I just watched my first video on your channel today. I never write comments on RUclips or anywhere. However, I felt compelled to comment on your videos now that I have watched four or five of them. I wish more people here would follow your format when delivering the information. You are direct and to the point. There is no repeating yourself or fumbling words. If you share a personal experience, it is relative to the function you are explaining and void of any self-promoting setup to the story. I can not speak for everyone, but your information delivery works for me. Great job,
Thank you very much Douglas. That is very nice of you to say and to hear. I try to chop away as much fat as I can to try and not waste your time. Saying that, I will admit to some babbling. Thank you for watching and the great comment. Have a great day.
3:00 to do this, please swipe up with two fingers on the watch face. Of course, with the 45 mm watch say, the same one I have, it is still difficult even with smaller finger. Another way you could do this is my holding in the digital crown until to have to tap or felt. You can then ask the voice assistant… Do you know who she is… To quote open control center, “but she might not always know how to. In that case. please practice the gesture and best you can. I can’t do it, but it seems like if I put my two fingers, but I’m going to use on the watch band near the bottom edge of the watch, in the position, I like to swipe up to, it seems to work.
1:23 again, whenever you hear actions available, any swipe up or down what are you doing voiceover, you will hear the colors being announced. A good thing is, you are still here which location the complications are, for example “edit top left complications, selected weather. “This gives the user who is blind originally impaired a sense of the special orientation of the watch face. Keep in mind that I am a new owner of an Apple Watch, but I think that picture is pretty cool. if there are only two complications, available for a walk today, the same things will be sad, but “edit top complication settings. “This is another example, and “edit, bottom complications, walkie-talkie, “is the other example for two complications being shown on the watch face.
2:38 although I have not yet learned about complications that much, it would be the same thing. I double tap on anything you want to select and open. Actually, Georgia selecting the item, a single tap is all you need. To open that item, perform a double tap. Remember what I said about your son on the watch band, if that might help you study in your hand when performing the double tap gesture. It has to be done fairly quickly, so that’s why awesome idea and work too.
8:36 I have done this once, but of course, it was for making a phone call. The person was unavailable, so I will have to get back to you as well whenever they are, and they call me back. Again, I would assume that the voiceover gestures of double tap with two fingers starts and stops media playback, but it also answer and hang it up a phone call. At least it does on the iPhone. Not sure on the Apple Watch. I’ll have to get back to you on that one.
10:32 I always thought the remote feature was for connecting remote devices, like switch is for people who cannot use the Apple Watch as normally directed with voiceover running. I notice, but at least on the Apple Watch Series 2, there is no mention of Swift access in the voiceover settings under accessibility. That’s sad, but the darn watch is seven years old by this point. It might be another reason why my friend took it out of circulation at Missouri state university.
You add the boarding pass to your iPhone wallet and it will show up on your watch. You can double press the side button to open your wallet on the watch to get to the boarding pass
3:54 Apple Watch does this as well when voiceover is running. If you have you turned on, and he received a notification, just place your palm over the watch face for a couple seconds to mute the notifications. This is with voiceover on, but I don’t know how it works regularly. I hope this perspective are good, both yours and mine for a different view on how to use Apple Watch.
4:24 small pit for those people who love Harry Potter, the potter head. If you want to, you can literally enable the flashlight by having the voice assistant turn it on when you say “Lumos. “Of course, you have to enable this, and the steps or a little bit hard to describe here. However, I would say it can work with, and without VoiceOver running.
9:07 I know these are coming in short for here, but double tap on dictation, whenever you hear it being labeled. Double tap with one finger, not to as the word on your iPhone. The end, dictation, double tap with that same single finger again. At least on the Apple Watch. Two, no sound is made for entering and exiting dictation, but vibrations are there.
11:59 what mask are you talking about here? Are you talking about the protective cover that also come with your Apple Watch that are plastic? Whenever I use those, I cannot do anything with voiceover such as swipe left or right or control the digital crown or even side button.
