This reminds me of some London folklore. In the 1970s a small time crook was walking home late one night when he noticed people depositing security bags into banks. He watched for a while and decided he should get himself a shop front and install the necessary metal chute. Over a few weeks, using false paperwork he rented a small shop nearby, painted the outside to look like a Lloyds Bank and installed a secure metal deposit thing! One Saturday at about midnight he placed signs in front of the genuine banks stating that they were temporarily closed, and could they please use the Lloyds Bank in Blah road around the corner... He sat there waiting in the dark with his thermos flask full of hot coffee and a packet of cigarettes. In the early Sunday hours the first of many bags of cash just dropped onto the floor in front of him. Each bag containing many thousands of pounds of untraceable cash. It's not known how much he took that night, but he was rumoured to have fled to the Caribbean where he lived the life of a retired country gent, he was never caught... 👍
Almost as good as that was the lad (he was only 19) who noticed the paying in slips in the bank. This robbery was extremely well thought out. To have two separate get away cars ready and an elaborate plan to get the employees out of the vehicle. And there was obviously a great deal of information that the robber knew about the bank. The routes being driven the cars being used etc. This is genuinely probably one the best most thought out robbery’s I’ve seen. Props to them honestly
And the 19 year old that was poisoned definitely had something to do with the robbery. Could be any number of things but he’s 100% involved in some way.
The person who pulled this off was definitely no idiot, nor seemingly a "bad person." His entire scheme was genius, and well planned. He hurt nobody, not even financially (individual wise), and got away, while doing things in a somewhat humorous way.
Yeah, it was a good scheme and the protection of the innocent definitely played a role in them planning it out. It's a great example of how following a "punishment" model instead of one where harm-reduction is the goal can lead to more pain and suffering. Yes, stealing is bad, obviously. But we're talking about 7.5 million dollar in today's money here. That's a lot, but is it worth the resources it takes to involve 170,000 police officers? Is it worth all the deaths? All to get 7.5 million back? The man-hours alone must have been ten times that... Society invested way too much money with no results and people were driven into suicides. How was any of that bettering society? And of course crimes need to be investigated, to prevent copy-cats, if nothing else. But shouldn't it be done within reason? Are we willing to spend endless amounts of resources and lives on revengefully punishing people or do we cut our losses at some point and except that sometimes people will get away with it? I'm always reminded of that when I hear of car chases in the US. Just let the person get away for now, follow them with a helicopter or track them otherwise (they usually have the license plate number, after all) and show up at their doorsteps in two weeks and arrest them there. And yes, some criminals might get away that way, but isn't that better than hundreds of bystanders, police and even the suspect (before their day in court) dying during the chase?
@@kirbya9545 I have a different definition of complaining, it seems. To me pointing out problems in order to further a constructive discussion on how to better a society is something any patriot should actively encourage. But maybe I have a different definition of patriotism, as well. The original commentary's sentiment was that enormous harm has been created even though the robber went out of their way to create no victims other than insurance companies in their crime. And related to that I wanted to add my opinion, which was that at the time in Japan police might have lost focus on what's important: Making society more safe and better for everyone, not just punishing the criminals. You know, protect and serve, not endanger and kill. And that seems to be something all societies still struggle with, even though in most it is getting better. I'm sorry if I triggered some emotions by also briefly mentioning a further example from the US. Hope you'll get over it.
That's brilliant social engineering. Tell them there's a bomb to make them feel threatened, use a little sleight-of-hand to make it seem like the threat is genuine, then drive off in the confusion like you're a hero. It'll take them enough time to piece things together, you can get the cash, ditch the car, and complete your escape before they even call the police.
Imagine doing a crime doing a crime so big and stupid so perfectly, that 3 people committed suicide in the investigation to find you. Thats insane to think about.
The suicide of the kid just after is highly suspicious. Did the police investigate it for motive? Prehaps his accomplice simply tied up all the loose ends.

