That moment when it took you forever to reach the next bonfire and you just sit and take a break...I don't mean actually get up and take a break. I mean actually stare into the flames with your character, and just sit....
this is like the realist shit i ever read.
Try it irl sometime it’s really relaxing to stare in to the flames and lose the world around you.
Exactly how I felt when I reached the bonfire at the bottom of Blighttown. Cursed, no flasks, and poisoned. It was great journey looking back now
Just staring into the bonfire along with your character just makes you forget about everything in the world, all its problems, wars, the news, all of it... it honestly makes you really feel at peace.
My grandad was tending to the flames in the fireplace. All day he was saying to my grandmother that he didn't want to get out of there. And he didn't let anyone near the firewood also, otherwise he got mad for no reason. He was very tired and so whenever the fire was fading someone woke him up to keep the fire going. He then took some firewood, placed on top of the fire and tried to keep awake, but he was so very tired that he just went to sleep again and again.
At some point they didn't wan to bother him anymore and let him sleep. He didn't wake up after that. My grandmother probably was there to take him away since she had died ten months ago.
It happened earlier today.
He just wanted to keep the flame going, I guess... This song will forever make me remember that old man who didn't want the fire to fade.
This made me cry. I dont know whether this is real but if it is I'm sorry this happened. At least they are together now. Let this song always remind you of him.

This is quite literally how I fall asleep at night. Such a beautiful, calming, serene piece of music. It captures the essence of the story perfectly. Things are over. They may not be better, but what is done is done, and now you can rest. As in life. We go through our days just trying to make something out of life, and sometimes our efforts seem futile. But at the very least, we can rest. This song just has all of the feelings and emotions of life in it, I think.

Yes but the title of the song "Nameless Song" tells the futility of your action, you fought trough all those hardships , destroyed lords of the past linked or left the flame to fade yet nothing changes.If you link the flame you just become like Gwyin waiting for another to overcome you and take your place thus prolonging the Age of Fire but the Abyss will always follow to take its place and the flame will fade again .It is the nature of things in this forsaken universe of Dark Souls

What makes Dark Souls so unique is how broad and wide its world is and the game doesn't shun you from taking any path you want to start with. Lordran is dying, its characters are broken and tired, hope has almost dried up. We are in a world where there is no happy ending in Lordran.
This song is so awesome and tragic. It is putting a brave hero to his final rest. He has completed his task. He may now vanish. Which is what he will do. You rekindled the Flame and died nameless. Only fuel for the fire. It will fade again and when that time comes there will be a new hero. One that will have to endure other hardships just like you did. One that will fall again and again, but yet stand up every time and fight for his cause. And in the end, just like you, he will fade into nothingness only to prolong the Age of Fire for some time. His deeds will be forgotten, just like yours. This song is named for you, the first hero that linked the Flame after Gwyn himself did. This song is named after you. But how could you name it? You are forgotten. You have been consumed by the fire. Your friends have gone hollow. The world has given up on you when you became undead. You are none that can be remembered. You are nothing but a hero. A hero for those who know of your deeds, anyway, which almost no one does anymore. So what and who are you? How to name this song after you? It is simple. It is nameless, just as the hero of legend that once died to link the fire, just like Gwyn did. This is your song. The nameless song.

Hope in a hopeless situation.
The moment when heading towards Gwyn's boss room. Seeing hills upon hills of ash. Seeing the loyal knights that still stand with him after some many decades, and slowly getting closer to him. Seeing the destroyed buildings that were once inhabited. Now buried under miles of ashes from the ones who linked the fire. Then you finally encounter the god of sunlight and Lord of cinder himself. Lord Gwyn. Protecting the flame from anyone who tries to extinguish it, and seeing how he was one of the first to give his life to make the age of fire last longer. You finally kill the Lord who was afraid of the dark, and your long and unforgiving journey ends between you leaving the flame to die or to rekindle the flame just like what lord Gwyn did.
I eventually get tired of songs... but I can't say the same for this song, it has somthing special, but only who completed and devoted oneself to dark souls can understand the feeling.
You never win, you just do a little better each time.