12:09 of course, you have to enable the card on the Apple Watch app on your phone, by putting in the four digit security code, or, however, many digits that is. Then, I guess you can use Apple Pay. For users, who are blind, and visually impaired, they will have to be shown exactly where to locate the terminal and where to show their Apple Watch to it. I have not use the teacher, so sorry I can’t help any further. Of course, Apple Pay on the iPhone it’s a lot easier if you have touch ID enable. This assume that you have a home button still on your iPhone, and I do on the iPhone 8 plus. Well, we’re talking about home button, the digital crown is considered the home button on the Apple Watch. I really wish Apple would make touch ID available there, as a song can briefly be placed over the digital crown to enable this feature. Other fingerprints good as well, depending on what you want to use.
3:27 people always mention the ping feature but also if you hold it down it will ping your phone and flash your cameras flashlight which might make it easier to find
5:08 again, remember that a single tap on a non-voiceover running iPhone, or any other Apple device, like an Apple Watch, in this case, or perform the action. I double tap on an iPhone, or Apple Watch running voiceover, will activate the items. Prepare any other headphones with your Apple Watch, when using airplay, double tap on airplay and follow the instructions voiceover gives you very carefully. Remember to always double tap on the item you would like to open,
Have had a mac and iphone for over ten years now. My first watch (series 7) arriving in mail today. Not confident I'll like being "connected" to another device but giving it a try. Already thinking there's a good chance it'll be returned. Tremendous learning curve to appreciate everything it has to offer.
This is one of very few tips on You Tube where there is an intelligent person who is intelligible and speaks English natively. Craig is a very impressive speaker.
You are too kind Marilyn. Thank you very much for the very nice words. It’s taken a bit to get to this point. Go watch old videos and you might think differently. Thank you again. Have a great day.
9:35 for some reason, I’ve been having dictation issues when running voiceover. On the watch, however, I only had one issue so far. Otherwise, it has been accurate as an arrow, striking a tree dead on. On the phone, however… No issues as you see here. Don’t know why, but that’s life.
I have not ever put one on. I did slam my watch really hard on a ski lift and scratched it on my first watch. So far 3 watches later I haven’t had a problem. I get apple care and would rather pay for the screen replacement if worse case it happens. I don’t know if anyone personally that uses one.
Can you use the watch and save music to it, from an application that isn't Apple Music? For example I use RUclips Music Premium. I want to be able to save music to my watch from that application, then pair my ear buds to my watch and listen to music while i go for a walk, without having my phone with me. Since my Apple Watch 6 doesn't have a cellular connection I can't stream music without my phone otherwise. Anybody know? Thank You!!
I do not about RUclips Music. I do not have it. It might be possible. With Amazons Audible you can download books to the watch. Downloading is possible with 3rd party apps. Don’t know about RUclips though.
I would go for the 7 because of the larger screen. That will be the size that gets new features like the keyboard. 7 would be a huge step for you and not much bigger. Thanks for watching.
1:05 these comments are all have timestamps, as I’m going to try and explain how to do all these things running voiceover. This is Apple screen, reading, software, and I’m using it dictation feature right now, so please excuse any errors. Yeah it doesn’t always work. if you would like to, turn on voiceover, and make sure that digital navigation is turned on. By digital, I mean the navigation on the digital crown. then, just scroll through the faces, while being careful, not cool, too fast with the digital crown. Voiceover cannot keep up, so just be aware of that. After you trying to say, do you want to add, instead of just having one, tap twice do a double tap another one. This is because voiceover changes is a normal jesters on the iPhone. Just left just the same, but swiping right take me to the next item swiping left take me to a previous item. Actions available will be heard after you select a face, so screw up and or down to you available actions. Follow the instructions, voiceover, give you, and have fun. keep in mind, that the watch face is smaller than your iPhone, so in order for you to align your hand correctly for a swipe down to be accurate, it might be beneficial to place your thumb on the band, and swipe down with one finger down towards your phone. Voiceover is used by people who are blind or visually impaired.
I got Voice in a Can on the phone and Apple Watch, so now I can speak a keyword and interface with Alexa. What’s really nice is I can ask to SHOW an Amazon list; it displays it in the watch, and I can check things off as I put them in my cart at the site!
