No mention of the people and that he is an employee of the people.
He is an employee of the people as an MP, however as the speaker he was nominated by Parliament.
Personally, I can't stand the silly old queen and I wished he'd have been pushed rather than being allowed to walk away scot-free. But purely in the interests of balance, the last people he thanked before his wife and 3 kids (who all hate him btw), were his constituents, i.e. the people of Buckinghamshire he's the MP of. They employ him, not you or I... unless he's our local MP and thank God he's not mine.
@@DrAnne-mc8er can someone explain to me what he's supposed to have done wrong?
@@markythompson The Speaker is expected to be completely impartial in any political matters... a bit like the real Queen funnily enough!
@@DrAnne-mc8er the Queen is an outdated institution who has no real place in modern society.
One question: why not sooner?
Best news for a very long time!!!
Who put on the party after this welcome announcement? The bully just had to go
GOOD BYE……………GOOD RIDDANCE!!!
🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
He's going to retire with a massive envelope from the EU.. job done ey..
Blah Blah Blah.....just go now and put us all out of our misery!
Tell me about Sir too much blah, blah, blah in the British government, I agree with you 100% just leave right now and all of their MPs are all weird and seems as if they cannot do the work.
Well said.
Shush crying you Gona miss us when we gone
About time. He wasn't a bad guy & I don't have anything against him personally but he showed time & time again he was not impartial or unbiased & it was clear where his loyalty lies.
@Bluepurgatory1 I take your point & you may well be right as I've obviously seen the rumours but personally I can't attest to that side of things. Although if true it's totally reprehensible & I agree with you 100%.
why one side of the courtroom didnt stand up and applaud ? do they hate Bercow ?
On his left clapping, on the right side, whispering...
@woof meow On your side... Squirting
So glad he is going. As he is not neutral.
About time maybe now will get someone a bit more impartial
All these people saying bercow is horrid and a traitor and should be thrown out: think of the past 9 years, not just the past few months. He has worked tirelessly, and brexits gone on long enough, if we didn't keep extending we would have been done by March, and bercow wouldn't be swayed. Think about the bigger picture of bercow and his whole run in Parliament rather than zooming in on his last 4 weeks. Come on.
Disgraceful behaviour from the majority of the Conservative benches. No basic courtesy or manners for a colleague on their retirement. Not even applauding or showing appreciation for the work of the Speakers office. He was a Conservative MP for 10 years before becoming Speaker, he had been working with many of them for 20+ years.
Thank you, Mr. Bercow .
For everything!!
voice of reason amongst the madness
Power to the poor people, as the poor people will rise💪💪💪💪
He's made a political post out of a non political position ..good riddance he's an embarrassment

Socks With Sandals the will of the people through their mps has been overwhelmingly against Brexit over and over...
M W look up the meaning of a parliamentary democracy. It represents the will of ALL the people. Not just those who showed up at a referendum who's importance was downplayed, and after all the lies were exposed...
Bilal Khalid Democracy trumps Brexit.
I can gladly give him directions the job centre

He has made plenty of money, he was on the pay roll of GEORGE SOROS and the Elite, next thing is he will have a title from the Queen for services to be Crown.
Prob because you know where it is......Cant imagine youre employed with your lack of simple grammar!!!
I bet you would like a turn, another turn at, the referendum, in my mind brexit remonas are un democratic bad losers with no shame, please tell me some thing, that will make me, think different ! ho and I also think, that brexit remonas are just pawns that MPs are using to save there fat EU pensions, please tell me otherwise
Bercow as speaker MUST be impartial. which he most definitely isn't.
Total bs
Good riddance to a remainer who got above his station and tried to stop Brexit.
I truly do love the word “ traitor” being thrown around, it seems no one knows the bloody definition of the word.
Carywn Griffiths trailer!
@gary jones Ohhhhhhh the drama of it all!
@gary jones So you wouldn't want the UK to be taken down a path that even the Leave camp can't justify, then.
Carwywn Griffith's ..I don't think you understand the word traitor or Democracy
We will miss your most famous phrase:

"Duty to believe what is right for our country".... You are elected to serve your constituents and have a duty to do what is right for them and what they believe. Not what YOU believe
No, they're not. That's the difference between a delegate and a representative.
Do you think he loves himself?
Rhetorical of course
Ha ha - so funny.
Parliament is falling apart and this twit wants to grab some glory for himself.
The phrase 'Nero fiddled as Rome burnt' comes to mind.
He was originally a Conservative. Most Conservatives can't stand him, nor could they before he became speaker.
@@rww805 Oh really? Name me the Conservative MPs who have confided in you that they don't like Bercow? Give me one name, and a quote. Even Gove stood up and gave a great speech about him, despite Bercow tearing him a new one a couple of weeks ago.

His wife is a Labour member and he himself in his belief should belong to Labour Party. I bet he would join Labour party soon.
Fingers crossed...
He is a coward. Pretended to be Conservative. if he was a labour politician he would never of got elected the first time in Buckingham. that is a fact.
@@donleslie3402 wow he is a conservative?Jokes on us.
but if he does, he will be subjected to common treatment of an MP. He then cant call anyone to order
Usually speakers don't go back to their parties (in this case Tories - conservative). After some time they are usually elected to the House of Lords as crossbenchers (so people who hold no political affiliation). Also his wife is a private citizen and Bercow commented on it. Shame to see such a great Speaker leave. He could have easily done it for next 10 years.
I would just like to point out that there were only 45 people watching UK parliament live. No wonder some of the comments on here only reflect what is told to them through the BBC and the rumour channel's.
As an American, I must say that this is a much better governmental structure and culture than in the U.S. (though this is a relatively new development in the historical narrative).
