For centuries the nodes of the Moon 'Rahu' and 'Ketu' have baffled Vedic astrologers in terms of the results they give in their 'mahadasha' and 'antardasha'.
In fact, when it comes to analyzing their influence in a person's life from the perspective of transits, it becomes even more tricky as there doesn't really seem to be a consensus on how to look at and understand at their impact.
I have spent a lot of years reading, writing and researching on the topic of the 'nodes' and have been lucky to have received a lot of love and recognition for the same. In this series, I seek to share this knowledge with my viewers along with a very unique perspective that will not only help you understand the energy of the nodes but also how to channel that energy to fulfill your life purpose.
With each episode, we shall be studying the impact of the North node and South node of the Moon via placements in the natal chart, 'Navamsha' (D-9), 'Dashamasha'(D-10), 'Shashtiamsha' (D-60) and transits. I will expand into the other divisional charts as well but let's hope and aim to fulfill the primary objectives first.
RAHU in EIGHTH house in birth chart
Whenever you have the North node of the Moon 'Rahu' in the eighth house of the birth chart, that shows us that one of the primary objectives of your soul in this lifetime is learning how to transform and tap in to your personal power.
The North node in the eighth house is often looked at many astrologers as a bad and difficult placement in terms of its impact on married life, inheritance, sex life and mental health of the native but in reality this is a placement shared by some of the most intelligent and innovative people in the world who know how to take risks to realize big goals and dreams.
The only thing that matters here is how you become conscious of and navigate this energy in terms of discovering and applying your keen observation skills, intuition, strong instincts and oodles of personal power. This is where you need to understand things with a little more depth.
The perspective here is more on what 'Rahu' placed in the eighth house is trying to show you about your soul's desire in the material plane. I have Rahu ketu in 8/2 axis. I gave a lot of importance to stability esp financial. But now I have started taking risks in life and i am trying to find satisfaction in it. Have started to learn astrology.

I am a leo ascendent.Have Rahu with Jupiter in that position.. From Birth I have been suffering due to many health issues. But I was ok. But when Rahu mahadasa entered in 2008 that's the beginning of new era of physical suffering. Still now I am suffering from health issues which are very common but not permanently curable..especially stomach issues..Got Government job.. But as You say neither I am physically nor financially become stable.. Now Chandra antardasa.. 😢😢😢.. What will I do??
Mine ketu in 2nd house and rahu in 8th in dhanu lagna kundali with scorpio rashi. Very bad childhood mental health issue physical health issues. No stable career..... Rahu in 8th house together with Sun and Mercury- I don’t know if it because of this placement it gives me deep longing to find my way back to my soul’s home, it leads me to investigate and research all things spiritual. I'm glad it helped. See it can apply to the divisional charts as well to an extent.. however the true interpretation of the divisional charts cannot be made without referring to the placements in the D-1 relative to it. Focus more on the house placement(Rahu in 1st) but know that it probably will also carry a lot of the energy of Rahu in 8th by virtue of being placed in the 8th sign.

21.04.85 5.08pm Chennai born female, divorcee with no kids. Lost interest to work as employee and been home maker living with dad because mother died end of 2018 december. All this happened beginning of rahu dasha. My rahu is in aries, kanya lagna. Sun in ashwini 3 Moon bharani 3 and Rahu bharani 4. I am going through rahu dasha saturn bhukthi right now. I lost interest in life and dealing heavy depression with obesity and very bad health. I feel like disposing the god photos and vigrahas in my pooja room and have no god goddess image at all in home. Dont know why this extreme urge. Whats stopping me is its my family grandmother time stuff so hesitating to do this but daily I am thinking how to dispose whole pooja shelves. Try leaving your place of birth and family you are born in for a while, that should help. Gather courage and move out. Try to do something on your own. I have same placements and I gained a lot in Rahu mahadasha when I moved out of my home town and stayed away from family. The moment I come back to my hometown things turn around. I get lazy, lethargic, with blurred vision of my goals. Do this, also watch his video on Ketu in 2nd house. That will help you with more clarity on what you should do. I know you have kids so it will be tough decision to make but you got to take the risk and transform into the best and strong version of yourself . Best wishes!😊
Rahu Mahadasha can be overwhelming, you have to go through the tough times as its inevitable. There can sudden be losses, but dont forget there will be gains as well. Try to grow during this time, learn new things like new skills, make new friends or meet new people. Also during this time disposing photos ,vigrhas and having depression and bad health is normal. Also, keep in mind that god is not only physically persent but is present everywhere. Rahu dasha has both GAINS and losses dont forgert. So keep pushing.

I've always been afraid to associate with people and prefer being alone, and it scares me to spend my whole life with someone else. I womder if this has something to do with this placement.
On my career front though, ive found my best success always when i rebound from a hopeless situation, often when I'm so hopeless that i don't care what happens when i take a risk to solve something - which to my surprise puts me in a much better place than if i were not in a bad situation
I do have ketu along with Mars. I understand your concern. I would suggest you to do an arranged marriage matching horoscopes. There will be a lot of alliances that will agree for marriage and revert at the last moment. Don't lose hope ketu is blocking the alliances and there will be a delay. Don't think too much about marriage and get attached to a person whom you are planning to marry.
Ketu is detachment. He'll take away the things that you are getting attached to.
So be neutral, things will fall in place

On the contrary.. marriage.. alliances and relationships are what you are supposed to experience and learn in this lifetime, with the north node 'Rahu' in the 8th.. as the 7th house represents gain from relationships while also your own personal power. So .. I'm not saying 'fall into love with reckless abandon' but I am indeed saying that you need to learn to take risks when you truly desire something.. relationship or otherwise.. strongly.. and then also back yourself to be okay with your ability to be fine with it even if it doesn't work out! Otherwise you know... 'Ketu' in the second house of stability will just keep you stuck in an emergy of stagnation afraid of moving forward even if it is in the direction of your true fulfillment.. albeit with a few risks. I did. It happened during my school days. I was a school topper. I participated in all competitions even though I was shy and introvert and mostly won those competitions. I was quite popular in school. Then I had accident. And later typhoid which was almost killing. I suddenly became average student.
Suddenly became over sensitive and fearful. Rahu gives a lot in beginning but takes away everything.
