Don’t do engineering in biotech..waste of money and 4 years of education… no jobs after BTech biotech and you will be forced to do MBA or go to software field….
Hello Sabeen ! Btech Biotechnology Engineering is an really good course you can go for it, but you need to know some points priorly that in India to get jobs as Bioprocess engineer or Biopharmaceutical engineer or any other field of biotech right after Btech is not possible because biotech industries are still developing in India they are not as in other countries right now so prefer masters in your interested fields and they try for jobs . You can go for masters in abroad especially in U.S or Australian universities complete that work there for some years and return back definitely you'll get an Great opportunity in India since you have an foreign experience! If masters in India is not feasible then you can go for Mtech in IITs as well it's a good option though. Remember during Btech Course try to join some training/ internship in Biotechnology related although many trainings are paid but they really help in future perspectives as well as during seeking job because you have done something extra other than curriculum. Lastly don't expect higher packages as well from biotech companies since they are booming in India and also health care sector is developing so no one will give you higher packages at-least for 5 to 10 years ahead .. That's it from my side ! It's really interesting field trust me when you'll be learning it in depth you'll really feel that it's an unique course rather than other engineering courses... And also one thing try to connect Biotech Industry experts throught world using LinkdeIn!!

Bioinformatics is an all computer (program) based field which deals with data storage/presentation..... Biotech includes lab work, bioprocess, industrial application and soo on.....

If I do phd from abroad, will I have opportunities for GOVERNMENT job as a scientist in India? Or even PERMANENT job as a scientist in abroad? Because after jrf I think GOVERNMENT job chances as a scientist are 90%in India. Please reply me sir. My area of interest is Biomedical Science
