Actually the Teutonic Order only used chainmail armor with a white tunica and black cross. The helmet with Horns were never used in combat and it isn't even known that they wore helmet with horns. Only exception is the helmet with the horns and "flags" other than that they just used a full helmet without horns. Would be stupid in combat if someone can grab the horn....

I m doing just now a teutonic order campaign there, but not in the vanilla game, with Baltic tw mod, that reskin and retexture many units, making them historically accurate, there is the Livonian Order inside the teutonic order too, and change the gameplay too. I m ever outnumbered by those bastards, so I conduct a scortched land strategy like in post Roman Britain campaigns (invasio barbarorum 2 conquestus Britanniae mod for medieval 2 kingdoms) with Roman rump states (soisson, concilium Britanniae or one of the romano British kingdoms) against Saxons, picts, Scots, Franks and so on: I rely on the fortress and forts to control the territory, hired some Mongolian and cuman mercenary, several Prussian (converted natives) archers, and Livonian crossbow men, so I can use hit and run tactics (so if I don't wanna fight, I simply harass them with arrows then escape), while the elite core of the troops, the teutonic and Livonian knights still in reserve, (if there is a melee combat before them there are the curonian nobles I use like mercenaries), organize chavauxee in enemy territory (take a fast and small elite column, mainly or only cavalry even, go deep in enemy territory for hundred of km burning, looting, and killing, taking town and demolishing all building before escape (you re shadowed by enemy forces sometime if they react in time but you refuse to battle and continue to escape destroying all in your path) and after a tour of some turns come back home. That heavily weaken the enemy economy and forces. I can't do a big field battle against them they re too much but I will behave like the worst of the colonizators, because they make me angry with their attacks to my columns. Especially the pagans. The defense rely on a system of fortifications, a Siege defensive warfare based on sorties sorties with horse archers and cavalry every turn possibly at night, attract some enemy soldier away and kill him. After some turn they ll loose too men and leave the Siege. Or sent a rescue force from another garrison, is a strategy based on the stalemate of the enemy, called small force theory, with a small and agile elite army composed by choose units and foreign auxiliaries, no full stack armies. How advance with such tactict? Sneak attacks on enemy cities and castles, especially those badly defended. With spies, killing their generals with assassins, and so on, and you must have also a good diplomatic and commercial net, for money. Maintain a professional army is not cheap. Ah, and burn and kill and loot, enslave, and so on. No mercy, more terrible trait have your generals and faction leaders, more the enemy army is scared on the field by his presence.

The helmet depicted in that image is exactly the one that is so popular nowadays so I'm sure this is where the Russian director in the thirties got his inspiration from.
