I just bought a 2011 is350 f sport and it's awesome. Traded in my Audi A4 and so glad I did. I've ordered Momo shift knob and Injen cold air intake. Mines all black like yours. Awesome channel keep the vids coming brotha. Cheers
Haha IS350 is a sleeper and a gem of car. Not the fastest on the road, but not the slowest either. It's also one of the best used car bargains because they last, and last, and last!
Both times are not so good especially the IS-F. I believe you need to shift manually on the IS-F to get better times. The IS350 on the other hand make sure that the VSC/Trac is off and the PWR set to Normal not ECT. ECT automatically shifts a little early hence you lose a bit of power. You need to brake-torque launch anywhere from 1300 rpm to 2000 rpm depending on the road condition and temp. Also did you race at 1/8 tank of gas? Did you remove spare tire, carpets, and manual? Looks like you weigh quite a bit probably around 200+ lbs? That will hurt performance. 95~ 150 lbs would be better. Rear tire pressure needs to be 38 or 40 PSI. And front 48 PSI. Did you do tune up before the race? Change out the spark plugs and ignition coil if both have never been replaced before. U using mobile 1 full synthetic? What was the temp and altitude at the dragstrip you raced? Stock IS350 on a nice weather and good launch can get you 13.1~ 13.2xx quarter @ 104~ 105 mph.
Good information. They are not the best times considering it’s our first time ever drag racing. I had traction off in the 350, but ECT on. The ISF was the same deal. My brother and I are both over 200 lbs and 6 ft tall so I’m not sure we can easily change that lol. I had my tires to about 25psi on the Is350. I’d love to do it again and get better times. Nothing was removed, I had over an 1/8 tank of gas and no tune up, but that may help! I’m not too sure on the track specs. Cecil county dragway in Maryland
I think you have your ECT terminology wrong. ECT is the feature; Power, Normal and Snow (on some cars) are typically the settings. By design ECT PWR increases throttle response and holds shift points longer. That said, there's no reason anyone would want to run in ECT "Normal" while drag racing.
@@alexkillian1133 The person that posted about ECT posted misinformation. By design ECT PWR increases throttle response and holds shift points longer. I leave mine on all the time, but then again I have a GS400 and it needs all the help it can get!
I just sold my 350. Best time was 13.27 @ 105.15 I now have a MY10 ISF and will be documenting the build process and lots of track time. It is summer here now so I am not expecting a 12, maybe 13.10s I would guess. Find out in 3 weeks.
Finally the video I've been looking for!! I've always wanted to compare real life numbers with the IS350 vs IS-F. I've seen plenty of RUclips videos of both cars but never on the same track. This helps give a true breakdown of exactly how much quicker the ISF is. I've had my 07 IS350 since 2009 and I'm about to join the ISF Club thanks for the video!! P.s. how did you launch both cars by the way??
Bro you would have gotten a better time if you would of been revving the car to like 2 grand then just let go of the break. That challenger launched it sick .
Were you in S-mode? I heard the best way to get the fastest time on 2IS IS350 is by leaving it in D, ect pwr off, and just mashing the throttle to the floor.
2:41 The IS350 has and open differential, no limited slip. Hence the one legger. You should look into 235/35-18 front, 265/30-18 rear if you're thinking about putting it on track. This setup fits the 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears perfectly with very close outside diameter dimensions. 245 in the rear is narrower than stock and might upset the balance when loading up in corners.
255/40-18 is the stock rear size, but I don't like the bigger rear tire look so I made them even. They'll fit, I'm running that setup on my 06 IS350 with 18x8.5, 35mm front offset and 18x9.5, 40mm rear offset Miro 112 wheels(now discontinued), dropped 2 inches. I could get away with 35mm rear offset with no rub, so I might throw a 5mm spacer to push the rear wheels out flush. Minor rub in front behind the headlights, but heating and pushing the liners in fixes that. You could probably get away with 18x10, 40mm offset on the rears without rubbing.
Pfff 12.3 in an ISF? Nah The gearing is less than stellar for drag racing. The IS350 has amazing gearing. Hence why it can hang with the ISF through the 1/8 mile
I own ISF. you have to put it in F mode to really kick some ass. Auto mode is not giving you the best result in racing situation. Dont waste money on intake pretty much a waste on Fs go with Sikky Header and Catback. I cant afford header yet but my boy has it and RR Catback its fast....honestly if you drive the shit out of it the F does well even with just a full catback as it eliminates 2 of the cats..another thing drive the F hard because the computer is constantly monitoring how you drive especially when you get exhaust/header work.
As far as handling, the lowering springs, wider wheels and tires, and front strut bar brace really helped. Many people also do a bigger rear sway bar. It already handles decent in stock form, but it can always be improved.
At this point I just had a hard pipe intake and an eBay exhaust I believe. My car definitely feels a lot better now, over a year later with better parts and maintenance
On the official recorded times, the ISF is only about .7-.8 of a second faster than a 350 on the 1/4 mile. We think the KN typhoon intake and tires were affecting the times. The stock intake and tune now works a lot better.
LOL. I have a 2012 is350 and I was thinking the same thing the other day. I would rather see a 2jz swap into mine though, LS swaps have become too normal... as crazy as it sounds. 600whp would be enough for me. About as fast as my old DD 500whp dsm. 5-600 is about the limit for a daily driver IMO.
Automotive TV never had issues really but the open diff wasn’t the best for burnouts 😂 I got a 2013 Camaro SS, manual. More power, torque and an LSD with a manual.
@@MartyMotoring Oh interesting, im not sure weather to get an infinity 2007+ infiniti g35x/g37x or 2006+ lexus is350 AWD (they sell is350 awd in canada). Which would you recommend?
It did 13.3, and the recorded times are like 12.5-12.9. So you’re right. It’s 3800lbs and only 416hp. We also used Drive mode instead of manual mode which was a mistake. The KN Typhoon filter was terrible also, so we put the stock one back now, got Borla exhaust and a tune. Runs great now!
Marty Motoring yeah I believe at the time of that run he did have carbon fiber stuff replace the hood and other parts. He had headers, exhaust, intake, I think that’s all. If you look his car up on insta I’m sure you’ll like it @quick350

@Marc Mars It feels faster having the Pwr Switch On, Traction Control Off and In Sport Manual Mode

can you get it in a manual transmission or just automatic with paddle shifters?
