- There are a lot of requests made in the comments of Dream Build videos, it seems that a lot of you want to see more variety in the components used and occasionally bikes which are more affordable whilst still being super special and unique...
This Marin Hawk Hill is a great example of building a bike which is different to the usual examples seen, more affordable whilst being incredibly fun to ride on a range of different trails. I spec'd each piece on this bike myself and I'm really happy with what we managed to create, you don't need to spend tens of thousands to have a Dream Build if you don't want to...
Bars, Cranks, Headset, Bottom Bracket, Wheels are covered by FSA which make a huge variety of really nice and functional products, the cranks might not be carbon but they are super light and I was really impressed with the finish:
/ fsa_mtb
Suspension is provided by Manitou:
/ manitoumtb
Gearing and brakes are a mixture of mostly Shimano SLX 12 speed, with a Deore cassette and XTR rapid fire shifter:
/ shimanomtb
The frame is a small Marin Hawk Hill:

Tyres are a mixture of Pirelli enduro and hard terrain for the rear:

We're working with Park Tool, they're some of the best tools in the business and it would be a shame to be building these incredible bikes without some equally awesome tools!

CAN YOU GIFT ME A FORK FOR 26 FOR MY BIKE.
I wish I could be given a bike even though it would be a low price just accepting it happy and sincere in my heart I was always watching your videos and wishing you could give me a bike. I am from the Philippines if you want to contact me this is my Facebook account 🤍 facebook.com/justin.custodio.5036 🤍
Like why are you begging him for a bike. He’s not gonna give you one. Like just be happy with what you got. I mean I got a bikes direct bike and it sucks. But I don’t complaine because you can ride it and have fun. So just look at your bike and be happy with the one you got and be lucky you got one.
Sana all
This mechanic is the kind of guy that fits the brake calipers spot on the first try
This mechanic is the kind of guy that sews a razor blade in to the brim of his hat.
It's super easy if the precision is good with both the parts + mounting points(fork + frame)
Problems occur with low precision parts, and of course also the condition of them. Sadly the bike industry is known for a generally low precision all in all.
Hey guys 🙌🏻We're stoked to be working with Dream Builds for 2021 - looking forward to helping Gee and the crew build loads of beautiful bikes!
Thank you for the support! I'm looking forward to 2021!
That greases looks so industrial... what a colours ;0)))))))) In that case I prefare Muc-off....also the tube with injector looks better than can with cover...sorry guys
u better get Gee some JuiceLubes gloves
I'm bicycle mechanic too, but in countryside of Russia, so I only dreaming of working on and ride bikes like this. However my old Jamis Trail-X not so bad for commuting and city riding.
Thank you guys for your videos, it is pleasure to watch!
Finally! A dream build I can afford and see myself build one in the future, actually have manitou fork and SLX breaks on my hardtail. This one is really refreshing when you have all of those drool worthy super bikes, more of this "budget builds" on your channel please 🤙
When I was a kid, I used to love quietly watching my dad as he worked on the car or some other home project. These videos make me feel like that kid again. No talking, no loud background music, just quietly watching someone do their work. I could watch these videos all day. I hope to build my own dream (gravel) bike one day. Your videos keep my dream alive. Thank you.
Wow, what a compliment! Thank you! I'm glad you love watching my videos that much and I'm sure at some point you'll build your own!
Finally, a build where the frame doesn't cost twice as much as my whole bike! Great vids, keep it up.
Yeah nice to see a more reasonable/everyday build vs the super bike usual. Although they are drool worthy I like seeing this kind of build also.
There is something satisfying about watching the process of building a bike. Thank you for your videos. I think I’ve watched them all and they bring so much joy to my heart. It’s hard to explain. When I can’t ride, or upgrade my bike, these videos just bring me.........joy.
