marvelous view .. i’m totally delighted watching this amazing video .. thank you for taking us on this virtual journey .. and greetings from 🇮🇩 Indonesia ..
Thanks for the video. Very informative, crisp and clear. Planning Sapa on December 2nd and I know it will be wet and cold, but that is the only time, I can spare. I will use your advise to visit other village rather than cat cat.
is Fansipan always cloudy..? I've checked many videos and didn't see any clear weather there.. that's why I'm afraid to go there then will be disappointed with clouds
It does seem to be cloudy quite a bit unfortunately. If you’re staying there for a couple days or longer, we highly recommend taking a look at the weather conditions that morning before committing to heading up there. In our video at the very end we mentioned that it would have been smarter had we switched the days (village first day then Fansipan the day after) but unfortunately we had already purchased our Fansipan tickets.
In August we are going to visit Sapa. This is the third visit in Vietnam. We had been longing for visiting Sapa but the covid thing happened. We waited for three years. Your video made me happy and made me want to visit there as soon as we can. What is the distance from Sapa to Lao cai village? How long did it take to get there by bike? When did you shoot your video? Sorry for asking you so many questions?
We’re so glad you enjoyed the video! We’re happy to answer any questions. It took about 15 minutes by motorbike to reach the village but we asked the driver to drop us off further from the village so we can enjoy the scenery as we walked down. We went in march! As it was dryer season you can the rice fields are a bit brown rather than a vibrant green.
You guys have posted so many videos since I last checked 😂 damn. I'm late to this one but I'm amazed at this place. Loved the moody shots and so sweet that you go to see your mum's country, Lauren 💖
I have lived in Vietnam 22 years and granted, it does have some lovely places where you can see a nice view and scenery, but that is usually a definite spot. Most of the country is trash-ridden, dirty, dusty, noisy, dangerous, unsanitary with many shady, untrustworthy people. It is not a glamorous, heaven-on-Earth place. Few Vietnam videos tell you that you need vaccines against typhoid, hepatitis, and to be careful around many people who have tuberculosis and other diseases. Dengue fever can be caught anywhere and many tourists are ill after 2-3 days in country due to bacteria in food and on utensils. There is also chikungunya . You also need insurance (or cash) that covers you in Vietnam and pays IMMEDIATELY! No payment, no treatment at hospitals. Tourists are ripped-off most everywhere on prices. Must have Vietnam drivers license and motobike insurance to drive a motorbike. Don't trust anyone. Chain your money to yourself. Theft everywhere. FYI
We actually visited in late March! During October I wouldn’t worry too much about wind but rather the rainy conditions as the wet season is just ending!
We actually walked around 95% of the time! Most of the accommodations are quite close to the town center so whether it was to grab food to went to Sapa station to get up to Fansipan, we walked no more than about 15 or so minutes. There are taxis everywhere if you didn’t want to walk!
You can book your tickets up to the mountain here which gives you the most up to date pricing! www.klook.com/en-CA/activity/11904-fansipan-cable-car-ticket-transfers-sapa/?spm=SearchResult.SearchResult_LIST&clickId=2be84382d1/?aid=39554 (You can also use our code LAURENJASON) for 5% off)
Here’s a quick price breakdown which in CAD which you can convert over to whichever currency you use (this is for 3 nights)! Transportation to/around Sapa: $90 Hotel: $245 for 3 nights Fansipan Mountain: $120 Food: $45
We went at the start of March! In December it’s the coldest month so make sure to pack warm clothes. It’s also quite foggy/misty so beware of the conditions if you’re planning on visiting Fansipan mountain. But the good news since it’s very low season prices are much lower and significantly less touristy!
Nice area, but Sapa itself is not that great. Every 20 meter the offered goods repeat, many western tourists and pretty much trash laying around. Take care that you don't get scammed, eg. The price for a pack of tea ( they all sell the same stuff) was between 25 000 to 100 000 VD around 1-4$. Try the chestnut cakes, they taste great and you'll find em on every corner. Most "handcrafted" stuff repeats too and comes from china. The nature is really nice and should be the true reason to visit this region. Sapa is more like a basecamp from where you start your trips.
Thank you for the advice! Sometimes it’s easy to get sucked into some scammy tactics. We still loved Sapa for the landscapes and for meeting people from the Black Hmong community!

Amazing but what i like most is the fact that you answer people's questions. This is so rare here in youtube.

When is the best time to visit Sapa? The time when there's no lots of fog
April to May is usually when the skies are the clearest while Sept-Oct are when the rice fields are the most green and vibrant!

We were there from late March to mid April! Sapa specifically we were there in late March!
Hows the weather in mid jan? Wanting to experience some cold
It’s quite cold during that time but at least it won’t be rainy season!
Hi! Do you think jan and feb will be the best time to visit Sapa?
It’ll be winter in that region so it will definitely be a bit cold but with that said, it won’t be as busy and cheaper too!
