@Jesse Ramirez exactly. That piano motif throughout the movie is a punch in the gut EVERY. TIME. I'm 33 now and grew up on this film, it wasn't until I was an adult that I learned to really appreciate the magic of this score and how death is dealt with. Amazing amazing movie
The “can I keep you line?” gave me exciting butterflies in my stomach when I was 10. 25 years later I met the love of my life and he randomly said those words to me on our second date ❤❤
Very few movies stand the test of time. This one has done so magnificently. The CGI and cinematography that went into this is masterful and I love it so much

This is exactly how I instantly felt about my own real life Casper. Someday soon he won’t be a ghost, he’ll be mine and he’s going to ask me the very same thing, “Can I keep you.” I already know he’s a hunk and an excellent kisser. 😉 and a good dancer... he made me feel just like I was floating just like the two of them, in his living room once. 💕

When the music to this soundtrack plays any where, I love how most people will be Awwwww knowing it came from such a beautiful movie. It doesn't matter if Casper's human or not. I mean yes I also wished he stayed human, but he's cute as a ghost. And he'll always be human in his heart and to anyone, like me, who thinks that, too.
Wow, this brought me back to a time I miss. Film now is just not the same. I know every generation says this but there is this magic in film that has been lost. It's the little moments like this scene and how subtle they were. The intimacy of these moments when we watched them back in the day before internet and social media. Not knowing what they ment to other people but just our own experiences made them special. Life and what it produced was way more subtle, more mysterious, more intriguing back then. Don't get me wrong it is awesome to connect with so many so easily but we definitely gained something at a sacrifice of something else...something that possibly was more important?

That wasn’t what made her realize it was him, it was when he said “I told you I was a good dancer”
The scenes with Casper meeting Amelia, and Dr. Harvey talking to her were one of the hardest scenes to hold back tears.
it's that piano score. No song or score could ever make me cry. Only this one. It's so beautiful, sad, haunting. Even rewatching this scene now is hard for me. I'm 30
This movie also came out the year Selena died; the song “Remember Me This Way” should’ve been dedicated to her.
Same here it’s emotional
Agreed. It was on TV just a while ago, and I could not hold back the tears the entire time! Very emotional scenes, especially for a kids movie.
The “can I keep you line?” gave me exciting butterflies in my stomach when I was 10. 25 years later I met the love of my life and he randomly said those words to me on our second date ❤❤
*squee* I hope you let him!!!
@@mazfirst8091why don't casper become an angel just like that women?
was not casper a good one?
@mikeloan casper had unfinished business so he couldn't move on and had to remain a 👻. Kat's mom didn’t that why she wasn't a ghost
The 90s was the peak decade for entertaining, wholesome movies anyone could enjoy. I wish we had a revival of this.
This scene is more romantic and heart warming then any romance movie now days
Very few movies stand the test of time. This one has done so magnificently. The CGI and cinematography that went into this is masterful and I love it so much
The cgi effects for this movie were considered cutting edge for the time. This was the first movie to have had a computer animated lead character
This scene makes me cry every time, I love the song and lyrics, then James saying goodbye to his wife is just heartbreaking. Such a underestimated film.
The music, the Casper reveal, the dance, the kiss…the ‘boo’ ❤❤😊😊😊
The definition of perfect casting 👌🏾
Dude I had such a crush on human Casper as a kid 😂
I had a crush on Peter Pan 🤣 the old live action
I had a crush on the girl as a kid.
same lmaoo
We all did
Wow that scene at 3:32 ”Can I keep you“ makes me cry 😭
His chuckle and smile, "I told you I was a good dancer."
That line had my teen heart 😍😍
Me too
God I was so in love with Devon Sawa when this came out 😂
I know wha u mean :)
SAME!! ESPECIALLY when he was in Little Giants
Same here!
Me too! 🤣 He looks so young to me now
@@mblodget2418 Just imagine if he kissed you :)
This movie came out when I was 13. Watching this now as a grown (40) woman who's mother has died. I had tears rolling down my face watching this.
Sorry to hear about your mom.
@@Mr.Face222 Thank you.
"Let's just say you know three crazy ghosts who kept their word" Honestly Hollywood doesn't write with this kind of finesse anymore
At the age of five of watching this, that's when I knew I was developing crushes on boys. But the way he said "can I keep you?" aweee my heart❤😍
I always got upset because Casper never turn into a human full-time, I wish Casper was a human So he can live his life with Kat
I felt the same way
Me also, such a sad and heartwarming scene...
It sure was.
Me too I wish he'd stay human
I cried as a kid
Pullmans performance in this scene is on point. Shoes a grief stricken man getting his wish to see his dead wife.
Im a 90s kid and this has always been a favourite of mine... i always tear up at the bit where the dad and the mum talk and... can i keep you? Why is adult life so crap? Everything seemed so easy back then x❤❤❤❤😢😢😢
Idk why the fact that the trio kept their word to James is so heartwarming to me. They may be jerks but they gave him the closure he needed, they really did come through for their friend.
I remember this being one of my favorite movies growing up. I was so upset that Casper never fully became a real boy again. But it was so touching. They’ve been remaking all the great recently, including Hocus Pocus…I vote for a new Casper, one where he finally becomes alive again! ❤
Now I would be down for seeing that!!
@@MJthebookworm Count me in!
They considered making a Casper 2, but Christina Ricci wanted to move on from kiddie roles
I've never seen this movie before. I'm not even sure what compelled me to click. But this scene is amazing. That dance scene made me feel so nostalgic for a movie I've never seen before. The music is so good lol
It's a great movie. The whole franchise is awesome
Must watch!
This movie is so underrated
You have to see the movie it good 👍
That Scream.Pause.Turn.Run-Screaming sequence always gets me rollin - even after all these years lol
And the flip over the fence.
“Please don’t let me be yours” it’s so heartbreaking but she’s also begging him to let her go so he can move forward for their daughter but also so she truly rest in peace 🥺
Well and so he can cross over once he passes away like she did.
Ive not watched this movie since the late 90's. gonna rewatch it for nostalgia. 90's was the most beautiful and peaceful era. So sad to know those times are long gone
This movie is massively underrated, people assume this is just another one those campy comic book adaptations like Dudley Do-Right, but this is surprisingly adult.
I agree and George of the Jungle is another good live action cartoon adaptation
Just found out yesterday that Richie Rich was also based off of a comic book . Macaulay Culkin played him in the movie version
Who else got chills when he said "can I keep you"
I'm going to guess practically every woman in existence.
then and now. then, child actors were on their A-game and the script material was based in everyday human emotions.
I love how hauntingly beautiful the music is
I've seen an interview with Devon Sawa. He said Christina brought him to this movie after "Then and now." Apparently, he's Canadian and had no idea how adored he became after this movie❤
I'm crying right now. God, this movie is the reason why that I love my family so much. So much love, happiness, sadness, sweetness, laughter, all came from this movie. This movie is the reason why I love everyone around me so much.. And.... *Sniff* I can't man. An older teenager is crying in happiness because of how this movie has impacted me.😢
I wish he would've stayed human 😭 💔. One of my favorite movies. 😍🤗
I can’t make it through this scene without crying 🥺😭
James Horners score is so beautiful.
It's amazing that the first thing she expects him to say is that your cat's mom, and the second thing she expects him to say is that you're an angel. She knew how important her daughter was to this ghostly little boy...
my favorite scene from Casper 😭 so beautiful and bittersweet
This scene makes me cry cause after so long he finally found his wife 😢
Had everything when I first saw this. Lost everyone since then. This made me cry. Miss my wife so much. If only I could hold her one more time and feel her touch. Smell her hair. Hear her voice.
Doesn’t matter how cheesy this movie is or how many times I watch it, it literally makes me cry every time. Love this movie 🖤 I was that weird kid who had a crush on human Casper and the little vampire.
After growing up on The Addams Family and this movie, I only now just realized at 20 that Christina Ricci plays in both.
This is such a classic moment. "Can I keep you?" Perfect!
Omg!! I still start bawling when he says “can I keep you” in this part.
6:05 to 6:55 easily is the saddest part of the whole movie. It always gets me no matter how many times I've watched it. Especially at 6:19. Either way though Casper was definitely one of the best Ghost movies ever made. Give a 👍 if you agree with me.
This is one of the sweetest Halloween movies ever. I still love to watch it.
I never thought a kids movie could make me cry but here we are. Families need more movies like this, not the garbage being churned out today.
One of the sweetest and most romantic movie scenes ever!
This scene makes me blush so much...
It breaks my heart when he says “I thought I’d have a hundred things to say when I . . . . “
What a great movie. I used to watch it with my 3 boys when they were little. Such great memories from then and we all love to see it now. Heartwarming.💗
Being in Pizza Hut as a kid in the 90s having the Casper cups they gave out there. It really was special to be a kid in the 90’s. We aren’t promised tomorrow so kids of the 90s really have to cherish those times. It was simple yet at the same time had everything we loved
This is exactly how I instantly felt about my own real life Casper. Someday soon he won’t be a ghost, he’ll be mine and he’s going to ask me the very same thing, “Can I keep you.”
I already know he’s a hunk and an excellent kisser. 😉 and a good dancer... he made me feel just like I was floating just like the two of them, in his living room once. 💕
This scene made me truly believe in love. 😊
Love the pfp

