Creativity on this level simply doesn't exist anymore on screen. Glad to know the name of the singer Wini Shaw, who delivered this Oscar-winning song in boffo style.
This is really one of those great Busby Berkely Movies, a real delight. Marilu Henner and the cast of Taxi really put this song over, as well.
His musicals still amaze me, no matter how many times I've seen them!
The greatest musical/dance sequence in movie history. Busby Berkeley never did it better.
the greatest production numbper one movie history.
Positively a priceless movie musical.
No, and neither did anyone else.
Wini Shaw...what a beautiful woman!
Berkley really was a genius. It wasn't just overhead shots of dancers assuming geometric patterns. His best stuff in the thirties always told a story in visually arresting ways.
Some Early-Musical Movie Magic by the masterful Busby Berkeley! Musicals have come a long way in 6y (iirc, the first cracks at musicals were in ‘29?!?)…Stunning camerawork, dancing and of course, singing by Ms. Shaw.
Busby Berkeley's masterpiece. Nothing like it in cinema history.
An absolute masterpiece. Warner Bros removed the number in its entirety. Thanks for posting
You are so right. The internet is so mentally challenged that this comment of pure insight and taste is not acknowledged. You know your stuff, Lita. Bravo to this song, performance, film; and to you for appreciating it!!
I dont mean to be so off topic but does someone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?
I somehow lost the password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me.
@Coleman Santino instablaster ;)
@Finn Esteban I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm.
I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Finn Esteban It worked and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my ass !
I love the way the fireplug and the "concrete" sidewalk JUMPED, when the bundles of newspapers landed!
Winnie Shaw was brilliant
Genius production of musical numbers in these Busby Berkley films
Another Busby Berkeley knock out, phenomenal singing and story.
Her voice is striking yet eerie...
Love ❤️ this
The old songs are.the best ever.
Special and creativity at it's highest One of the best musicals ever, oh and they dance too!😊❤
What a beautiful voice.❤️
Unreal. Not humanly possible given todays talent
This piece reflects not only the great talents of Busby Berkeley, but also those of composer Harry Warren and lyricist Al Dubin, who collaborated on other musicals as well, including 42nd Street.
This is literally Amazing
Thanks for all of your lovely uploads.
i love this i'd like to this on a big screen
why isn't there a busby berkeley biopic
BRILLIANCE!
It’s amazing what the Human can do
Brillant beginning!
This party girl will come to sad and unexpected end before this lengthy musical number is finished.
Spoiler Alert!!!!!
Absolutely amazing!
Beyond Brilliant!
She dies at the end. Watch the full movie. The dancing crowd overwhelms and pushes her to death.
I want to see this again!
Great!
Sung by Wini Shaw

The Milford Plaza?
Why cut it there??? You missed the best part! Boooo!!!?
I always thought this was in 42nd Street
The song was interpolated into the 1980 Broadway musical.
e-lec-tricity costs less today you know than it did a long time ago ... a little birdie told me so
Was Ruby Keeler also in Gold Diggers of 1935 ?
No. Just Dick Powell.
Right so the thumbnail is creepy as fuck, but this is good.
When you watch the whole sequence, then you will understand why the thumbnail is creepy.
