Crazy how your Rhodes return inspired you !! Definitely the video I watch when I need motivation for practice, thanks a lot for sharing. You really rock those keys man !!
Beautiful sound! Heared Sam Beste played on one at Amy Winehouse north sea jazz festival 2004 and directly in love. Niels Broos was part of the Kyteman band i see. So talented!
Mark II will always sound brighter no matter what you do to it. this is a good thing other wise there wouldn't be any difference at all. this is way he has both models.
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost my login password. I would love any assistance you can give me
The most important aspect of the keys is the shape of the interface to the hammers: the key pedestal. In many plastic key pianos the 'bump' is there, but it's not far enough towards the hammer; you can try peeling off the red felt and folding it in on itself, so it makes a bump nearer to the hammer; just experiment with a couple of diferent shapes on different keys and feel what works best; make sure the hammer tip doesn't get too close to the tine when depressed though.
Man, you can play. And, that - is an arsenal! Do you play all of it? I've got to say, if I was going to purchase two Rhodes pianos, they wouldn't both be 73-key models. At least one would be 88 keys.
In my experience, Mk I & II is only different in terms of case design and the type of pickups. There is way more difference between pianos of various years than there is between Mk I and II; and then you still have all the various ways in which they can be set up, or in need of servicing :-)
Brotha went all the way from D'Angelo to Bill Evans, RESPECT! :)
WOOOOAH That is how a Rhodes should sound, and how it should be played. FIRE
Exactly how I had my 1980 MkII set up. JD73 has his exactly the same. Lots lots of response, from delicate vibe to a barking buzz. Great work Steven!!
I may discover this video 7 years later, but I think more people should do the same. This baby sounds great and what a musician that is!!!!!
Took me longer than that.

I already liked the video, so the only for me to do is to write a comment to say the Rhodes sounds great and @Niels Broos is a beast!!!!