@@kai.417 Thank you very much.
PFP
PFP or proper fuck placement, a term coined by an article writer Meathead. This term is usually used when talking about Trent Reznor or the main person in the band Nine Inch Nails or NIN. It deals with how Trent uses the word fuck in songs and interviews.
good pfp: I want to fuck you like an animal
bad pfp: I hate fuck band Good Charlotte. (the cannot be replaced with fuck)

@@daniellebrunet5482 Oh. I thought she meant profile picture. Don't understand why people say crazy things like this in the comment section.
The music is so soothing
This song gets me right in the feels.
When the music to this soundtrack plays any where, I love how most people will be Awwwww knowing it came from such a beautiful movie. The dance scene was my favorite part, it showed the lost love of James reuniting with his wife for just a brief time and it showed the beautiful love that Casper and Kat have.
I didn’t grow up with this film, so I didn’t watch with nostalgia glasses, lol. My love for Halloween gets bigger every year so now I’m checking out all of the classics that I missed as as a kid. What a sweet heartfelt movie!! 🎃🍁💙
How come you never watched these films before? :)
The soundtrack is amazing!
Casper should've stayed human throughout the rest of the film. It was nice while it lasted. 😭
Blame Dr Harvey it's his fault
Casper gave up the chance to be human so James could be reunited with cat
Right but it was like a Cinderella moment
It doesn't matter if Casper's human or not. I mean yes I also wished he stayed human, but he's cute as a ghost. And he'll always be human in his heart and to anyone, like me, who thinks that, too.
"*chuckle* I told you I was a good dancer. Can I keep you..?"
literally gives me tingles ❤️❤️ i literally love casper so much.
This is one of the sweetest, most heartbreaking scenes I have ever watched. Best, sweetest, and saddest line I have ever heard!!
Just by listening to the soundtrack I started to cry...I haven't remembered this movie for a long time. It's really beautiful.
