It's looking real good. Checkout the area where your going fishing. What types of fish your fishing for. Make sure that you 2 get the right fishing poles for the type of fish your fishing for before the tournament. The right bait and fishing lures that your going to need before you 2 Win the fishing tournament. That's it. Good Luck
I've spray painted hundreds of autos and I found a cheap way to mix small batches of color was to take a straight 40 cm or so length of steel or thick aluminium wire (an old wire coat hanger works nicely) and bend 15 cm at one end into a flat bottom triangle. Chucked in a drill, it will stir your paint quite well, even getting into the corners. To ensure any chunky bits won't cloge the sprayer, it's good practice to strain the mix as you fill the cup. Not knocking your methods, just offering some time saving tips for future paint jobs. I think the fish will be fighting to be pulled aboard such a spiffy looking craft! 👍
love these episodes on the small boat. I think anybody could have a go at this but your big boat (whilst interesting) is very daunting to the average person, keep them coming x
Nice to see support from companies such as Raptor and tho I would never have thought of using it for the purpose, for a surface with a less-than-perfect finish where the last thing you want is a high gloss (which would show every imperfection) it's actually ideal.
Absolutely love your videos! You guys are the only creators at the moment who l actually wait with anticipation for the next video. Thank you! Hope you’re well
Quick suggestion. If it's not too late. How about a backing plate for that bow eye. Especially if it's taking half the boat's weight . She looks great so far !
I've had similar experience with local paint suppliers here in Suffolk getting cellulose paint for a 1972 car. I was recommended M&P and Paul couldn't have been more helpful. He was even able to identify my obscure paint code without looking it up. Everything was supplied within a few days by mail order.
Too give the color depth you can add a clearcoat in gloss, semi gloss or flat the paint job looks awesome 👌 can't wait to see what color you picked out for the topside I bet it's awesome 😎
I think the Copper poppy would be a lovely name for the boat, as a nod to the Sarinda and all those copper nails, and of course, never forgetting. But i love everything you all do! I had a knitting teacher that said the bid pompoms on top of wooly hats was to save you from hitting your head on the low ceilings in boats. Who knew?
Hope you were using about a 2.0 or larger needle/ nozzle on your paint gun. That is very viscus material and too small of an needle combo will give a very dry finish. U-POL products are very good. I sold them in my automotive/industrial paint store here in Alaska for many years. Now retired I restore my classic car collection(over 50).
How to roll a boat over - go and ask the dockies in Neath! 🙂 - - Wasn't there a pop song, a few years back, about dancing on the ceiling? - - What was that about watching paint dry? 🙂
Nice job , I was a bit worried about that bow eye if it would take the weight , a rope wrapped around the middle of the boat may have helped you rotate it more easy . It is nice to see how an old boat soon looks a million dollars with a bit of TLC and imagination. 😊
Another brilliant clip guys. I'm fascinated with that paint , I used to trade cars and paint them in my garage and that system looks so much easier ~ well done again first class entertainment
Nice goin m8s, saw the facebook post, you didn't drop it. I have confidence in your abilities. I've seen the hull, looking forward to the cabin, I wondered about insulation, it'll be cold on the water.Looks way better than me an I got 21 years on it. If what you've been saying about the paints, you'll stand out. Looking forward to splash day.. Thanks m8s, doin well.
Looks great after all the stripping, filling, sanding, blowing and wiping. Curious about no primer first. Is that because of the paint mix type and color? No need for a third coat or two top clear coats for extra pop? Any plans for a new waterline marker/stripe?
Glad to see you using respirators while sanding the anti fouling paint. That stuff will make you really sick. I know, because I used to sand that in my 20’s without any protection. Learned my lesson.
Where I come from, Australia, Marine Ply and Exterior Ply are basically the same thing, it is just that Marine Ply has a nicer veneer finish to make it look better.
