⚠️ UPDATE! WE NOW KNOW THE TRUE STORY! ⚠️
ruclips.net/video/fq1YPiDiM-8/видео.htmlsi=YE5d9JklIZm9wuba
It's odd though...The way Pecharunt folds up into its "berry form" is... eerily similar to how the Alolan Tapu Guardians "fold up" into their "Totem forms". Was Pecharunt actually from the Alola Region or does this imply that the Alolan Tapu Guardians come from Pecharunt's home region?
The reason why Pecharunt and the Loyal Three targeted Ogerpon and her friend was because of their masks. Not only did it prevent them from being fed the mind control mochi but it gave Ogerpon immense power to threaten their reign of terror
Edit: Lore just dropped through Pokémon’s RUclips channel revealing that Pecharunt went to Kitakami for the masks to impress the elderly couple that raised it
makes sense
That makes sense but wasn’t the lore that the Loyal Three traveled to Kitakami because they heard of the Ogre and the masks?
@@cobaltprime9467 On one of the plaques that you and Kieran visit it mentions that if you see a shadowy figure you must wear a mask before it says anything about the ogre, implying that at least Pecharunt had been making trouble in Kitakami beforehand
@@Cloud_Dancer ah then it may have given power to 3 unknown Pokémon to turn them into its vassals. And after their defeat it was forced to lay dormant.
This is probably already a theory big I wonder if they were Pokemon from the Kitakami Dex originally. Poochyena, Aipom, and Ducklet. Given mochi to fulfill their desires and gave their loyalty to their new master in return.
Wonderful observation
Quick question:
When the brainwashed grandmother first presented the purple mochi, did anyone else look at the mochi and think, "These donuts are great! Jelly filled are my favorite! Nothing beats a jelly filled donut!"?
LMAO, I CAN'T UNHEAR THAT NOW 😂
Nope.
Actually, Brock said the Riceballs as Jellyfield Donuts. I don't recall about the Mochis were shown in earlier in the Pokémon Anime.
It was super cool seeing a Mythical pokemon actually have an in game event with some story again like the good old days
Unless deoxys counts

Pecharunt is very reminiscent of a Kirby villain: cute, manipulative and very much evil. I'm sure if it existed in Dreamland, it'd possess King Dedede and make him dance while clobbering that kirby.
I was thinking that too. Imagine a variant that was pretty much an even bigger offshoot of Dark Matter! That would be terrifying....
There is also Kieran's scrunchy, which is gold and shaped similarly to Pecharunt's shell, only it's upside down and is not pointed. It could symbolize that Kieran and Pecharunt were initially similar, but did end up going opposite paths. Besides that, everything you've said were my thoughts exactly after looking deeper into Pecharunt and its role in the story.
It honestly made me happy to see Kieran trying his hardest to redeem himself after all the bad things he's done, it may be a trope in itself but it's one I love to see. Avatar: The Last Airbender's Zuko is to date my favourite redemption story ever and watching Kieran fall into despair wasn't nice as he reminded me a lot of myself as a kid but I am happy they gave him some prominent time to shine at his best and we help him make things right in his home town.
PS. Penny's Mochi dancing gave me such a laugh 😂🤣
Dang, now I’m thinking of how cool it’d be to have a full on villain character in Pokémon that eventually joins the main group like Zuko 😂
@@GatorEX Imagine this is the next plot line of Generation 10, someone that chases you around the entire region trying to capture you and you must fight them off with everything you have but then in the end they realise they were in the wrong to begin with and only used like how N was used and discarded by Ghetsis but the main difference is they join us and help us take down the organisation that is evil. Classic tropes maybe but it's a goodie
I agree Penny’s knees looked SO WEIRD I COULDNT NOT LAUGH😂
MOCHEEON
The epilogue is basically (Tragic peach merasmus causes everyone to do the chicken dance while the tune of the thriller is in the background.)😈🍑
I have a theory:
Pecharunt sounds like a corrupted pronunciation of "petulant," meaning "childish" or "tending to throw a tantrum." My guess is that when it saw the masks Ogerpon and its trainer had, masks that were inlaid with tera crystals that made them look appealing, it wanted those masks for itself, like a jealous child who wants what cool things others have. I don't know for sure if the Loyal Three were already under its control at that point, or if it "recruited" them for the purpose of getting the masks (though, if it's the latter, that would mean, with four masks to get, each Pokémon would get their own mask). Regardless, from here, it's the story we all know.
