He was big on Oregon just a couple of weeks ago. I'm an Oregon fan and even I think Oregon is in for it. Statistically, they are due for a loss and the game is on grass not turf. Also, I think there is a chance Gabriel will be sacked maybe 5 times if the offense doesn't find their legs and block without holding. They are going to have to be fast on their feet and play execution is going to have to be at a whole other level for Oregon to win. I don't think it's going to happen though and I think football season for me will be done.

It's the nature of the sport. Football is a violent sport and a injury at this point will literally cost a player millions of dollars!! So there it is!!
Only thing that can be seen in a good light in that situation is that a coach gets to see what he has going into the following yr and what spots still need work. It's how much that can help an off season and get young guys out there and some experience where the stakes aren't as high as the could be the following yr. Not a perfect situation but me personally would much rather have players sitting out and us have a better situation for the CFP and National Championship than having the BCS or the system that was in place prior.

The announcers for the Colorado game need to be called out for their extreme bias in how they called the game. They bent over backwards to avoid saying the names of BYU players, but they couldn't say the names of Deion's kids enough times. It was disgusting. Joel did it here as well. He mentioned the names of those players, but didn't mention any of the BYU players. Thumbs down on this video.

The majority of the episode after their first matchup was spent breaking down Ohio State, why they lost, and the penalty call at the end. His analysis for this one was that our defense is soft, and he advised Gabriel on what corners on OSU are weak.

The scoring could definitely be that high if both offenses are playing their best ball. It’s not likely, but definitely possible. I’m pretty sure Oregons O will score at least 30. and Ohio State, if they stay aggressive, can definitely score 30 as well. However, in my eyes, the real dealbreaker will be QB play. And I simply think DG outclasses will Howard in particular in big games. I think it’s gonna be close, but I could see a 31-34 Oregon result.
Know how many holding calls were called on offenses vs Ohio State this year? 0. Sawyer hasn't gotten a call since 2021. He's held pretty much regularly. The boys have overcome not only other teams but also the zebras. Food for thought.

This was the worst officiated season I can remember. I know people never like to blame officials for losses but Penn State beats Oregon if it wasn't for officials. Oregon picks up a 4th down TD because the TE blatantly pushed off with both arms extended, got another TD when Oregon had 2 o lineman 5 yards down field. Penn State had a clear catch that was called incomplete when the ball never came close to touching the ground.
Penn State, just this year played back to back away games in conference. Purdue followed up by Minnesota. Just to point out that it does happen within conference play
As a fan of neither team-- I really dislike the way that AZ State has handled the lead up to their game with Texas. They've been incredibly noisy and talkative while Texas has kept their nose to the grindstone. Don't believe it bodes well for them.

As a Miami fan i am extremely grateful for Cam playing for us this season, even though it didn't end how we wanted, it was magical. Oregon had home field advantage which was MASSIVE for them and Ohio St made a ton of miscues such as a penalty to make it a third and very long towards the end of the game. Oregon had a lot of lucky plays too.
OSU's no fluke. You can throw out the rivalry-game loss, that was the fluke, and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise in a sense as a motivator and a wake up call. But I think you nailed it that the big question is, which Howard shows up? The Ducks have got to get to him. Birch has to be a factor.
I got Penn State, Notre Dame, Oregon and Texas as my final four. Joel should be aware that Day is going against Dan Lanning. They will trap Ohio State with their own strengths. If Ohio State tries to go to number 4 all game or tries to do what they did against TN, they will fall into the funnel trap that Oregon has set for them and Howard will have a terrible day. The best chance for Ohio State to win this game is to run the ball, not to pass the ball. If they can't run the ball, they will lose. Oregon has two secret weapons for this game. Jalil Florence DB 6.1 190 and Sione Laulea 6.4 190 lbs DB. Both are DB's that can play this game that are excellent cover DB's. Florence started most of the year last year and missed the last several games with injuries, Laulea was a transfer and has a pick this year already. They both add heights and length if needed to stop those receivers. Kingston Lopa 6.5 198 lb DB played last game and covered the Penn State tight end the second half. He adds speed, length and height and gives them a third weapon to bring in the secondary.
As a high school freshman, my son wanted to quit his team halfway through the season. My message was, you can quit at the end of the season, but this year you made a commitment to this team. He finished the season, became a very good player after playing three more years, Great memories that he will carry the rest of life.

Oregon has earned the No. 1 seed but there's too much parity in college football for them to go undefeated, especially considering that their defense has looked suspect at times.
Boise had a better Resume than a lot of P4 teams so quit shi*ting on them and their Blue field just because you think the B12 and Colorado are better than the MW. Each team needs their own rating based of of their individual record not what there conference does. With 16 to 18 conference teams schedules are imbalanced more than ever. Indiana learned that.

One of the few times I disagree with Joel. Sure I’ll give it to him for playing the game when a trend is to opt out nowadays. But Cam knows he can win the game for Miami, and he knows that the second half favors Miami more than Iowa St. But if the worry is to make sure you aren’t injured in the second half, what happens if you get hurt in the first? Then the question is why did he even play? You go out for your team in your last game of your college career and give hope to your fans to win a bowl game. BUT instead you leave a tight nail biter game knowing you were really the only person who was able to put your team in this situation of the season. You cannot tell people that it’s the better of the change in college football. This is exactly why people don’t like the change, the selfish thinking, the “me first” attitude continues to ruin CFB and it all started with NIL.