So informative, and extremely timely! I just got my very first Apple Watch a few days ago (series 7) and had no idea what I was doing or how to customize things. It might be, but whenever you do this and certain settings are set, the watch will wake up… Wake on wrist raise switch button on. That is what you were here with voiceover if that button were indeed turned on.
You can hear phone calls and get Siri responses from the internal speaker. But the battery could not handle sustained audio playing through the internal speaker.
I am severely hard of hearing, and I use the timer about thirty times a day for cooking and frying food, in a noisy environment. I cannot hear any type of buzzer or beeping timers from ovens and deep fryer.
11:11 I am giving you one way to access the voice assistant, so here’s another. Just say its name like this, hey Siri, tell the time, “that can get you there as well, but remember with voiceover running, haptics are the only things out. No sound is heard. oddly enough, however, VoiceOver can activate Siri. Whenever voiceover says that one, the voice assistant activate. I don’t know whether it is the Apple Watch to or not, but it’s pretty weird. I will have to talk to asshole about this. So far, what do you think of these double perspective from a user who is blind, who won who is not?
I cannot stress enough what a godsend the torch is on the watch. As someone who has two cats that just enjoy throwing their toys under the sofa and the fridge, the bliss I feel knowing I can use a torch on my Apple Watch to locate said toys and retrieve them cannot be understated. (Or flashlight for you guys!)
Thank you for the English to American translation of torch. 😀 It is a feature I had overlooked for so long. Thanks for sharing your experience and for watching. Have a great day.
This is the only comment what a time. What is that that you can’t use the Apple Watch speaker when playing audio or anything like that, but phone, and walkie-talkie all seem to come through the speakers? That doesn’t make sense, does it? That’s cool what is the rock will come through the speaker. However, turning the worth of the volume up to 100%, at least on an Apple Watch, too, makes it sound really growly like the voice over voice person was Too.
Two things I figured out this year that my Apple Watch is perfect for. I have a Disney annual pass that I can put in the wallet as well and use that as my pass to the park, pay for stuff and use it as a room key. Beats having a magic band as an added thing on my wrist. Second thing is I am a season ticket holder for the NY Giants and they started going mobile and it makes it much easier to use the watch then to try and get them to read off the phone. The ticket takers at the stadium said it wouldn't work. They were wrong.
That is very cool you are getting good use out of it. I should have looked into using it at Disney World. I used the magic band. Next time. It is good to see more places using moving to mobile. Thanks for sharing your experience and for watching.
Here’s one I just found out. If your watch is in bedtime mode and you press and hold the button (not the crown) instead of asking you to power off etc it will sound and alarm and call emergency services.
Thank you very much 🙏. I heard the braided loop is great. Problem I see is that it’s too expensive and you have to pick a specific size. The price I think is the biggest reason.
Of course, double tapping, the side button does not mean literally double tapping it as a word on the screen of the watch. You have to press it in place quickly when voiceover is running, or without, I guess. Again, sorry, these comments are overrated and yours, but I hope not by much. I’m just giving users, and yourself, another way to think about Apple Watch.
Apple Watch is good, and bad. I owned a series 1 for a couple of years, but I had to stop, regrettably. This is the bad item -- I was wearing the watch while doing construction with paint and glue, and I accidentally dripped a drop of glue on the crown. The glue got under the crown and permanently disabled the it. I could still use the watch, but without that crown, a lot of stuff no longer works. So, tip to the wise - do NOT wear your watch while doing any kind of painting or gluing. Second bad item - operation with hearing aids. The iPhone can interact with my hearing aid to play audio, but this prevents any use of the Apple ear buds. It would be nice if Apple had some kind of solution for this to work with the Watch. Basically, the hearing aid has to pick up ambient sound to work in normal conditions, and also pick up Bluetooth sound when some device wants to play audio, and also switch between the sources without getting into a feedback loop. So, enough of the bad points --- the REALLY GOOD thing about the Watch is the remote control on the iPhone camera. I used that control feature a lot, and it was a real shame when I had to give that up.
Hello Alan, thank you for the advice. I am sorry to hear about your watch and the glue. That is a bummer. The only thing I will add is if you are around paint and glue, buy your watch on Amazon, save money and put it to Apple care. That is interesting about the hearing aid. Sounds like it would be a good addition adding that to the watch. Thanks for sharing and watching

