I had some of those thoughts when I had the medium, but downsizing to the Small I loved the bike, I found it to be great for cornering & super confident on steeps. Jumping I wasn't comfortable with jumping because I didn't trust the wheelset & my fork was set up as good as I could get it without sending it away for a re-tune/shim stack (the tune that comes on the Mondrakers & even commencals are a light tune - hence easy bottom out) Other wise, I absolutely loved the bike and would have continued to ride it if the Opportunity for my Megatower hadn't come to light.... There are things on the Megatower that I wanted to try replicate that the Superfoxy had like the small stem and steeper headangle, so I put a 32mm stem on and set my flip chip to high to steepen my head angle & raise the BB slightly. So for me, the Superfoxy has been my 2nd favourite bike to own, and would love a Summum haha. P.S. Uppa the Ronan Dunne!! lol
Haha upper the Dunne indeed! I’m the opposite, nothing how the bike rode felt good to me, the nomad is just far better in all areas for what I want from a bike, perhaps I just really dislike long bikes haha that’s how Ive always been even on bmx, however I did love the clash but it was 27.5 Maybe the Superfoxy needs to be a mullet 👀
@MTBMcPhee maybe the top tube length is to blame? The Mondraker top tube length is 15mm longer, 29er verse mullet may also be a reason I felt so long on it, idk honestly, all the boys that got on it for a pedal said it felt huge, Non the less I’m happy I moved onto the best bikes on the market 🫣
@@JohnnyThe_G The SC definitely feel smaller and more comfortable seated because of the short TT. I think you've probably found the same thing as me though - stack is king. You're only 3cm shorter than me and I would find 621 stack height very uncomfortable, and you can see in the shots with the seat up that your saddle height was way above your bar height which is the same issue I had on a lot of large bikes. Glad you're happy with the nomad, they look killer and I'm still blown away by my Mega
@MTBMcPhee that must be it hey! I’ve Certainly got a better understanding now tho after the fact, I’ve never looked into anything about geo or what not 😂 I just ride the bikes that look cool or different The Cruz is by far well ahead of everything Ive ridden tho 😄
@JohnnyThe_G I love riding it but dropper post fails to engage at vital times Going to replace next month I see it as a downhill bike that can but struggles to get up the hill
Hey JTG, likin the content mate, it’s been givin us more motivation to get out there and ride. Bought one about 6 weeks ago, been riding a giant XTC for years and switched to a dual sus as an older rider, not sure if it’s just me but I ended up with an XL, I typically ride a large. Geometry felt pretty good in the xl the large felt small to me. It runs the fox 38 fork and shock. I agree with the turning ability of the bike, bit of a boat! Especially climbing tight switch backs, you really have to muscle it. Overall I am happy with it, probs will change out the drivetrain to something a little better in the future. My son just bought the same bike and for reference I am 185cm and he is 199cm and we both are riding the XL, so hitting either end of the recommended spec range. Anyways so good so far mate! Take it easy cob!
That’s good mate! Again this is all just preference and a lot of guys might like this geo more and that’s great! Long as everyone’s having a mint time on their bikes 😅
honestly just depends what you want to ride, I dont value them, however that price is very good, the forks and shock are worth that by themselves,, the rest of the bike is pretty average but its still a nice bike, 4500 is a great deal for what youre getting, again it just depends if youll like long geo or not
I have been riding the same bike for about two months and i really like it. Only thing im struggling with is the shock set-up. Could you maybe give me some advice or just your settings? Loved the honest review 👍
Spot on. I own the Base model Superfoxy which is essentially the same bike with Fox suspension. Wheels, and drivetrain are absolute garbage. I found it’s fast and fun once you get used to it but it’s not like any other bike that you can just jump on and ride. It took a bit to get used to this bike and I’ve had to adjust the way I ride. The omission of a chain guide and zero under frame protection is also crap. Thankfully I got mile for literally half price brand new otherwise I’d be pissed. Good review. Spot on.
Totally different type of bike. My pal has the superfoxy in M (I ride Large and yea the M feels big for an M) I have a Tyee in large and on the superfoxy 29 wheels feel like a match and the tyee 29 feels like the wheels are a lot. Superfoxy is closer to a dh bike geo wise, tyee do it all and inn carbon super light. Fox is closer to tyee but still different feel
@@mikestivers8302 bruh if all you look is travel that doesnt get you far.. how much travel only tells how much travel. If it is similar why are people complaining about superfoxy and saying go tyee then? I've ridden both and completely different ride. I’d have to say the Santa Cruz nomad s kit is pretty banging, considering you get the life time frame and bearings warranty, and a lot of the parts have lifetime warranty also I don’t think we have a evil supplier here in Aus, not that I’m aware of, they aren’t that common from my travels around but they do look sick
@@Robin887 I don’t sorry mate, It’ll be a big choice as to how you’d like to ride, I’d go the trance just because I now know I really don’t like long stand over bikes
I mean it is definitely not a professional review, nor meant to be... But "that is total BS" etc isn't necessary... The bike has geometry issues, short chainstay, long wheelbase makes for very uninspiring ride - it still has its purpose (taller riders, stability downhill etc). Will you be replacing this? If you want playful, don't go high pivot - they are amazing bikes but... Not great for jumps etc
@@Lancia444 why do people get a superenduro if they dont want one? Its close to a dh bike, yea spec is bad and seat tube too slack but it rides very fast and isnt that boring on the small stuff either. The point of a super enduro is getting a more capable bike than usual enduro on the steepest stuff and that doesnt mean super fun on flat or agile.

Any advise about Mondraker Raze vs Giant trance X please? There is so lack of opinions about Raze and Mondraker in general
I'm currently looking for a Raze too there are on sale right now for 2400 Euros the alloy version that is
