Breakaway out of NO, you can book your speciality online before you board. That holds true for all NCL ships. As soon as balance due on cruise is paid which is about 4 months ahead of time, book restaurants. Also, when check in time online is ready which is 21 days ahead, you can book entertainment online. Less hassle when you board. Enjoy your next NCL cruise by booking ahead.
Sounds good. We didn’t mind booking specialty when we boarded. It was quick and easy. It’s unfortunate that not a single staff person mentioned we could ALSO book MDR reservations for the week. 🫤 Wish we’d known that too.
Thank you for sharing as I am considering going solo on the Breakaway. I look forward to the rest of your review and enjoyed your husband’s comments. He’s sucha Guy! Lol. Stay blessed
Thanks so much! Here's our full review. Hope it helps you decide. We also did vlogs each day if you're interested in seeing more of the ship and activities on board. ruclips.net/user/live-teKu1Qi4xQ?feature=share
We’ll, your review confirmed my worst fears about those mega ships. Overcrowding and lack of venue seatings are so irresponsible and unpleasant. I’m checking out RC cruises out of Fla. And I just signed up to your FB page. God bless you both 🙏
@@mayalyn2011 definitely give a Royal Caribbean Oasis class ship a chance! This was not really considered a “mega ship“. We also really liked Celebrity earlier this month.👍🏼
@@AllThingsWagner Thank you again ❤️ I’ll be contacting a local TA on Wed re Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. I really appreciate all your sound advice. I pray your “new” move is working well for you both. It’s always great when God is in the details!
We went through boarding so quickly, we didn't even look for any. 😂 I don't remember seeing any signs, though. We did get a lateral VIP level from RCI to Elite in Celebrity Captain's Club, and no one directed us to another line. Maybe when they get busy, they bring em out. lol.
It’s hilarious you were always a bit behind our muster was above you and our room was same side 4 floors up. And you didn’t mis much with the main dinning room it took us about 2 1/2 hrs to finish eating it was crazy slow. It seemed like a ship of brand new workers
We make all of our dinner and entertainment reservations in the Hub on Carnival. Kinda strange that NCL doesn’t have that feature. And E muster is still on Carnival and we hope it stays. We have 6 cruises booked for this year. Thanks for sharing your experiences and travels. We enjoy watching! Happy cruising!
Thanks Jan! The Asst Mgr of Hospitality with whom we spoke says “everyone” is going back to in-person muster. I’m not sure about that! She never gave me a *legal* answer why, but rather just referred to how many folks don’t watch the video for the emuster. I told her I had the solution-they don’t get on the ship until they watch it. 🤷♀️ Easy solution. 🙄 Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your clip. I especially appreciated the tour of your cabin. WHOA... "sign up for the shows" = that's different from our NCL Spirit in May 2022. No "sign up" just... GO!
Yes! And even with “reservations”, I’d suggest getting there at least 20 minutes before the show. We walked in 15 minutes before and barely found 2 seats together.
You guys are so much fun and entertaining to watch! I certainly hope you're Norwegian cruise went better once you set sail in comparison to your embarkation experience! Yikes.
Also, my wife wants to know about the attire for the MDR, I thi k you said shorts, t shirts etc are OK to wear at dinner. We're in the Manhattan DR at 5.30 sitting. Please confirm. Many thanks
Oohwee! I felt you on those embarkation experiences. I was on Breakaway last December. It was the worst embarkation and cruise I’ve ever had. Starting with the luggage guys on the street, into the terminal. Upon entering, the line was probably a city block long…on the bottom floor. It was soooo crowded. It turned out that the whole ship was at capacity. Every major venue was crowded the entire week. Disembarkation was just as chaotic. That was my first time trying NCL. Not a good first impression!
At least the line was not long when we got to the terminal, but I can see how it could easily trail down the street! There are some really nice spots on that ship, but unfortunately, it's just too small for the number of passengers. Maybe folks who only cruise NCL don't know anything else, so they don't know what they're missing on a larger ship. 🤷♀️
Overall, no, but everyone has their preferences, so don't count it out on our opinions alone. Here's our review of the pros and cons. Hope it helps you decide! ruclips.net/user/live-teKu1Qi4xQ?feature=share
So can’t you make mdr reservations for the week so you don’t need to wait? Also, I probably will never sail with NCL ever again as long as they have in person muster drills. That’s an easy way to catch Covid with everyone packed on top of each other. I’ll stay loyal to Royal.
No MDR reservations possible. They call it "freestyle" dining and tout it as a benefit...eat whenever YOU want.... unless of course everyone else wants to eat at that same time, then you can wait in the hallway until there's a seat. 😂🤣
@@AllThingsWagner Enjoyed the video. Just got off the Escape. You can make reservations for the MDR's for the week if you want. And you CAN eat anytime you want. It's not their fault most people want to eat between 5:30 and 7. Food is usually better on NCL anyway, but we eat in the Haven, or specialty restaurants, for the most part. I was told the in person muster drills were at the request of the Coast Guard. The entire cruise industry is making cuts across the board, less staff, less services, higher charges.
@@johncaceci8656 we were so bummed when we found out AFTER the cruise that we could make dinner reservations! It was odd that not a single staff member told us that all week, even when we made specialty reservations after boarding. ☹️ And time will tell about the story on the emuster if other cruise lines start going to in-person too. We shall see. 🤨
Embarkation day is rough on NCL. Hated my cruise on the NCL Encore. Bad service, overcrowded and generally disorganized. We will stick to Celebrity, Princess and Holland. All class acts.😉
Boarding Norwegian sucks!!! We normally are loyal to Royal. Royal has the best boarding of all cruise lines, non-stop walking until you are on the ship. We cruised Norwegian and sat in a room in Miami for over an hour.😢 We booked a cruise on Norwegian again for next month, I'm not looking forward to boarding time. Spoiled with Royal
We are watching every video for your Breakaway NOL cruise and have learned a lot. This is helping us a lot. Thanks
We’re so glad we could help!!
Thanks for sharing. We've never been on Norwegian.
Thanks, I was asking about the NCL embarkation if the have a priority desk. I bought the priority package