How do you use Boarding pass on Apple Watch?
You add the boarding pass to your iPhone wallet and it will show up on your watch. You can double press the side button to open your wallet on the watch to get to the boarding pass
@@CraigsTechTalk Cool! I never took a look into this feature to begin with! LOL. Thank you for sharing!

Do folks get a screen cover for a watch as they do with a phone? Does the glass scratch?

I use a bumper with built in glass screen protector. Very slim all round.

I just ordered the apple watch series 8 gps with cellular it was on sale at best buy
I got Voice in a Can on the phone and Apple Watch, so now I can speak a keyword and interface with Alexa. What’s really nice is I can ask to SHOW an Amazon list; it displays it in the watch, and I can check things off as I put them in my cart at the site!
And I can touch a complication on the watch to open it as well; just in case the Lift To Listen doesn’t work.
I will have to check that out. That sounds like an interesting app. Thanks for sharing and for watching.
I like your demonstration
So informative, and extremely timely! I just got my very first Apple Watch a few days ago (series 7) and had no idea what I was doing or how to customize things. I've watched several videos today, some of which were much longer, but this was by FAR the most informative. Thanks for such great content!
Literally me ✌️
Hello Nat, my apologies for the delayed responses. That is so nice of you to say. I am glad it was helpful for you. Thank you for watching.

I believe that is the next update.😀👍 Thanks for watching.

Really blows to know that you can't use the watch speakers to listen to music or any audio :(. So how is it able to use Siri then?
You can hear phone calls and get Siri responses from the internal speaker. But the battery could not handle sustained audio playing through the internal speaker.
@@CraigsTechTalk I guess not. Hopefully that can be improved in the future. I love your videos, really informative and helpful.
So bummed out that I can't have sirius on my watch. Really sucks!
Colored AirPods look amazing!!
They are very cool. Colorware does some great stuff.
Which watch size do you use?
45mm.
I am severely hard of hearing, and I use the timer about thirty times a day for cooking and frying food, in a noisy environment. I cannot hear any type of buzzer or beeping timers from ovens and deep fryer.
That is a use I had not thought about. I am glad to hear that the watch has helped. Thank you for sharing and watching.
Nice
Thank you Juan 🙏

Thank you my friend 🙏 I appreciate your support.
Any messenger app for the watch. Like a icon on watch screen
Wow! Great tips! Thank you. 👍🏽
Thank you very much Heather. Appreciate you watching.
Very informative and helpful. Thanks.
Thank you Chuck 🙏 Glad to hear it was helpful.
That is a good tip to know. Thanks for watching and sharing.
Looking forward to part 2! Super useful reminders and new tips.
Thank you Dan. Hope you are not disappointed. Thank you for watching.
What watch face are you using? I like all the complications it provides!
Why doesn’t anyone like the Braided Loop? Just saying……
Anyway, another great video Craig. 👍🏾
Thank you very much 🙏. I heard the braided loop is great. Problem I see is that it’s too expensive and you have to pick a specific size. The price I think is the biggest reason.
the fitness app annoyed me and told me i was walking and shit so i turned it off.
Lubricate that garage door!!
Twice a year if you want it to keep running well. 😀👍 Still need to do it. Thanks for watching.
Wow.. Elon Musk himself!
You know it. Too much time on my hands and started a channel.
$450 for knubby micro-headphones in your ears? Absolutely insane!
who is spending that? I use AirPods that cost half of that