playing this song while progressing through Dark Souls III's very first area is such an experience. it makes you play the game a lot slower, and the song gives off a vibe of sacredity, knowing that there are graves belonging to fallen warriors, some of them great champions, who have fallen over time.
Every foe you faced, Lord, Legend, God and even pitiful undead went onto that fire. Your hopes, your dreams, your aspirations will be the kindling of a second Age of Fire, the dark is held at bay again, by your hands. The Lord of Sunlight... Nay... Lord of Cinder's legacy is in your hands, Chosen Undead. Nito, the Witch of Izalith, Seath, the Four Kings and even Gwyn himself, they all lie in your hands as fuel for this flame. I come back here time to time, everytime I finished a physical and mentally demanding work, it just puts me at ease for some reason, I don't know why...
This song encapsulates Dark Souls.
The beginning vocals are your relieved breaths as you finish that run. The low notes on the violin are you thinking back, the silence allowing you to reflect upon the bad, the vocals reminding you of those people you cherished. The softly rising vocals and their subsequent fall are every time you thought you were going to quit. But the sudden rise is that determination. The chilling, sad violin comes in reminding you of those you lost. Then comes the piano, making lone chimes, reminding you of how you felt, the accompanying violins every lone frustration.
And that lone vocals again, a final time, being your stubborn determination and willingness to do it all again.

This song truly summarizes the entire game, in that you get to hear this for five minutes after you win the first time and it just sets in the victory feel doesn't it? I swear I listen to this song and anything becomes better.

That’s why dark souls 3 is quite depressing as a lot of the shit that happened in ds1 is almost entirely forgotten and abandoned, as if linking the fire didn’t do much of anything at all.
When my first character PussySlayer beat the game and I heard this song after all the raging and the breaks i felt tranquil and knew my next play throughs would feel more and more like the feeling of this song and it did. Dark Souls is a special game and a special experience.

man this makes me really nostalgic... last year i met my best and only friend and he introduced me to dark souls, it was a magic experience and even if it was only a year ago the nostalgia hits me hard because i feel like sharing this with someone was one of the best things that ever happened to me. sadly i feel like our friendship is slightly fading away and i'm slowly going back to being lonely just as i was before meeting him. anyway good times were had and it was all thanks to dark souls! and this song will always remember me of the beauty of loneliness... miyazaki, you're a goddamn genius!

Just got this game
u know, i quit dark souls for a while bc of taurus demon then picked up after ifinally killed him. then there was quelagg, eventually killed her, and so on. it felt like an adventure....i always found new secrets, like, i never knew about the bonfire hidden in sens fortress or by the door in darkroot garden where blues invade, how to get the demon hammer and find other items,etc. after i finally beat quelaag, i thought the game just might be coming to an end, but really it was the beginning bc i needed lord souls. later down the line, i learn who the final boss will be....and im overjoyed! a legendary battle with gwyn...and what a battle it was, for i died many times ;-; i remember walking down the stairs that held the ghosts of his fallen knights....i made sure to walk and take in the scene, i knew this was the end. after entering the boss room, i almost couldnt bring myself to even try to win really, bc everything was so intense and perfect, leading up to the final battle. after i won, i made my choice and linked the flame....then once it was all over, upon hearing this song, fir the rest of my day i was at peace with some little sorrow knowing the game was over and beat. however, i wanted to play MORE! so, i started ng+ and found even more secrets i missed in the previous playthrough, and i still had a dlc to complete, meaning my souls journey continued :) to the end ofmy ps3, i loved this game,stilldo over all others, it was my savior from depression, it was an eye opener for me. when this game dies from lack of pvp players and coopers and newbies,ill still play it :,)
