I was worked on a crew with an old guy who had lost a hand he had a prostetic with a hook and they often said he was the best grader operator out there. I like your video though keep them coming.
Thanks for the video. I just got an interview with my township to be an operator but I haven't ran a grader for about 12 years and it was an old cat relic. I have to do an in machine test of sorts next week so getting a look at the control lay out is a big help. Thanks again.
This machine is so much more comfy than the equipment I used to run. The new equipment is allot more operator friendly. I do have to say, though...... Nothing moves snow better than a 40 year old Austin Western grader..... They are a miserable contraption... But..... They were a shining star in their day. Nothing moves snow better than an old A-Dubya! I love the John Deere though...
I can operate most all other heavy equipment, but this,..this is my goal,...I really liked the 'ride along' with you in my 'dream machine. I wish I could find somebody to teach me to operate-drive one of these Graders,....heck I wouldn't mind if it had to be "Cat'.......joking of course. Thanks for this video.
I spent a couple days plowing in our recent snow storm. Went through $500 worth of edges in 2 days. And that was with trying to give just enough down pressure to scrape the frozen pack.
Well, I haven't run a Cat newer than about 10 years old.... I would imagine the latest models are pretty nice too. Deere is sure giving Cat a run for their money. The end result will be nicer and more operator friendly equipment for us to run... sounds good to me:-)
@rigjockey423 I don't doubt it.... I worked with a guy who had a "hook" and he outworked all the younger two armed guys on the crew..... He lost his arm in the military years ago... Some of them old-school hard core crusty bastards are just bad-asses.... I have allot of respect for people like that...
i plowed snow in wis for 30 years half the time in a blade started with a wabco cat deere volvel and last was a cat stick steer all need two hands steer and run blade or in the ditch stuck what the hell you doing dont be a goof ball respect the machine and your job
I prefer cat over the deer personally. We (up in the lower hills of Colorado) primarily maintain gravel roads but also paved ones as well. I thinks the cat has more power. Most of our equipment is newer now. At our shop we had just received about 4 new deer models.
@grizzleypeak For hi speed run u do I think sticks are better than joysticks, slow speed work joysticks could prove better but it's like driving a new kind of machinery! Love the guy who love their work! Your videos are at top of my list! I used to operate Deere in past but now it's Volvo I freeze no more now! I like the new Deere too!
@copperheadmarine At work we use carbide blades, with skates at both ends of the blades for sidewalks or curbs de-icing, they're costly but they last more than one winter. They don't spark on pavement! See my vids I'm from Montreal!
know who Leigh Macinnis is? From trailer park boys, and swearnet? haha, caught ya.... you just put a fake beard and sunglassess on, that's why it sounds like you're about to laugh for the whole beginning of the video!

Eating a sandwich is distracted driving, but grabbing a shit-ton of levers is ten-four lol

That has the same style of shifter as the John Deere 748 G-II grapple skidder I operated. And it's probably 15-20 years old
Thanks for this. My little girl loved watching this....So did I :)
All Blades are nice when they are brand new, I prefer the CAT 24H. It will do in one pass what this little TOY does in 4 passes.
you obviously only do bulk work then
MrMRDUGIE haha 24m is for bulk bullshit. Get on my 140m or 14 and cut subgrade. Then come back.
Hes probably never done final trim in his life

Camera mount? Sick wheels.
Is this a good job or does it get boring after a while?
