I loved it , excellent track amazing instrumentation, lyrics and music. Thanks for reacting to this masterpiece, Rory👏🏻👏🏻🤗🎸👌
Keep these Hip reactions coming please!!!
his voice tone is the "machine revving tension"
It'd be better for us, if you don't understand. The LIVE performances of Locked are insane! Gord usually includes a crazy poetic rant as The HIP jams along behind him.
The HIP mastered the tension and release 'drop in'. That moment right after the 'freefall' when they hit the ground and start accelerating is pure ecstasy.
This song is 🔥 live!
This has been my favourite Hip song right from the first time I heard it. It definitely was the highlight of the show the one time I made it to one of their concerts (on their second-last tour). I'd recommend watching them do it in the last concert in Kingston (and watching that whole show: you'll definitely get emotional).
Ty for reaction sir. The Hip is so awesome huh? 😊 love that you love them.
Would love to see more reactions to the singles on "Yer Favorites" compilation Album. They are ALL excellent.
I sang this with my friends band one new years eve. The let me out part is so much. It's great live stuff.
Probably my favourite song on any given day
Since you loved the Highway Girl "Double Suicide" track you might have noticed some of the elements of that story in the lyrics of this track. "Every day we're dumping a body", "destroying the map that we so carefully dotted". That's one of the exciting things about Gords rants and improvisations in earlier live songs. You get to pick out early workshopped bits that become studio tracks later.
The Hip always reward repeated listening by doing this among songs on albums but especially from earlier live sets making their way on to later recordings. I can’t wait for a reactor to start piecing these bits together and having their mind blown
Just Brilliant! ❤️🇨🇦🔥
Oh Canada !
👍👍🔥
99% of the time I will argue that live versions are better than the studio version, and that most of their studio recordings are "meh". However, this is an exception. Locked is one of my favourite Hip songs, and the studio recording is just as good, if not better than hearing it live.
I saw that song live in Las Vegas, and it was the best thing I’ve ever heard in my life, no exaggeration