Looks good ! Do you need a clear coat over the main coat for that extra shine as you do with most metallic paint.? One with a UV barrier in it as being on the water seems to accelerate any possibility of paint fade from UV. Shame to have that happen. I wonder what the top colour will be.
Much better than boaring white. Will give the boat another 60 years. Been watching from first video's and wait for the next, plus it's nice to watch your helpers chipping in.
If you ever have to remove anti-fouling paint again, an old boy told me a good trick which is tried and tested. Try caustic soda mixed with wall paper paste, generously blob it on, then stick newspapers to it, leave for about 15 minutes and power wash it off.
Good to see ya doing something else although surprise it,s a boat.... Great job Team nice paint job on the Hull. Ya gonna have to put a Racing Stripe on it. She is going to look Fabulous when done. I concur one bad experience at a store can ruin reputation of said establishment. Good to see ya found someone that knows what customer service is I suspect they will now be your go to Paint suppliers for when Sarinda needs a lick or two. Keep at now. ;0)
Paint looks good, it must be nice doing up a small boat where the whole job is in a far shorter timeframe than the other one … nice change to watch as well 👍🏼 … good luck fishing 🎣 🤣
You can get bigger nozzles and needles for the spray gun if you need a bit more flow (especially with the extra flake) but still looks like a good job. The amount of time I’ve had to sand boats it’s never ending. The last big boat I had to sand the whole hull was HSL 102, constant black dust for a few weeks but worth it for the finish. I could go into the little tips and tricks to get a much better finish but by the looks of it you’re doing a good job. Keep it up.
That's a really cool paint system. Considering repainting my 1960 Frogeye Sprite from its current white with a faint green tint to literally any other color.
Many years ago when I was young and foolish (now old and still foolish) I had a keelboat that had white hard shell anti foul paint on it when I bought it and i decided to sand it back and re paint it. So I started sanding without a respirator or even a paper mask. After 10 minutes I almost passed out. Turned out the the anti-fouling paint was arsenic based and not the stuff you need to breath in unless you have a death wish. Anyway it was a lesson learned. I doubt if the paint on this boat is arsenic based as it was banned may years go. Good to see you using the correct respirator
Not 100% sure as my fiber glassing experience was with costume helmets, but I'm sure I remember reading that boating gelcoat has wax added to help with water proofing a boat, so using heat may have compromised the boat, so good call.
They sanded the gelcoat off. The wax isn’t used to waterproof. When gelcoat dries it has to be in zero oxygen for it to dry properly so the wax rises to the top of it to create a seal over the gelcoat preventing oxygen from getting to it. You can get it without wax if you’re putting more than one coat but the last coat has to have wax in it so it can dry. Hope this helps 👍
You continue to amaze me. I started watching this channel once in awhile, then subscribed, then started watching every episode, now like automatically, before I start a video. Does anyone know if Raptor is available in the US?
Yes I have watched this one Aswel. Nice to see your progress. If you would like fishing tips for your fishing competition. I have a lot of fishing videos full of information. I dont make your normal look a fish o look another fish. I explain what I'm doing and why etc and show how to set up and stuff. It may be helpful to you. Goodluck with everything if you wanted to ask any questions fire away I will do my best to help
Simon said fiberglass doesn’t really deteriorate. Well, it does, but not if it lives on a trailer. If it lived on the water year ‘round, it would eventually become a bit porous.
Didn't get a response from you guys on using that boat as your dingy for Sarinda. It is the perfect size for your tender considering the size of your ship. It also has the advantage of a covered portion which is great for hauling groceries and stuff. Be silly not to use it considering.
Well it didn’t take that long to sand her down, looks like you really enjoyed the preparation work.😂 looking forward to seeing to the topside ❤ great work.
Not at all, and over a year on the paint is still in perfect condition, and we had it in a marina for a while with no anti fouling and no growth stuck to it!
I wonder if a tutorial on how to subscribe would be helpful. On hand held devices its easy, but on a TV its a bit different. On a Roku tv it would be helpful I think.

