Telescopic Boom with 115ft reach!!!

Last week I was downtown Vancouver yet again, but this time I was with Hall constructors newest specialized excavator. With a 115ft of reach, this telescopic clamshell is badass to say the least. Enjoy.

I can say this building opened earlier this year as 320 Granville St. Vancouver, B.C. Traffic was a little difficult during construction as you had to make a dog leg across the intersection potentially cutting someone off coming up a paralell ramp but it is a much better use of land than the former parking garage.

If you have a crane big enough to set that other excavator down in the hole, and pick it out... Why not put a big box down there and pick out 30, 40, or 50 ton at a time?

Maybe because of the footprint of such a crane and restrictions on duration/extent/hours they are allowed to disrupt traffic? Just a wild guess.

Because they would have to shut down the road. The crane takes up both lanes.

@@ShredForth I make 38, and in virginia beach that's way above excavator pay. Usually 25 - 29. It's way better than carrying around 60lb bag of quickcrete for 17. I run everything tho, loaders, track hoes, backhoe, track loader, skid steer, motor grader, cranes, wheel excavator, shit dude some of the loaders Ive ran are bigger than a two story house.

@@kylemapstone7594 yeah I do all that too and have commercial licence. This video is in Vancouver BC and it’s totally normal to be making 40-45 an hour here…… I make 47 plus pension/benefits and have a company truck/gas card.

Is there a camera at the bottom of the stick for the operator to see where hes digging? Pretty cool never seen a set up like this before. Thanks for the cool video