It was Shigeru Miyamoto. He went to work for Nintendo later on to hide his crimes from being discovered. That's why Mario collects coins, it's his way of subtly confessing.
Complexity adds potential failure points. Every additional part to a plan or a device adds something else that can go wrong. It is one major reason why your computerized refrigerator with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity breaks after eight months but your grandmother’s 1965 refrigerator is still working fine.
I believe i heard some where that there was a theory that the motorcycle cop encouraged his son to take the cyanide in order to protect their family name, or something like that. The actual investigation and stuff is kind of interesting. Always cool to learn of a perfect heist
1:32 The 'wobble' in the image happens when you draw multiple images and switch between them. But I would have prefered it if only the policemen were wobbely. That way they would have stood out more. If the whole image wobbles, then it's more difficult on the eyes.
Going into this I was expecting something a lot more darker due to the viewer discretion confirmation but it honestly wasn’t Good job on your part to be able to deliver a pretty funny story and not come off disrespectful towards those who had unfortunately lost their lives due to the incident

I think everyone would if they knew they could get away with it... Inb4 white knights say they wouldn't, to that I say: Why the fuck you lyyyyin'? Why you always lying?
Unlikely but had the bank employee driver not left the keys in the car the robbers plan would've gotten a lot harder!
finally more tales from the bottle its always the funniest one
Maybe it dosent get as much views as Last Moments but its good
"Rob DeBanc"... 🤔...😮...🤭...😅...🤣...😂
Yeah baby!!! This upload made my day! Your work is appreciated every time brother! I notice that you animation “shivers” now (I’m not an animator, idk the actual term lol) it’s a nice touch.
the artwork tho... so talented. i know it must take yonks to do...thank you so much! effin love this channel.
Why did RUclips mark this for self harm
The person who pulled this off was definitely no idiot, nor seemingly a "bad person."
His entire scheme was genius, and well planned. He hurt nobody, not even financially (individual wise), and got away, while doing things in a somewhat humorous way.
and he woulde had it al his way if it werent for those pesky suiciders
@@felixwinkler6450foreigners trying not to complain about America on a completely unrelated video challenge (impossible)

"A good old face-to-face honest Robery"
That's brilliant social engineering. Tell them there's a bomb to make them feel threatened, use a little sleight-of-hand to make it seem like the threat is genuine, then drive off in the confusion like you're a hero. It'll take them enough time to piece things together, you can get the cash, ditch the car, and complete your escape before they even call the police.
Yes Qxir!!!! An absolute classic. Back to your best boy!!!
This seems like some insider robbery.
The galaxy brain required to pull a stunt like this off is something I can only assume is, in fact, that of a higher being.
Imagine doing a crime doing a crime so big and stupid so perfectly, that 3 people committed suicide in the investigation to find you. Thats insane to think about.
Beautifully executed
Do you think you'll do a video on the time a thief mugged a banker and ended up unknowingly stealing $378 million in Bearer Bonds?
When the video has a age warning you just know it’s gonna be a good video
Stop warning me RUclips. We’re not babies 😂
The suicide of the kid just after is highly suspicious. Did the police investigate it for motive? Prehaps his accomplice simply tied up all the loose ends.
It's Japan. It's what they do
I’d love to see the 4 guys have to explain this to their bosses😂😂😂
Thank you for the laughs! This was hilariously presented...the art, the script, 😂😂😂
Thats actually super impressive. The guy knew how things were going to go down before they did, and he played the bank employees like fiddles.
RUclips is censoring this video, it asked me 4 times if I was sure I wanted to click on this video
I Think that whoever thought this up had at the very least a touch of genius to them. I kept waiting for the robbery to fall apart! Good video Qxir! UD. From Nebraska 🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍
was getting concerned i hadnt seen a new qxir video in over a week. on the way to 1 million subs awesome man.
When it's age restricted, I hit the like button. The algorithm is a cruel mistress.
Was there no way to trace serial numbers on the bills? That was a lot of money to never turn up somewhere.
