How does this make sense with the time stamp?
If you're messing around with items, I've found the game likes to give 1st place Bob-ombs as a "weak" item if you turn lots of other stuff off. Kinda makes sense, since it's tricky to defend with, and it doesn't stick around as a trap if you have a huge lead.

@@titicaca. Unless you're not at top speed, i.e. when brake drifting around a corner, which is pretty common in 200cc
This is a certified broken Item tournament classic
30:27 but really, Nintendo should put in a custom level editor, so you can specify where the item boxes are. I would have so much fun with that. Some other details could include how many laps you would need to complete to finish (up to 20 laps), and you could put down stuff like the speed boosts and the half pipes, and a ramp, etc. That could take a while, but I’m willing to wait a long time if we’re gonna get something as awesome as this. Another cool thing would be level-specific items, so you could specify what items you can get on a certain level, with the same limitations as the custom item editor has. Don’t get me wrong, custom items are awesome, but level-specific custom items in this level editor would be way cooler! You could also edit obstacles on the track (e.g. piranha plants, chain chomps, etc.) and the scenery outside the track you can’t reach (like the buildings in New York Minute, etc.). This could take months if not even years of development, but for this great-sized package deal, I’m willing to wait as long as I need to.

Very interesting item-set lots of the meta-gaming patterns like banana traps and holding items for redshells disappears. Its almost more similar to time trials with all the mushrooms, but there is the meta-gaming of knowing blue shell threats in first and the shock in every position. Good video. 👍

From what I've seen, out-running blues and reds on 200cc is possible as long as you have 10 coins and you're not brake drifting. The character selection doesn't necessarily matter and obviously that doesnt include power items. Either way, easier said than done. Drive safely out there 😅

Today was the first time I lost in a long time.
I got 11th. Not because I got Mario Karted, I simply forgot it was the final lap because I had my sound turned off so I couldn’t hear the fast music. It was the subway level. It’s kinda comical and funny whenever I think about it. I always chuckle a little mentally and physically when my brain replays that moment over and over like me trying to squeeze some playback out of my bad nighttime internet. Going back 30-60 seconds does in fact help. I thought it was still lap two, but it was lap three. I wasn’t even mad when it happened, like I would’ve been if I hadn’t learned how it’s just a game, I was just confused. I thought it was the second lap. Any drop of fury left in me was quickly overridden by laughter and all sorts of positive emotions and expressions. It’s honestly not really that annoying, more funny than anything else, really.
