- I wanted to see how the new Quest X5 and X10 compared to another detector in it's price bracket.I buried a large copper penny and a small silver hammered coin and the results were pretty damn good... all machines under £200

I do enjoy these reviews that compare different metal detectors. Garrett is probably the best known brand amongst non serious detectors, Quest is quite new to the market. The reality is that the Garrett is seriously outclassed in terms of performance by the Quest that's the same price. Garrett's extensive marketing budget means they will continue to sell load of machines and they are not bad, most detectors will pick up a signal from an object that's close to the surface. You can do so much better with alternative brands as can be seen in this video, ignore the sponsored vloggers who love Garrett.
If you hold down the groundbalance button you can use the volume buttons to change chanels to minimize interference from things like overhead powerlines and telephonemasts, without losing/turning down sensitivity setting. Its a hidden feature.
I'm using this device for half of the year and very happy! Recommending! I'm doing videos in my channel with quest x5
The Ace 250 coil is crap for any depth sadly, my other half had one.. Upgraded to a Nel Hunter what a massive difference.

Great video Sid. I used to have a Q40 and I found the performance excellent at 75-80 sensitivity, they really don't need to be cranked up. I think the early issues with the first machine and all the legal stuff with FT gave them a bad name, I think a lot of people don't really understand what the legal stuff was really about. I really like the look of the X10, does it come with tone options ( I think I heard you refer to C3?) ATB MMMD

I’ve just got the X10 and it is brilliant,I’ve been waiting for someone to do an English video as I’ve had mine soon as it came out lol,I’m still unsure of some of the controls as there’s no instruction manual,for a beginner that’s not a good thing,but I know most of them so it’s not too bad,I don’t know what the human icon is in the bottom right corner?great vid cheers lads

got the x5 relly didn't like how flimsy the end pole is which connects to the coil...apart from that its really good..
Be interesting to see how the quest handles wet sand ...be a good machine to put in your suitcase.

Its a little better in performance but if your thinking of a quest upgrade go for the quest q30 - quest q60 as thats more of a noticeable upgrade 👍🏼👍🏼 very good performance
If you still want to go with something that won't break your wallet I would go with the x10 pro fully water proof up to 3 meter's or 10 feet and it's a step up from the x5 but still only 199.00 bucks don't know what it is in GBP though as I'm American....
If coin mode is deeper with the quest than all metal, is that the same with Garrett models? I use the Euro ace and pulled some brill stuff up, but I have same scenario it pins from
Iron to coins untill I dig then it goes mental

Hi mAtey. Been following your vids for a good while now . I do more gold sniping An panning. My good lady bought me a detector as I was thinking of giving it a go . She got the ace 250 .. looks like it be ok as a start off machine. Just need to learn how to work it .
Use in all metal sensitivity one off full and dig everything apart from the first segment which is iron 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

If you have a makro racer 2 knocking around sid could you make a video on the all metal mode threshold and isat I have had some amazing finds with it but haven't got a clue about the threshold and Isat... Do a test with the x10 and drötek mt-xr around same price and I bet you'll be very surprised with the drötek 👍 I've took to stuff to 12 inch with mine!
No just no I have seen many review's of that amazon detector it would not stand a chance against the x10 pro or the x10,x5 if it was selling for around 75 bucks it would be a good first detector for kids....

I couldn't stand the tones on the ace 250...sold it but happy with the 1917 us standing liberty it found me...I was hooked. First detector was a bounty hunter 202, ace 250, AT pro...nox 800. Now I just have the nox and quest...can't beat it for the money.

The quest x10 pro win's hands down there is no contest the Garrett ace 250 was made 20 years ago it is old school tach the quest is light years ahead of it in tech that there is no comparing the two....
How does the x10 compare with the nokta makro simplex?
X10 is aimed at more novice as a basic machine, simplex in my opinion is better

Scotty D for a totally new detectorist id suggest the 10 but always buy the best you can afford... even going for a second hand machine would be a good idea as you are likely to loose very little when selling on
Buy a Tesoro with a 8/10 coil and you will find plenty!
Could you please please please do a tutorial of the x10 a full one of all buttons, what they mean etc and to discriminate, all new to this and finding it hard to understand and all videos are German! Thanks :)

Curious to weather the cors scout I have on my eurotek pro will work on the x10? Running on about the same khz.
Well they make different coil's for the x10 pro but the regular x10 coil's are different than the x10 pro's as it uses the same connector as the Q30,Q60...
Oops forgot to mention this workaround is for the x10 and q20 from Quest don't know if it works on x5.
Also can it have wireless headphones
Bandits Custom the quest x machine are wireless ready but you can get a wireless module and headphones the just plug into the headphone socket

His vids are straight forward and hes down to earth. Just subscribed to your channel thanks for the review as I'm not sure what to look for when buying my first detector.
Goin to get my little girl a cheap one to start with and then get her something better if she really gets into detecting.
average joe thats the best way to start the hobby initially.. just get a second hand machine and go digging a few times... i can guarantee you though once you find something even a few buttons and coins you will be hooked.... its such an amazing hobby and something to look forward to every weekend 🤩🤩🤩🤩 good luck to you both and see you in a field soon 🤘🤘🤘
@@englandshistory I live in an area where theres a main Roman road that goes by my area, I've done some looking on the internet and I've found some interesting things that have got me set on skewering the landscape around it. Also found a lion carved into the landscape beside the road and the best thing is! It's not local knowledge or reported anywhere that I've looked.