I accomplished my own dream build for just under 3k! 2017 Transition Patrol alloy frame, RockShox Deluxe with MegNeg air can, Ohlins RXF 36 EVO fork, Race Face ARC 30 Offset rims laced to Shimano M8100 XT hubs wrapped in GoodYear Newton and Newton ST tires with Ultimate Enduro casings and 203mm Sram Centerline rotors. I used Sapim Laser spokes, Wheel Smith nipples and Whisky washers. Magura MT Trail brakeset, Shimano 12 speed SLX groupset with XT shifter (multi-release FTW) DMR Defy stem and Deathgrips, Race Face Chester bar, Brand X Ascend XL 170mm dropper post, Bike Yoke Sagma saddle and Crank Bros Mallet 2 pedals. . . Only the frame w/shock and pedals were used. EVERYTHING else was Brand spanking new! Got the fork on an end of year closeout sail, brakeset on sale on Merlin cycles, wheels cost me around 330 for parts and built em myself. It's by no means a super bike and of course I'd love an AXS groupset, PUSH elevensix shock, EXT Era fork, Zipp Moto rims laced to Onyx Vespers and Shigura XT5 brakes but I'm extremely proud of what I accomplished for just over $2,900. Eliminating bike shop labor fees by taking the time to learn how to do everything yourself saves TONS of money
Oooh someone’s got a fancy new Lube sponsor! And great to see the new Manitou’s, another dream build indeed 👌
Glad you enjoyed the variety!
I have loved Marin bikes since my friend had one in high school in the '90s. Matt Jones has recently brought them back to the forefront for me and in 2020 a bike shop in Owen Sound (where I live) started selling them. I really like their range of bikes. Great Build!!!
We've done a few Marin's now and I've been really impressed with them to be honest.
Wow a marin siick cant wait. Im riding a san Quinton 2 hardtail. I'm just absolutely in love with it
0:44 When we sometimes forgot about the direction of rotation at Manitous but we are careful not to make damage in the shaft. Congrat for the nice video. :)
Bruh... I was waiting for the premier... Turns out its tomorrow 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
It's very strange but interesting that everyone watches for the bikes but yet straight away we pick up on new lubes and greases.😂. Nice build.😎
Haha of course
My favorite build of all. Because it's more realistically in my economy. Keep it a mix, and you got the fix!
Nice to see some new kit from Manitou and FSA included vs the more well know larger brands that seem to be the same on every bike.
It’s good to see a more budget dream build
Do a Kona Honzo ESD build. The Honzo ESD frame looks so amazing.
friend, you inspire me to continue with my little bike repair shop, thank you.
Here’s a tip for your mechanic, gee, for when he’s putting sealant in the tyres: put some tubing on the pump nozzle of the juicy lube bottle of sealant, like the tubing used on the MucOff sealant bottles before, so he can put the tubing over the valve like he did before to put sealant in, saves it going everywhere on the rim and elsewhere, it’s a lot easier to use too. Few pumps, no mess
First time to see some Manitou Used in this Dream build.
It's just incredible how professional everything is.
I always find the build videos so relaxing
Who's been waiting for too long and then you fell asleep.
the most wonderful art of the cycles fantasty
Nice to see more of the every day bikes 🤟 don't get me wrong its nice seeing the drool worthy ones as well 🤣🔥 keep up the good work Gee 👍
Me encanta como haces tú trabajo, es muy satisfactorio, espero corazón ♥️
great video as always. My only "critique" would go to the new Parktool wall. I somehow liked the old authentic wall, somehow chaotic but yet with some kind of order in it. It was simply a great fit that evolved with the shop. this one seems too new and too shiny :)
My first thought: Where is the Muc-Off grease?
Juice Lubes are the new workshop partner for 2021
@@GeeMilner don't forget the gloves
Another beautiful build
Your All Dreams build is amazing 👍🏻 Brother love ❤️ from India
Awesome build awesome video and awesome colors
Thank you man, excellent, awesome, well done
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another cracking build, cheers guys 👍👍, I've read quite a few comments, there's more people upset about muc off than anything 😅😅🤦♂️🤦♂️
The shot at 20:56 is really nice
this man has so much patience
As always you are the best. Congrats
Love that pair of wheelset
Linda bicicleta, saludos desde Colombia🇨🇴🇨🇴😎
Lovely build. Would be great if we could see a Cotic build this year, understand it must be hard getting all the frames and parts though with the current shortage!
Looks like the new grease sponsor taught the mechanic to apply grease carefully... 🙂
😆
Still got loads of 'Use all the Grease' T-shirts to sell, I didn't think this through..
Раньше он так не экономил ))).
thanks Gee, for inspiring me to upgrade my hawk hill 1 :)
I ride this same bike in a large frame... awesome build
That manitou fork looks pretty sweet.
