Bentley Motors Limited is a British luxury car manufacturer, founded in 1919 by W. O. Bentley. Bentley Motors Limited has its headquarters in Crewe, England. The company is owned by the Volkswagen Group since 1998, and its principal activity is the production of luxury cars sold under the Bentley marque.
Bentley cars are produced in England, and assembled at the company's factory in Crewe. Bentley produces a range of four, six, and eight-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The company's first car was the 3-litre Bentley Blower, which was based on a design by Tim Birkin, one of Bentley's racing drivers.
Bentley has a long history of racing, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans five times, most recently in 2003. The company has also competed in other endurance races such as the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Daytona.
In recent years, Bentley has expanded its range of vehicles to include SUVs and sedans. The Bentayga SUV was launched in 2015, and the Flying Spur sedan was introduced in 2018. Bentley also offers a range of bespoke, hand-crafted cars, such as the Mulsanne, which are designed and built to order.
