Yeah the bullet ricochet off his head and he drove himself to the hospital. Spence got thrown from a car going over 100mph, and didn't break a bone in his body. Messed up his teeth and face and a major concussion but he came back and boxed within 18 months and looked normal. Both guys are tough dudes for sure.

I took him to his first national tournament in Oxnard. Good shit EJ,we had lots of fun at Vivero Boxing Gym. That was Gym to be in.....RIP Gene Vevero
Facts RIP coach Gene ❤ I was the 1st female to fight Golden Gloves out of his gym. He said no girls but I had experience and paid my gym fee. A month later he paid for my registration and entered me in the tournament ❤

I’ve followed the sport since I was 5 years old my dad would hold fight parties in the late 80’s and I fell in love with it I was always excited for fights but this one changes everything man I can’t wait for this!!

This was a good interview, out of all the interviews Spence did, this was the first time I heard the story about him training in a Mexican gym. That sort of explains some of his come forward style, even though he has different styles.