I also like to think that, after Ogerpon won, Pecharunt, in an attempt to get rid of her and maybe reclaim the masks, possessed a child with its mochi and had them tell everyone that "the terrifying ogre" defeated "the brave warriors" who had taken the masks it uses to strengthen itself (which is why we see a child on the signboards' image). While that did successfully chase off Ogerpon, the people then enshrined the masks, making them that much harder to get. With its plans completely ruined, it did something else a child would do: go to its room (or in this case, its shell), and sulk.
Just realized the toxic chains are just big mochi chains
Penny also starts making Eevee cries while she's possessed.
her inner desire is to be a veevee
I swear me and my friend we were just dying when we saw Penny be so happy and energetic compared to how she always is tired the penny in Arvin really get to shine even though they weren't really doing much in the story they had some really good dialogue
I really liked this event, some people didn't like the style of it for being goofy but I think fits very well to the way Pecharunt (and to an extent the Loyal 3) acts. Like you said I believe they gave us enough pieces to see a full picture of the story with our own spins into it, I would not like if it was overexplained from nowhere now trying to fit Pecharunt, we knew there was a 4th one because of the in-game full design, and if we see Orgepon reaction we see SHE knows who this Pokemon is and what it did but the villagers didn't knew, not event Kieran's family because it hit as that 'plushie' form. Also having his main attack show the Toxic Chains was such a cool detail, and the dex image complete the picture of "The Loyal 3 were his goons."
And I have to say I LOVE his design, It's such a simple but clever design, he is not the Pecha/Peach, he is THE SEED, that not only fit with Momotaro being inside the peach, but also there's the fact the Peach seeds are poisonous, so him being a poison type is perfect.
Easily the best mythical event for the sole reason that it’s tied to the actual story of the games, just sucks that it’s behind a mystery gift event meaning that this part of the story might get locked away in the future if you didn’t get the distribution even if you have the DLC.
I think the Pecha Berry Mystery Gift will still be kept till the Server Shutdown unlike the Previous Mystery Gift Events from Previous Gen Games holds.
The loyal three wanted the masks because Ogerpon couldn’t be possessed by Pecharunt while wearing them. Not from some hidden power but because the masks cover her entire face.
Technically the player could also follow the same logic and wouldn’t need to dodge during Arven and Penny’s possession cutscene with a mask or full head helmet, but I’m going to believe that they dodge anyway from having good reflexes and not thinking about it until later.
lol i thought they just wanted them because they looked cool and ogerpon was getting attention from it and they were also boasting about them in the vilage
Besides just possessing people because it finds it fun! I think the reason it has that ability is because that’s how it gains nutrients. Not only can it control others through its mochi but also sap their energy!
The toxic chains work in the opposite way as the chains will give energy to whoever has them.
That’s how the loyal 3 were able to come back! They weren’t really dead in the first place! The chains kept them alive that whole time after they were defeated and buried.
So basically for a good maybe 200 years the loyal 3 and Pecharunt were basically just napping 💀
(Well that’s how I see this anyway! This is all just my opinion or headcanon and I thought it was neat and wanted to share!)
It's incredible that the inner desire of every human in the epilogue is beeing a chiken
who would wanna be a chicken
I'm just glad our player caught it. If Pecharunt ever fell into the wrong hands or left to its own devices, it would be very bad.
After the lore story we saw I think our player could show it that it doesn't need the mochi to make friends and with the loyal three also in hand the group can be friends for good and make things right for Ogerpon
I wonder if it was dormant the whole time because another powerful Pokemon was inhabiting the Timeless Woods. Bloodmoon Ursaluna is similarly ancient and seems to be the near perfect counter to Pecharunt, being a Ground/Normal type with a high special attack and an ability to hit Ghosts...
