His Haydn is beautiful, fiery, witty, light and elegant. Maestro Orozco-Estrada is undoubtedly one of the finest conductors in the world. Since he stepped down Wiener Symphoniker has not been the same orchestra. Fortunately (for us, music lovers), he will be Generalmusikdirektor in Köln next year.

is the Wiener Symphoniker moving away from the traditional Viennese horns?

Not even solists like Peter Dorfmayr like to play high Haydn parts on a single F Horn.

clavessin, "traditional"? That seems to mean little, considering that Haydn wrote the parts for the natural horn (no valves).
