After Avicii's death i was trying to explain to my girlfriend why he was such an amazing composer and why several modern artists (Wyclef Jean and Armin Van Buuren for instance) compared him to Bach and Mozart. His usage of counterpoints - several different yet similar melodies woven in to one - in some of his songs always blew my mind and Sunset Jesus is a prime example of this. I'm happy someone took the time to visually present this song in a way where the different melodies can be distinguished by color. Thank you and RiP Tim
Avicii was great but this video is stupid. There are muted notes that have nothing to do with the song. They are only there to make it look fancy and complicated.
@@testus86 maybe I'm wrong, but I've been under the impression that the so-called "silent" notes are actually very soft ones used to improve background quality
@Lukas is right. If you put that much midi through a DAW the sound would be wildly cluttered and unclear. The midi looks like this in the video to look cool and get views.
I don't understand why this vid and the song in general are so underrated. This vid brings out elements of the original so creatively and tastefully. This is my favorite work from you. keep up the good work.

Really well done, nice to see you making these again. Though your reason to not ask for a MIDI is slightly silly, as I like to put them through my own note processing software, to do various cool things with the data (for example, play them through floppies after some processing) even if I don't have the soundfont or extra song data from the original software to actually play it like it's supposed to sound.
Though I haven't figured out how to completely filter out most of the black MIDI shenanigans (removing notes with
there's a reason for it. You can shoot me an email and I can send it to you
xDEFCONx Yes, I'd imagine the real reason is copyright or something. I've seen quite a few RUclips artists having problems with people stealing their MIDIs/content, claiming it as their own and profiting from it. I respect your decision.

Synthesia is a program that plays the notes for you, unless you have the premium version, where you can also play it yourself. HOW IN THE HELL WOULD HE/SHE PLAY IT, ANYHOW?! XD

what system does the player use?
Is it easy to control?
System is PC, but Synthesia isn't necessarily a game. It's more of a tool for teaching people how to play songs on piano, or for making "black MIDIs". This song in particular is a black MIDI considering the sheer density of notes on screen.
Imagine someone playing this song on a piano...
