I’d put the chin strap of the helmet through the strap/lanyard on the mount. That way if the clamp ever let’s go, it will stay attached to your helmet. Extra security! Love the reviews! Keep up the great work.
Just ordered this Mount for my GoPro black 9 that I’m getting Friday for my dirtbike. Looks like a really good Mount. I’m not wanting to put adhesive on my brand new O’Neal helmet. Looks like I made a good choice. Happy riding friend! Thanks for your input!
Couple of things...... 1)Thanks for answering my question about the bikes in this video. 2)Those gripper teeth you were talking about, they looked potentially harmful to helmet or bike panel finishes. Are they rubberized or hard plastic? Do you feel they would scratch up the finishes of surfaces? 3)My intercom has the mic mounted to the inside of my helmet directly in front of my mouth. Will the clamp interfere? 4)Does the clamp interfere with getting your head in or out of your helmet? As always great to see a riding video. Total agreement, this season has not been ideal between the weather and Covid. Hopefully there's still a few good days of riding left in the Ottawa area before we have to winterize.
Yes the teeth are rubber so can’t see it being a concern. In regards to mic placement I would say yes there may be an issue. I put my mic (s) around my cheek pad. For the most part seems to be the beat placement. And hopefully there will be a couple more weeks of riding. Would be nice to get out some more.
Yeah. Riding weather sucked this year. I only put 3 tanks of gas in the bike and it's been put away for a week now. That is a pretty flexible camera mount. If you are blogging it would be ideal in a mutli-helmet scenario. The Amazon US link takes me to Amazon Canada. But even purchasing from the UK site would save money over Canada pricing.
Yeah that’s the big thing for me. Being able to quickly move the mount between helmets. And having nothing permanently attached. Big win. I’m not sure why the Canadian site is so expensive.
Thanks for the review. Finally pulled the trigger on it and should be arriving soon. I had the cheap strap version and was not a fan due to the movement and the constant need to tighten the straps.
Can you attach this to the side of the helmet? One thing I noticed is that you have a high windscreen as do I. The image quality through the windscreen was not the best. Mounting on the side of the helmet,(if possible) would provide a better view to get around the windscreen. Thanks, Nice review!
Hatless or not still a great review 😆................. The most important thing is the safety of those products ........always take care of yourself brother
@@gregtoope Thats Canada for you 😂Here in my state in the US you simply cant do that. Even when i leave my house for 10 mins i still lock everything up!
I knew if I looked long enough, I'd find a solution for my GoPro Hero 8. The search has been hard since I ride mostly with a modular Shoei Neotech.... The sound is fantastic..will you do a short video showing the install for a microphone for narration? Liked and subscribed.
I would be concerned about getting in an accident an having that giant clamp making contact with my breast plate and braking it... Just my concern. I use a gopro mount. Can send you a pic of my setup... very simple and the cam lens is centered to the helmet.
I just ordered this. Been having a hell of a time mounting to the chin of my Shoei RF1400. I know they make sticky mounts that contour to the chin of my helmet but when I saw this I was sold. This means I can totally remove my entire vlogging setup and have a clean helmet to ride with. My only concern is damaging the inside of the helmet with those teeth on the back part of this mount. Will those damage my helmet?
Great video, unfortunately the clip will not fit over the chin curtain easily on my Shoei NeoTec 2 helmet. I guess I will have to take the curtain out, or open the Dango to max, and just crush the curtain....any thoughts??
I own the first mount you had on your helmet there. The straps don't hold it in place well enough, and I had to put 2 sided padded tape in between to secure it to the helmet more. And now the gopro's are getting slightly bigger and heavier making it more out of date solution. I'm looking at the Dango Design as the next step up. Thanks for the review. This is helpful.
@@gregtoope quick question about the Dango. Is the grip strong enough it doesn't move [at high speeds on motorcycle] or is it better to add adhesive rubber on the helmet to help with the teeth grip of the mount? Thanks.
@@palmtrees89 I’ve never added anything and so far so good. Plus I’ve moved it between multiple helmets. I just make sure to reach down on occasion and verify it’s still in a good position.
Its $49US which converts to $59CAN. The Amazon Canada store wants $110. So the conversion does NOT make sense. And even paying for the additional shipping from Amazon US. It would come to $89 Canadian. So you would be saving $20 by ordering from the US versus ordering from Amazon.ca
@@craigtilford5118 I have a AT950 too. I ended up getting a dango and like it. I like not having something permanent on my helmet. When the card runs out or the battery on my go pro, I can pull over, take it off and clamp it to my cables on my handle bars and keep going.
@@craigtilford5118 and it is fun being able to hand it to someone else to use. I did rent a dirt bike once after getting it and I couldn’t get it on the helmet they had me using. I ended up clamping it to the number plate and it shot upside down which I fixed In editing. I think the go pro has a setting where it will adjust it for you but I haven’t bothered to look that up!
i love everything about this one but i'm planning on using it for motocross and it looks like the bottom of the clamp will destroy my chest if i crash head first ( this isn't uncommon at all ) . a lot of the times you only wear a shirt and even a chest protector wouldn't reach as high. seems kinda dangerous to me.

Thank you for the video, really helpful. Bought it with my own money!
Hope you enjoy it!

And I think interference would depend on how snug your helmet is. I had no problems.
Great video! Was waiting for the ride with the gmax. I have the same helmet with the beak. So, how did it work out?? Thx!
it actually works well with all my helmets including the gmax.
Great. Buying one with your recommendation! I like the ability to easily remove/attach. Thx for the quick reply.

i havnt as of yet, but ill definitely watch out for it to see if it does

Any issues with the chin curtain?
i usually remove mine. and most of my helmets dont even have one.
Lol not to seem weird or anything but I’m just around the corner from you

What helmet and micorphone do you use? this audio is nice
Its a Nenki helmet and a GoPro Hero 7 Black with their external mic.

Shop in Brazil for post? Thanks.
does it not scratch your helmet though? that what concerns me,,
hasnt scratched mine
have you gone out and used this with the off road style helmet yet? does it wiggle off if so?
i have tried it and it has yet to fall off, But im also not super aggressive off road.

What's that thing in 7:43?
its another style of mount

The price difference makes perfect sense, one is American dollar the other is Canadian dollar
USD American CDN Canadian and if you look at the conversion rate your prolly not saving. It prolly comes out to about the same price
I'm not sure just a suggestion of why price difference idk

Dang it… this looked great until I remembered my adv helmet is modular and this would cover the latch to open helmet. Good review, thanks .
Hmm, good point, same w my Scorpion AT 950. Hopefully the ease in which to take the mount on and off will make up for the hassle.