Maybe I'm "one of those people who likes to point their finger and be upset at everything" but I will say if I was an NFL GM, I would never draft a player, much less the future foundation of a franchise who quit on his team. When looking at the draft, I think it could have been a major positive for Ward to play the game because it would show he is a team player, something unteachable. The more I think about the Or OSU game, the more I think it will come down to QB play. If that’s the case, I have more confidence in Gabriel. The thing I worry about though is peaking… who is peaking now.. OSU seems to be surging after the slap from Michigan.. if they come out with that attitude, they can win. The scoring could definitely be that high if both offenses are playing their best ball. It’s not likely, but definitely possible. I’m pretty sure Oregons O will score at least 30. and Ohio State, if they stay aggressive, can definitely score 30 as well. However, in my eyes, the real dealbreaker will be QB play. And I simply think DG outclasses will Howard in particular in big games. I think it’s gonna be close, but I could see a 31-34 Oregon result.
I can see it going to overtime and then getting to 41-42.

This was the worst officiated season I can remember. I know people never like to blame officials for losses but Penn State beats Oregon if it wasn't for officials. Oregon picks up a 4th down TD because the TE blatantly pushed off with both arms extended, got another TD when Oregon had 2 o lineman 5 yards down field. Penn State had a clear catch that was called incomplete when the ball never came close to touching the ground.
Penn State, just this year played back to back away games in conference. Purdue followed up by Minnesota. Just to point out that it does happen within conference play
As a fan of neither team-- I really dislike the way that AZ State has handled the lead up to their game with Texas. They've been incredibly noisy and talkative while Texas has kept their nose to the grindstone. Don't believe it bodes well for them.

I've watched Boise a lot this year, it will come down to this....Can Boise outscore Penn State? Because Penn State is going to score on Boise, fairly often IMO. Boise is dead last in missed tackles on Defense and 113th in big plays allowed.

Oregon had home field advantage which was MASSIVE for them and Ohio St made a ton of miscues such as a penalty to make it a third and very long towards the end of the game. Oregon had a lot of lucky plays too.

OSU's no fluke. You can throw out the rivalry-game loss, that was the fluke, and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise in a sense as a motivator and a wake up call. I got Penn State, Notre Dame, Oregon and Texas as my final four. Joel should be aware that Day is going against Dan Lanning. They will trap Ohio State with their own strengths. If Ohio State tries to go to number 4 all game or tries to do what they did against TN, they will fall into the funnel trap that Oregon has set for them and Howard will have a terrible day. The best chance for Ohio State to win this game is to run the ball, not to pass the ball. If they can't run the ball, they will lose. Oregon has two secret weapons for this game. Jalil Florence DB 6.1 190 and Sione Laulea 6.4 190 lbs DB. Both are DB's that can play this game that are excellent cover DB's. Florence started most of the year last year and missed the last several games with injuries, Laulea was a transfer and has a pick this year already. They both add heights and length if needed to stop those receivers. Kingston Lopa 6.5 198 lb DB played last game and covered the Penn State tight end the second half. He adds speed, length and height and gives them a third weapon to bring in the secondary.

As a high school freshman, my son wanted to quit his team halfway through the season. My message was, you can quit at the end of the season, but this year you made a commitment to this team. He finished the season, became a very good player after playing three more years, Great memories that he will carry the rest of life.

Oregon has earned the No. 1 seed but there's too much parity in college football for them to go undefeated, especially considering that their defense has looked suspect at times.
Boise had a better Resume than a lot of P4 teams so quit shi*ting on them and their Blue field just because you think the B12 and Colorado are better than the MW. Each team needs their own rating based of of their individual record not what there conference does. With 16 to 18 conference teams schedules are imbalanced more than ever. Indiana learned that.

One of the few times I disagree with Joel. Sure I’ll give it to him for playing the game when a trend is to opt out nowadays. But Cam knows he can win the game for Miami, and he knows that the second half favors Miami more than Iowa St. But if the worry is to make sure you aren’t injured in the second half, what happens if you get hurt in the first? Then the question is why did he even play? You go out for your team in your last game of your college career and give hope to your fans to win a bowl game. BUT instead you leave a tight nail biter game knowing you were really the only person who was able to put your team in this situation of the season. You cannot tell people that it’s the better of the change in college football. This is exactly why people don’t like the change, the selfish thinking, the “me first” attitude continues to ruin CFB and it all started with NIL.

Maybe I'm "one of those people who likes to point their finger and be upset at everything" but I will say if I was an NFL GM, I would never draft a player, much less the future foundation of a franchise who quit on his team. When looking at the draft, I think it could have been a major positive for Ward to play the game because it would show he is a team player, something unteachable. Instead he showed he doesn't care about whether his team wins or loses and only cares about his own future. Fine for a diva WR, you can deal with it, but for a QB who the entire franchise will be built upon, RED FLAG.

Ward gave his all the entire year, and saved Miami too many times to count. The more I think about the Or OSU game, the more I think it will come down to QB play. If that’s the case, I have more confidence in Gabriel. The thing I worry about though is peaking… who is peaking now.. OSU seems to be surging after the slap from Michigan.. if they come out with that attitude, they can win. If they are tentative AT ALL, OR will put them away. Should be a great game. If both sides play to their potential, this should be an overtime game. Another Rose Bowl classic!
Penn State had over 500 yards against Oregon, but no one sees this as a reason that the Buckeyes won't do even better against the Ducks while everyone is now seeing Penn State as a powerhouse.

@ not at all. GA has the ability and the guys for sure, but their inconsistency is just too much to bet on. ND has been on it for most of their season and I think they will be able to run the ball on GA. If they don’t… they lose.

Miami fan here, Cam Ward left us with the lead at half, gave us a 10 win season that would NOT have happened without him. The defense was terrible all season. No need to risk injury in the POP TART BOWL, its not a natty.