How i wish i could get one of those my first dream build bike, love to watch your vid here in philippines💙
This guy has some imagination too have this many dream bikes
Congratulations, I follow the channel and admire your work, I'm also a bike mechanic in Brazil, I didn't know this brand of grease.
Mucoff have left the chat
but this grease 😍
@@enuazeal it looks so clean. I want it for my shop
Nice work ❤️
How do you get that discontinued frame! I would love to buy Marin frame only.
Ahhh! The XTR shifter who was missed in the last Video 😂
And all the cable zips dont look nice 😔
WoW, new sponsors! 😎👍
Que bella es la horquilla manitou ❤. Saludos DB ☠ desde Chile 🇨🇱
THE BIKE OF LIFE
Awesome cool bike👍🤘❤
Finally a group set that I can have..
Ahh Juice Lubes, amazing! Use these exact things on my build.
Can you do a San Quentin 3 build!?!?
I think it's FSA No 57E, Semi-Sealed Cartridge Bearings, 1 1/8" x 1 1/2" if so, do you think there will be a problem with changing the angle if I replace the existing fork that is on the bike from the stock market for a fork that is an inch and a half longer from the axle of the wheel to the beginning of the bottom of the neck?thank you for your reply
🤟المزيد من المشاهدة رائعا👌👌
Any prospects of fixed gear/ track bikes? Not knowing my UK geography... I know Mercian makes a sexy bike I would love to see built up.
Beautiful build! Was so strange not seeing the mucoff products though HAHAHAHA
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed!
I have a marin hall hill, the lowest tier hall hill is a great budget full suspension
Why is there a picture of Mao by the door?
Theres all sorts of weird stuff in the workshop!
The bike is so nice 👌🚲🤘
Dude are there like courses for this? Like building from scratch MTBs like these guys do? Bro I'd love to do this, seems so cool and therapeutical.
I just bought these brakes for my hardtail nice
I also bought these brakes two months ago for my XC hardtail.
They're amazing brakes, insane performance at a good price
At least they're another UK company !!
Their American
Oh boy👌👌
And my dream job assembling my dreambike
Nice build
I'm getting the 2021 Hawk Hill. Wish I could get the 2020 model because the frame looks much nicer but well. It is what it is. At least the spec is a bit better.
And all this lubes for everything! In Russia we use Lithol for everything :-D
id love to see a high spec S-Works Enduro build
It takes me about 4 hours to build a bike and this guy can do it in under 30 minutes.
No frame-up build takes less than an hour, they always take a number of hours to build. The higher the complexity, the longer the build time.
It a been cut quite a bit!
Me encantan tus videos ❤❤❤
Does anyone know the mechanics name? Does he have any social media accounts. He is amazing to watch.
Super mountain bike
Nice ride
Dream Build
Just perfect
Been watching your builds since 2018, is there any way I can order that top cap? Thanks Gee.
Yes! Please head to the link below:
dreambuildstore.com/shop/p/dream-build-topcap
I know that it would be a lot of work but could you upload a list on your website of every tool you have? Or are all your tools from one specific brand? I love your videos btw. Keep it up💪😁
They’re from Park Tool
I wonder from where do you get all of those accesories 🙄
What a cool bike❤️ shout out to all filipinos watching this vidoe😉...
could you have a dartmoor primal/hornet dreambuild? Would love to see that! 🤙
Cool build... I wish i could also get one😥😍
Orange 224 next ??🔥🔥fire build tho
Coooooooooooool
MORE BUDGET BUILDS!!
Me: starts watching video
Takes forks apart:
Me: yay he is making them the right way around 😂 silly manitou
is there a complete list of used parts somewhere?
Why did he decrease the travel?
The bike's ride would have been compromised running a 160mm fork.
I have the same bike. back is 120mm and forward is 130mm.
@@GeeMilner thanks for the info 👍
You and Muc off end the colab?
Change is good, just wanted to go down a different direction this year and work with a few different brands, I'm sure we'll work together at some point in the future!
Isn't that a Rift Zone 29er frame? unless you got one custom painted to match
this guy has more tools than a car master technician xd
Wow I like it
Were did you buy the MTB yt Jeffery's eagle asx I want to order one
Nice bike