Pecharunt: “Sure is a good day to commit crimes against humanity”
Ursaluna-Bloodmoon: Har har har har har
Evil Pecha Berry that has the ability to control others! The threat:
Ba da da da da 👏👏👏 Ba da da da da 👏👏👏 while screaming Mochi Mochi!
In the League Room, Carmine's second event has her calling out how Pecharunt seems to be similar to the "Lousy Three", so even if you hadn't put the pieces together yourself, there is some dialog to draw your attention that way.
I can’t even with the chicken dance (or mochi dance) 😂😂😂😂
Pecharunt got quite a sense of humor 😂
The Bird Up meme has return
I personally love Pecharunt, it’s so fucking menacing but so goofy at the same time
One of my favorite Mythicals we have gotten. I like its design gimmick. The peach slice floating beside it are like portals of some sort where the toxic chains come out of it which is sick. Another cool thing is that the peach slices encapsulate it to protect it (which explains its insane defense stat), like a tapu.
Magearna, Marshadow, Mew, Deoxys, Arceus, Zeraora, Melmetal- you know what forget it I like all of them including Pecharunt.
This is how I want my Mythical Pokémon to be featured. With a little storyline.
This is Pokémon I will protect by me. It just like me evil, poisonous, and puppeteer.
I am so excited to catch with it too.

Peacharunt is 100% one of the best handled mythicals, aside from Arceus. Enough details and influence in the game itself to leave hints towards it and give satisfaction when it is finally revealed, and a strong personallity with a fun event. May not be my favorite mythical (Victini my beloved), but damn did they do a good job on it.
Super super engaging dialogue. Very calming to listen to
“Death is a lot more of an inconvenience in this series”
Meanwhile the Cubone’s mother in the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town…
😂
I think the reason Pecharunt brainwashed everyone was not just out of malicious intent, but also because it wanted to steal the Mythical Pecha Berry from the player. The smell was so good it just couldn't resist.
Now, I am wondering if we will get mythicals based on the other berries in the future.
I doubt it. Pecharunt, the Loyal Three and even Ogerpon are all based on a Japanese folk tale about a boy born from a peach.
it is??? evil peach boy real??
@@poppila7807 I mean in the actual story, the boy and the animals were the good guys, and the ogre was evil. Pokemon has it be the reverse, which is an interesting twist.
@@poppila7807 yes, while terapagos is based on a japanese folk tale about a time travelling turtle
Wow, you're smart. I mean seriously I've seen some youtubes complain and yet you understood so much.
Ok but I do want to know two things, why are the loyal three mean to Ogrepon? and why was the old lady using it as a decoration?? and then had no comment after the epilogue??? Should we trust her anymore??!?
I want to guess that she could've been the actual first victim before Carmine, who found it somewhere but was ordered to act natural to avoid spoiling the surprise. Clearly, then was not a good time for Pecharunt to resurface, but with its old enforcers defeated and Kieran's obsession with strength thoroughly quelled, sensing the Mythical Pecha Berry in the possession of its new biggest nuisance led it to conclude it had to act NOW, dominating its other potential threat (that being Carmine) to draw out the player before they can oppose it to any significant degree. Too bad its ability to puppet around others left its own combat experience lacking.
I mean, if I got revive and someone murdered me I think I as well would want to beat the breaks off of my murder.
Huh, I never thought about that; that would make sense.@@vincentleonard3797
Oh, sorry I meant before then. XD@@rossjones8656
Hopefully we get a sync pair with Kieran and Pecharunt in Masters EX in the future.
"WHERE'S MY LORE?!!!"- Zeraroua
Pecharunt and The "Loyal" Three are also all an inverse of the classic Japanese tale of Momotaro (aka Peach Boy).
The zombie motif fit well with the new music for the Epilogue DLC as it's an obvious homage to Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'.
So why does Pecharunt exist beyond being a villain? Mind controlling others isn't exactly a unique party trick.