I'm a land locked American living in the USA, but I look forward to your videos. Can't wait to see the next one. The boat is going to be awesome.
Great to see you putting the same time and effort into the small boat as you put into Sarinda. Looking forward to the next episode.
It's so satisfying to watch paint being applied. She's looking good!
I'm glad you're doing two boats. Breaks things up a bit. Now if we could get some Simon motorcycle racing video's up....
That's a sweet little boat...small enough to put into your back pocket but big enough to climb into out of the weather. I like it a lot.
It's looking real good. Checkout the area where your going fishing. What types of fish your fishing for. pink with purple spots and some flowers hrrrrrrrrr !!
Thanks! Enjoy both of you so much.
Thank you so much Bob xx
You seem to have a lot of fun playing with your boats both on and off the water!
Quick suggestion. If it's not too late. How about a backing plate for that bow eye. Especially if it's taking half the boat's weight . She looks great so far !
The boat is looking good with the paintjob looking forward to the topside paint and color.

Battleship grey can’t go worry with grey , great choice 👌

I just looked up "sketchy boat lifting and flipping" in the dictionary. There was a picture of this video in it. LOL Nice work. 👍

This ship is gonna happen!
You two are absolute legends!!

The paint job looks good so far guys. So the top side is going to be pink. My favorite color.
SO EXCITED! 😊
Install a heavy cleat to the bow beef up the fiberglass an you could tow it with the big boat.
Nice job , I was a bit worried about that bow eye if it would take the weight , a rope wrapped around the middle of the boat may have helped you rotate it more easy .
It is nice to see how an old boat soon looks a million dollars with a bit of TLC and imagination. 😊
Well done ,cant wait for the next one.
You should name it after the dday beach that didn't get used. It could be the HMS Jellyfish... ;-) The color looks great!
Loved the painting music 🎶
I Love your videos guys ! Awesome small boat. Cheers from Belgium 🙂

Gray non-skid is a very honest utilitarian work boat appearance,

Brilliant job guys…….
Wow, what a great job you two! I do love the color!
Thank you so much!
That is a nice colour.
Great story regarding M&P paint!
Them guys were truly incredible, couldn't of gone to a better supplier!
You had your own Posieden Adventure!!😂

good vid on channel nice work thanks lee
Thanks 👍
Red. Bright red with orange and yellow flames.
Awesome job now the top 😊
You didn't show it, but I assume you laid up fiberglass on the exterior of the transom, is that true?
Used raptor a few times ,made me feel like a paint sprayer 😁 fantastic product harder than a scouse lassie 😂🥃
Not 100% sure as my fiber glassing experience was with costume helmets, but I'm sure I remember reading that boating gelcoat has wax added to help with water proofing a boat, so using heat may have compromised the boat, so good call.

nice tender for serinda
Very nice. I have been looking at Raptor for boat tail roadster my kid is making.
Go for it!
It’s looking great. I love the color it reminds me of midnight metallic blue that I painted a car I restored. 🇺🇸👍🌹
You excited for the pink 🤣🤣
@@ShipHappensUK yes I can’t wait to see it!! Whatever you do I’m positive it will look great.🌹❤️
Pukka job. If I get over excited one day, I might do this to my little boat. 😂

I love that little boat. When i would have the papers i would buy it but i have taken never lessons to drive a boat like that.
Going to be a Great little fishing boat. You two are such an inspiration. Keep it up. You will love it when you get to christen it with fish blood..
Looks GREAT. CHEERS
Thank you! Cheers!
Very smart indeed
like you two haven't got enough to do !!

amazing... just needs some shiny bling now 😁
It sure does! Do you know a man that can?? 😉
@@ShipHappensUK I might do..... 🤪
Well it didn’t take that long to sand her down, looks like you really enjoyed the preparation work.😂 looking forward to seeing to the topside ❤ great work.
Truly about 4 days of sanding! And still at it now!!!
@@ShipHappensUK sanding so much work but so important to the finish. She will look amazing for sure 🛥️
@@squidward3fishingadventures she should be the best looking 45 year old boat in the classic!
At the paint firm, there’s shelves with containers and rotating doohickeys; what’s that about?
Think it was to mix the paint
This little build is a lot more interesting than the big boat which is far to repetitive
It's gonna take a few videos to be able to understand, good thing for subtitles:)
It's going to be a very nice tender.
What happened to your little flooters boat ?
Wont that blend in at sea if it flips, beautifull job
Was thinking about using raptor on a hull myself what have you guys found it to be like so far?
Over a year later it still looks like new!
so how much trouble did you get in for saying the skinny one has to go in
is this boat going to be your tender?
The mini Posiden Adventure...
I'm thinking of doing this to my hull? HAs it affected performance?

Niiiiice job thanks
Also can raptor paint be brushed and/or rolled on????
It can be rolled on x
I think you will regret not using marine ply for the interior lining.
So will she be being named Gemma or Emilia?