Anyway, Qxir absolutely rules. Hugely entertaining and interesting, virtually every time. Everyone should mention the channel on their social media. Give him a boost.
I want more bank robbery stories. This one was so good!
Damn, already age restricted? This is gonna be good 😂
My wife and I love your little cartoon drawings
How did I get “viewer discretion advised” and “may be inappropriate for some audiences” from YT before the video? This is by far one of your more tame videos.
It's because he says suicide like 3 times
Movies: Heists require years of planning, a highly skilled team, and perfect execution.
This dude: Amateurs!
you obviously don't understand the brainstorming, analysis, planning and time needed to pull it off like that. and all ideas that guy had that needed probably the same amount of work before being discarded. like most everything else hard work and perseverance ate the key to success. 😏👌
@@kittytrail Over da head.
too bad this got age restricted. i know it’s going to kill this vid’s performance and you especially put time into these Tales From the Bottle episodes. youtube gonna youtube :P
When a Qxir video starts with a self-harm warning, I know it's going to be a good one.
We need more tales from the bottle 100%
This guy put all points into wisdom and deception, and none Into intelligence, and somehow still pulled of the largest successful heist in Japanese history
you know nothing about this heist if you think the perpetrator wasn't intelligent
you are too unintelligent to understand 200IQ chess moves stay in your lane
I don't know about Japan, but here in the USA, whoever did it could still be charged with tax fraud. There is no statute of limitations on tax fraud and yes, you are required to pay taxes on illegal income. Stay hidden.
Your tax records also don't count as evidence so just declare your stolen income
You know it's going to be a good video when it's age restricted
Thanks for not self censoring "suicide", like most moronic RUclipsrs. You're the golden example of what RUclips should be.
It was Shigeru Miyamoto. He went to work for Nintendo later on to hide his crimes from being discovered. That's why Mario collects coins, it's his way of subtly confessing.
5 stars!
Great story telling as per usual, and your animation style is awesome as always!
You know a video is about to be good when RUclips gives you a warning before proceeding.
Yup
Complexity adds potential failure points. Every additional part to a plan or a device adds something else that can go wrong. It is one major reason why your computerized refrigerator with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity breaks after eight months but your grandmother’s 1965 refrigerator is still working fine.
Your animations just keep getting better and better. Thanks for all the hard work, Quix.
What an excellent story. Absolutely enjoy your videos.
I love how Japan has a legal loophole to allow for criminal memoirs.
I believe i heard some where that there was a theory that the motorcycle cop encouraged his son to take the cyanide in order to protect their family name, or something like that. The actual investigation and stuff is kind of interesting. Always cool to learn of a perfect heist
Qxir is the only channel where RUclips stops to mention “viewer discretion” and I love it
It did show a message for me
awesome job!
This has to be one of the best edited videos I'v seen in a while .
absolutely amazing !!!
I love these videos so much because of your voice. Normally RUclipsrs who do vids like this are such a drag to listen to your the complete opposite
Another great video! FWIW, only two people can work in tandem.
1:32 The 'wobble' in the image happens when you draw multiple images and switch between them. But I would have prefered it if only the policemen were wobbely. That way they would have stood out more. If the whole image wobbles, then it's more difficult on the eyes.
alright tough guy you make the video then
@@Linuxabuser888 That's a healthy reaction to constructive criticism that wasn't adressed to you.
@@ozAqVvhhNue do you have autisim?

Going into this I was expecting something a lot more darker due to the viewer discretion confirmation but it honestly wasn’t
Good job on your part to be able to deliver a pretty funny story and not come off disrespectful towards those who had unfortunately lost their lives due to the incident
Yeah, Google for some idiotic reason thinks suicide (a choice, and a valid one in many cases) is worse than brutal murders and sex crimes. It's ridiculous.
Love a good "Rob the to feed the poor." Story. Much love from down under 💪🏼🇦🇺🤙🏼
Yeah, what a nice story. Thanks to him, a bunch of kids aren't getting presents for Christmas and several people killed themselves.
