto Area. But the 401 is worse, from Scarborough to Etobicoke.
Nice vid

Toto je super!
Very good
I've been up it twice! a lot of fun
Amazing
Way scary for me.
When safer and even more mind blowing elevators of all kinds are made, the US company Otis will build them!
I Rode this elevator since 2018
oh~~very good..!!
What music did you use at 3:59? I love it!!!! Also, I'm going up this beast next year!!!! #Canada2017
Shazam told me the song is Synthelicious by Jason Farnham
Didnt know that the CN Tower is just a bit taller than the Stratophere in Las Vegas
Well its 200 meters taller. Which is around 650 to 670ish feet. So its not a small difference either.

Found the trip to the observation level "uplifting", but on the way to the ground floor was a "downer".
Impressive
Should have taken the other elevator higher up to the Skypod.
