I'm glad they're doing good. You should try byFormica products. They make excellent feeders and Sunburst ant nectar which my ants love! Also for nests it would be cool if you bought some nests from European nest makers. You could also try to make yourself. It would also be cool if you made a DIY nest and moved them into that. Although a big Crematogaster colony is probably not going to be the easiest thing to make a nest for, especially if it's your first DIY formicarium.
I noticed that you have solid clear tube and not vinyl hoses to interconnect the nest and outworld and even have solid L elbows. Where did you get those? (Awesome video BTW).
In the first time lapse two workers looked like they were fighting in the bottom left corner. Could the colonies scent fade away during hibernation so one of the workers thought the other was from a foreign colony?
The colony was waking up, the scent couldn’t fade because they are all bunched together. I’m guessing they were confused because of them waking up 🤷♂️ I was Wondering if anyone would see that lol.
Please tell me. How do all the pro ant keepers have pupae and stuff in the first month when i have nothing for 5 then a few eggs that stay the same size then the queen dies and after a year 1 or 2 out of 14 queens will have pupae and didnt die please help!
Do you know what the dimensions of tubes between ac out world and ants aus chambers are. Are they different? I have been wanting to mish mash different brands but I wasn’t sure what size their tube was
Depends on the species. For example my Messor barbarus collect numerous types of seeds including oats. You have to be careful however, because lots of crops will have been sprayed with insecticide. Feeding a contaminated food to your ants will kill them.
Why did you take them out of diapause so early? I live in CT, I put mine in the fridge on Nov 1st, there’s still a foot of snow on the ground here. Should I be taking mine out as well? Was going to wait until I saw ants out in my yard until I took them out.
In captivity you can take ants out of hibernation earlier. Also this is the only colony I have taken out so far because they don’t require much hibernation according to people I have talked to that have big colonies of this species.
It took forever for me to get decent lighting on this video. I hope you enjoy! (If you have no idea what I am talking about go to last video)
Glad you fixed it
It’s so cool how you have so many colonies that are all relatively small. It just makes me think of “the big ant boom”
Thats how it is for me. I have nine colonies and my largest is like 100 workers
Awesome video, glad to see them doing okay and so glad you were able to upload a video.
i absolutley LOVE YOUR VIDEOS PLEASE keep up the work dont stop
You’re gonna have some huge colonies at the end of this year!
Wooden nest would be cool and naturalistic way to house them . Nice video
Woooo! Excited for more vids 😄 I’m new to ant keeping, I just got interested this winter, I can’t wait till spring to get my first queen
Nice! I would recommend starting out with only a species or 2 on your first year so you don’t get overwhelmed. That was my issue.
It’s spring! I wish you good luck.
these update videos are my favorite
Good to know! I’ll make more shortly
Wow so big! I saw ur vids nice, I am having a colony with just a queen, lots of eggs and a larva
amazing video i'm glad to see you got your video uploaded :)

Here is the link to the website I got them. Thanks and I hope you enjoyed it! www.antscanada.com/shop/ac-connector-pack/
hi you have a super channel so i'm watching you super xd 👌👌👌
Wow this is so cool A lot of ants
The two ants fighting at 2:25 probably tangled up
How do you manage to hibernate your ants? There are so many ants, so idk how you'd disconnect the outworld without losing some ants.
The ants at least for me all went inside so I was able to disconnect the outworld after a month in hibernation

Ok that makes sense. Also I’m keeping Lasius and Formica do you know when I should take them out of hibernation?
Depends on when you put them in. I’m leaving my Formica in for 3 to 4 months and Lasius around 4 to 5
Ok thank you
do you live with your parents or by yourself
I’m not super comfortable answering that. May I ask why you want to know?
@@antsanatomy1436 because how do you control the temperature in your house for your ants

First!

On my latest video you can see I have a ants Australia nest connected to a AntsCanada outworld. The dimensions are the same
Does the sponge give them water to drink?
It soaks up water and pushes it through the layers of acrylic
3:52 heating ... cable, you mean?
This is very irrelevant but can ants eat oats?

@@jonathanthompson4734 thanks for the info!
Exactly. You could moisten them so it’s easier to eat and they get more nutrition as well.
@@antsanatomy1436 keep the content up!
@@antsanatomy1436 how can I brood boost ? It’s so cold in uk
Colonies way to small for that nest
Can I get one
I love your ants.
Hm
What do you mean?