For content duh
People thought Kieran is mind controlled, yet in the end, only he (and the player) isn’t.
I love the funny mochi dude
Britney Spears' "Toxic" is a perfect theme for Pecharunt
It's funny that Pecharunt and the loyal three have a similar relation that Ho-oh and the legendary beasts and Terapagos has the same extraterrestrial motif and a relation to the cover dragons as Kyurem. Maybe those coincidences are more nods to Johto and Unova games
Am I the only one who thinks Kieran doesn't need redemption? He believed in ogrepon from the start, he cared about it way more than we ever did. He deserves ogrepon more than us. We're the ones receiving ogrepon's attention only because the game won't have it any other way, so we have to take it away from Kieran by force. If anything, this confirms Kieran's idea of "might is right" because he learned it from us. We took everything from Kieran and somehow he's the one who should say sorry? What message is Gamefreak trying to convey here? If you're not the protagonist, you better admit your inferiority and go home?
Yeah, let's eat a random treat from a Pokémon that we Literally have no Info on
they probably would have eaten it if pecharunt didnt launch it into there mouths
@@IdkArt_hhsbajd They opened their Mouths willingly while we dodged It
PokéDex entries suggest deliquescent people become Gengar and this was proven during PMD Rescue Team where one Gengar was revealed to be human and ran-away from some Ninetales that gained enlightenment.
What are the chances that Pecharunt used to be petulant kid before becoming into this insufferable creature? I've seen no preteen kids being mochipulated in the entire course of the epilogue, all of them were teenagers to elderlies. It must've hated adults when it lived as a bratty kid, and loved eating Pecha berries hence when it died, it clung into a Pecha berry and as a result turned into a vengeful spirit in the shape of a Pecha-berry.
3:17 "death is a lot more of an inconvenience in pokemon"
Aaaaand Pokemon just released Pecharunt's story and, yeah, it doesn't outright redeem the mon, but it's definitely not evil, more like misguided.
Like how pecharunt is based on a pecha berry, could we get other mythical based on other berries???
Not likely. Pecha berries are based off of the peach, so Pecharunt (and the Loyal Three) are based off of Momotaro, the peach boy, and his 3 animal companions, of Japanese myth.
He is my precious son and I love him.
I only wish it would be confirmed if Kieran was influenced by Pecharunt or not as his drastic change in character couldn’t have been entirely out of his own free will.
Honestly one of my favorite parts of scarlet and violet!
I love this Pokémon and I love this video
GatorEX rolls worst time to make a Pecharunt video ever, asked to leave the land of Kitakami. Real talk, it's genuinely hilarious how the day after you make a video explaining Pecharunt, Gamefreak makes their own video to give my lore. This might be the greatest case of comedic timing in the year and it's hardly begun. Guess the vid became dated in less than 24hrs.

M-Mochi? Ligma MOCHI! Yeah, I think this may end up being my favorite of the DLC stories thus far. I appreciate how much effort was put into the story mode compared to how Sword and Shield did their DLC. I hope that Game Freak puts more focus on the gameplay going forward, not just the next VGC season. Mochi later!
A second video probably needed after the most recent video dropped by the Pokemon company explaining the other side of the story. it's a real shame it came out one day after you uploaded this good video though.
Is this mythical getting a movie some time? I kinda miss that we dont really get thise anymore. Actually, itll probably be towards the end of the current anime if anything.

So.. Pecharunt mind-controlled the Loyal 3 to stole Ogerpon's mask? Makes sense ok BUT it would be more effective if he feed mochis to the villagers and send them after her. Not sure the little girl would want to hurt 30 peoples surronding her.
That aside, i don't like the design. It's a bit ugly, not cute like Celebi or Jirachi, not cool and strong like Deoxys or Rayquazza. It's a floating peach, that's it! I don't want to be friend with him, he bullied Ogerpon and turn 3 pokemons into jerks. That's horrible, so cruel 😢
This one is a rare example of an actually evil Pokémon. It's not like the other Mythical Pokémon, it's just a corrupting force.
