This thing is probably not much more than the factory sent out, shy a bigger cam, intake, and carb. This is how shit used to get done kids...awesome.

The 1970 and '71 351 Cleveland 4V most BRUTAL "small" block ever. That's all there is to it. THAT'S IT. It's a fact. I dare ANY stock GM 350 to take on ANY stock 351C in similar sized cars. Any model. I NEVER lost a race with a Camaro, EVER, when I had my '70 MACH 1 back during the mid- seventies. I did not lose one race against a 350. Not on the street, not on the track. I have 47 quarter mile time tickets to prove it. (and racked up 23 points on my license in less than one year, including wreckless diving - 138 mph in 55 zone) Ahh . . . the GOOD OLD DAYS! I love that Cleveland, and I am: 351Charlie!

I put a 351C in a 66 Mustang GT, Toploader, 9" Lincoln Versailles rearend came with disc brakes I put in 391 gears. My 66 came factory with Kelsey Hayes front disc brakes, 750 Holley dp, A Mallory dual point, Crane cam 519 lift 280 duration. The Cleveland was a tight fit in the 66. It was a blast to drive This was the first car I pretty much built from the ground up. The only things original was the doors, roof and trunk lid. I put in floor pans, front fenders, hood, quarter panels, tail light panel, front and rear valance carpet on floor and fold down rear seats, inside door panels, I had someone else recover my seats in the front the back seats were like new. I lost a few races only because of traction or lack there of. My Grandfather wanted me to turbocharge it 1983. Which is a long story but he was a engineer for Schwitzer turbocharger he designed the journal bearing and I have the Patent Plaque with his name on it. I can only imagine what a handful that car would have been .

Dave's Radio Repair It's a Edelbrock Torker intake. Comp Cam. Solid lifter. My dad can't remember the specs on the camshaft. Stock bore and stroke. Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed!

That's one hell of a badass running Cleveland reminds me of how engines were built back in the day what's the horsepower? Between 450 to 500 horse at maybe about 7000 RPM with a solid lifter cam open plenum high-rise manifold and a good size carb?

I had this car in the 70's when I was a Navy pilot. Quite the chick magnet. It could smoke my brother's Mustang Mach One.
Now I drive a Pontiac Grand Prix. Not as sexy but still the second best car I ever owned. It can smoke my brother's Malibu.

Y build a motor thats under sized and over weight? Mayb good smallblock back then but even ford admitted after 73 351c was mistake. If they were better than why is everything Windsor? Wouldnt u want more inches and light weight? That cougar better off with 429. Clev guys talk about 4v heads, its proven 2v heads make more power. 351 clev in bigger cars were dawgs. Big cam, 4sp, 410s sure it will run good but so would anything. Well built Aluminum headed 347 prolly stomp the shit outta that undersized boat anchor.

Why don't you Google all those questions. You are asking questions based off of assumption and opinion. You must dislike the Cleveland?

? Use of the term “ prolly” can disqualify an opinion quickly . 2v heads do not make more power than 4v heads. The issue in 72-73 was emissions standards. With the 4v head flowing great at high rpm but soft at lower revs , especially so with lower compression ratios- it was not an ideal choice .
The Cleveland’s were built in much lower numbers and as such lacked the aftermarket support. However , you might check out some of John Kasse builds with aftermarket aluminum 4v style heads.
To address the “ dog “ in big cars , that’s what the larger more torquey engines were for . You mentioned 429 ,which is a 385 series big block 429/460 and great engines too . You might consider not touting specific displacements as , in the case of the 385 series engines the 429 offers no real world rpm potential advantage over the 460 and as such not worth the loss in displacement.
You also mentioned an aluminum head 347 . Of course a 347 is a stroker 302 . Aluminum heads dissipate heat in a manner which allows higher compression ratios , you didn’t mention which head or which combination either. Low rpm street build or higher rpm build.
As far as 4v heads needing 4:10 gears big cam etc and Anything else will run hard with just those parts ?
Hyperbolic rhetoric at best . Your assertions are vague and broad, almost entirely incorrect and the few which are not invalid are simply extraneous.
The video shows a car in the early 80s or so with factory heads and it runs quite hard .

you must be a misinformed chev guy,.cleveland was never a car engine,it was designed for truck bus apps.,torque as hell.,we,in the good old aus.,were the ones that made these things hoot.4v heads are stupid,8k plus,.chev guys dream of 2v ford heads.canted valves, huge valves, huge in/out.std.just need to grind the hump a bit,ex,that is..in my bronc,i have a std 351,with 302 heads, weighs 3t,beats anything across the lights.lpg only.no petrol.12.1 comp.&,economical..only decent engine chev made was a hybrid clevo,IE,,LS.,only took em 60 yrs....429.??.best engine,427,or 460..do some research.mybe head out of ass..as for boat anchors,,6.2/6.5td.gm.tru boat anchor..a possible ''good'' chev engine is the 010 block, then visit speed shop, for the rest of it.!!.oh,plus,you,ll need a 9" to go with it..funny,eh..
